gamergirl I tried everything with a brand new dresser we bought for the nursery for DS. It smelled of chemicals. I let it sit outside in the sun, tried baking soda, scrubbed it. What finally worked was turning on the ceiling fan, opening the window, pointing a floor fan directly at the dresser with the drawers open, and leaving all that for a day with the door closed. My mom suggested it and I think I scoffed at her, but it actually worked.

Breakfast for dinner was a win! We even got DD to eat scrambled eggs for the first time. Getting her to actually eat new foods is such a slow process so I feel like an awesome parent when we do get a new food in there. At this rate we *may* be able to drop her food goals from therapy during reevaluation in September. I can relate to this big time! DS1 was an awful eater but to give you hope, something happened a little after 3 where he started really trying new things. When I say he was a bad eater he wouldn't even eat the normal bad foods like hot dogs, Mac and cheese, grilled cheese, pizza, cheese burgers, etc. I legit teared up the day he ate his first hog dog. I know this sounds messed up but sometimes you are in. Situation where it's a hot dog or nothing! Your DD may surprise you after all. Now DS1 eats almost everything. I never would've believed it. Oddly DS2 was an amazing eater because I was set on doing everything differently with him but he regressed! Now at almost 3 he eats basically fruit, pasta and chicken nuggets. It's terrible! Hoping to get a rebound.

thatgirlrachel - I'm so sorry for your friends. I missed this over the weekend. No words seem adequate.

thatgirlrachel, just saw this. So so heartbroken for your friend, family and friends. It just isn't fair. No parent should go through this. Words are meaningless for such sorrow. Thinking of your friend. Now I just want to run home to hug my DS tightly 😢 And how utterly selfless like what Taitai said to think of others at such a difficult time.
