I want to do some fun snacks for the kids and am considering cheese and chocolate fondue. I’ve never done it but it looks easy enough.
For New Year’s Day we do the traditional rice and dumpling soup for brunch.

If I’m feeling ambitious tomorrow maybe we will make some dumplings.

MH brought home 2 kilos of peel and eat shrimp, which is great but for 3 adults and we have another seafood tray coming and I made a lot of dips and codfish with cream for the kids. This is too much food. I guess tomorrow will be a snooze fest. ☺️

Tonight I’m making a spinach/artichoke dip, prosciutto wrapped shrimp, and we are grilling steaks with mashed potatoes and sprouts. Salted caramel panna cottas with dark chocolate ganache for dessert.
Tomorrow I’m making scones in the morning, cauliflower wings and sweet and sour meatballs for dinner.

I've tried a lot of the Neelys old recipes and theyve never steered me wrong. My first ham, I did their Glaze on it.

I am debating inviting the ILs over for "dinner" which is just a bunch of apps. We will have plenty and I know they would appreciate it, but I don't want them here late. Like eat around 7:00 and gone by 9:00. Would that be rude???

Today we have a family night with crab legs, a kid-friendly cheese fondue, and chocolate fondue, both with lots of dippers. And sparkling juice. We just play games and hang out and have a long slow dinner.
I usually do the pork and sauerkraut thing for New Year’s Day, but not all of my kids like it and now one won’t eat pork at all. So this year I think I’m either making a creamy crockpot chicken dish with pasta, homemade pizza, or maybe a soup/stew/chili.

I’ve been down with strep since Thursday. Today is the first day I’ve been able to somewhat handle solid food. We’re going to my sister’s for a couple hours.
I’m bringing: - Cheese fondue that will be drizzled on instead of dipped in bread, pretzel bites, sliced apples & pears, steamed broccoli & cauliflower, and mini potatoes. - smoked shrimp - banana pudding
She’s making a grilled cheese bar and some other snacks and a chocolate cake.

The kids were invited to a make your own pizza and ice cream sundae party - I need to go meet my friend's new beau (so much baby dad drama has clouded her year, so I'm so glad she's happy).
But then our chef just invited me to tacos at the restaurant with her family. I may make an entrance with the kiddos and ditch them for tacos for a little while.
H hasn't been home on New Years...ever...so we don't have any traditions or plans other than a 9pm ball drop on youtube and then I stay up most years and ring it in alone.

H and the kids had pizza, but I dawdled because I wasn’t hungry yet and they ate all of it (they did ask if they should save some for me, but I am meh on the place they ordered from anyway). So I am making myself pasta and will have a hard cider with it.

My husband has mild Covid so it’s just us in the living room. I made bacon wrapped brown sugar little smokies (huge hit with the kids) bean dip and spinach artichoke dip.
