My fur baby isn't feeling well, and I'm having all the guilts in the world about it. 2 weeks ago, I took him into the vet because he was having issues with his mouth. He would cry when scratched under his chin, drooling, ect. The vet said he needed a dental cleaning and likely tooth extraction. Problem is they quoted me $796 - $1035 to do it. If you recall I've been stressing about money for a few months and we just don't have a thousand dollars lying around. Well, they gave me some pain meds for him and some water addative to see of it cleared up the lesions they saw around his tooth. I think it did for a while, but it seems it's back. Anyway, after an entire day of googling options I stumbled upon a vet clinic 30 miles from me that does low cost dental cleanings and surgeries. I called today and made an appt for my buddy. $185 - $400, plus $50 for some pre-op bloodwork because he's a little old man. I was so happy yesterday i cried just thinking about how relieved I was that I found somewhere that wouldn't break us financially. Today though, he's back to not feeling good, crying when you touch his face area and just not feeling good. I feel so terrible that he's in pain and its my fault for not being able to treat him earlier. I'm just trying to give him pain meds when he looks like he's struggling. I broke down while making lunch thinking about him being in pain. Sorry for the novel, guys. Feels. You are doing everything you can for him! One of my cats needs this too, it's happening in September. As I started reading your post I was going to say you should see if there are any vet schools by you but it looks like you found a lower cost option. Good research!

Thanks guys, I wish loved ones (of all species) didn't ever get hurt/sick. It's the poop.
This clinic though does some awesome work, the lady on the phone told me that they had a couple in from CT yesterday who were quoted $10,000 for surgery for their dog and they did it for just over $1,000. I'm just so thankful for vets who just want to help animals (and people!).

I just went and watched the trailer for season 1. I really like Jason Bateman and H and I need a new show to binge watch! We watched the first ep last night. Fast moving show! Jason Bateman is really good and it's not his typical role. If you start watching let me know what you think! Just got done with episode 1. I am not cut out for a life of crime. I am too naïve and wouldn't know the first thing about smuggling drugs or laundering money or anything else. I'm intrigued enough to keep watching though. I need fast-paced to keep me awake and watching something at night or I'll fall asleep on the sofa!

Trying to transition DS to a big bed, and moving him into DDs room...Its not going well. He just won't stay in bed. Up at 4 this morning, after going to bed too late. I slept terribly, I cannot stop thinking about what a fellow S13 mom is going through right now with her son. It's likely the same family thatgirlrachel mentioned. Having some of my ILs over for lunch today, so I'll be doing some cooking/cleaning this morning. It's amazing how quickly my kids can destroy a clean house.

gamergirl Google 26 days to get rid of cigarette smoke odor (or something similar). I was just reading a list the other day. mommabakes do you have the Ok to Wake Clock? Even if he wakes at 4am, if you can get him to stay in bed until the clock turns green, he may get used to it and sleep longer.

Well, DS surprised me and slept until past 7:30 this morning! He usually sleeps until 8:30, but since he went to bed at 6:30 last night (opposed to 9pm), I'm not complaining. Thought I'd be up at 5 for sure, lol. Now I'm just sipping my coffee while DS watches a car show on you tube. Need to start getting ready for church soon. Might go out for Chinese buffet after, which would make up for my lack of pastry last night.

Also, I'm in need of some advice. My dad brought us a dresser they no longer needed, so we planned on putting it in the nursery with DS's for baby girl's clothes. Well, H brought it into the apartment and left it in the nursery before we went to lunch. When we got back, the entire room smelled like stale cigarettes (my dad smokes). I wiped the entire thing down with Clorox wipes, put a dryer sheet in each drawer, then had H put it out on the balcony to air out. Not sure if any of these things will help, but I really need the smell to go away before putting baby clothes in it. Any suggestions if it still stinks by tomorrow? Blech. We had this happen with a lamp we bought at a garage sale years ago (wtf??????) I tried a bunch of things but what actual worked in the end was I made a paste of baking soda + water (thick enough though that it would stick all up and around the base), then let it sit for a while, then wiped it all down with vinegar. It FINALLY got rid of the smell. Is the dresser wood? Laminate? Is it stained or painted? You may just want to sand the whole thing, prime with a super duty primer (I rec zinsser) and repaint.

If you have one it might be worth a try

We took DD to a splash pad for the first time. MH is in there with her, and I've spent the last 30 minutes slowly inching my chair back into the shade as the sun moves toward me. Once I hit the fence, we are outta here!

Just went to grab my lunch, I'm at work and had to buy. Decided on the Cobb salad with this great honey Dijon dressing, the dressing really makes the salad. I pay and they make it and then tell me they were out of salad dressing, it's totally the best part. I would have got the chicken Cesar if I had known. Balsamic is not the same. #pregnancyfoodproblems
H's friend finally came and picked up our old safe, it's been sitting in the corner of our bedroom since march when we inherited the inlaws larger one in their move. So glad it's gone! Oh and the extra cash is always nice.

Breakfast for dinner was a win! We even got DD to eat scrambled eggs for the first time. Getting her to actually eat new foods is such a slow process so I feel like an awesome parent when we do get a new food in there. At this rate we *may* be able to drop her food goals from therapy during reevaluation in September.

DH is golfing with my BIL and BILs other BIL this afternoon, trying to decide what to make for DD and I for supper tonight. She is having a late nap and I am watching Netflix. Probably should wake her soon though...

I was thinking about McDonald's chicken nuggets all day today. Thankfully, H didn't shoot me down when I suggested we get some for dinner.

Thanks everyone. Unfortunately they did not get their miracle. My heart is hurting so badly for them as they prepare to say goodbye to their 3 year old son.
They are, however, trying to line up organ donation for him. If anyone happens to know anyone in need of a child organ donation, please let me know so I can put you in touch with them. The fact that I'm the most horrific of times, they are thinking of passing life on is amazing to me. Ugh. I just have lots of feels today.

thatgirlrachel Oh no oh no 😢 I am so sorry for your friend...I can't even imagine what they must be going through. What strong parents to be thinking of others in such a terrible situation. I'll continue to send prayers and keep them in my thoughts. So very sad.
