Also I don’t really like turkey unless I cook it 😂😂 so my plate is literally sides with a slice of turkey.
I make the crockpot mashed potatoes and they are so good I’ll eat just a plate of those if I could

I agree Thanksgiving is my favorite as well. I love Christmas but I like that Thanksgiving is more laid back and no expectations and no gifts. Just about food and drinks and family

Thanksgiving is also my favorite. Best foods are stuffing and sweet potatoes in any form. Our random food is probably Waldorf salad. I have no idea why my grandma has always made it for Thanksgiving, but it's a staple.

tinyjoys is the boursin cheese with onions and bacon like a dip to eat with crackers? That sounds amazing do you have a recipe you wouldn't mind sharing? I recently started making boursin mashed potatoes for Thanksgiving and I don't think I'll ever go back now

And football. I'm not even a huge football fan but there's something about hearing it on TV all day during Thanksgiving that I love. It makes it feel cozy I guess

I recently started making boursin mashed potatoes for Thanksgiving and I don't think I'll ever go back now My recipe list has the jam itself doubled because I use the jam for both this & the charcuterie board. If you’re just doing it for the Boursin cheese, cut the bacon, onion, & balsamic in half. I make the jam the day before & reheat the day of.

I posted about this a couple of weeks ago, but my MIL makes this dish for Thanksgiving that they call "orange stuff" that is jello, cool whip, mandarin oranges, pecans, and cottage cheese -- I don't think that's a traditional Thanksgiving dish, at least not for me. My favorite is dressing, specifically my mom's dressing, which apparently she took to the grave, so I'm still trying to perfect it. Thanksgiving has always been my favorite, and I'm trying to keep that same energy, but it's not the same now that it's just my immediate family plus my ILs. Cottage cheese????? 😡 I forgot to mention the marshmallows! It's actually not as gross as it sounds, but I think it's the kind of thing that you have to grow up eating. I put a couple of spoonfuls on my plate to be polite. My kids won't even allow it on their plates.

Known asshole? Known racist? Known bully? FYI - It's not big news here. Oh I know he’s terrible. I’m just sharing that he passed. He was very infamous in IN and I know he coached in some other places as well. It's just weird you know. Like who really gives a fuck about this low life? I hope he has the afterlife he deserves.

Idk if this is big news outside of Indiana, but Bobby Knight passed away yesterday, 83. /mediaViewer?currentTweet=1719861239591977183¤tTweetUser=stoolpresidente My H mentioned it last night but I thought that he had already died years ago. 😬

JVN did a podcast with Keke Palmer and aid that the interview with Dax was highly edited and he asked for, but never got, final approval on what went out. www.tiktok.com/t/ZPR7EoYrf/JVN is a national treasure and I despise Dax even more for all that bullshit. JVN has been through enough in his life (highly recommend his memoir if you haven't read already), so fuck Dax.

This is some church potluck by the olds stuff. My grandmother used to do stuff like this. I’ve had the cottage cheese version many times. Our Christmas version was the coleslaw version. No one liked it, but it was a tradition I guess from the 60’s.

I love Thanksgiving but our huge extended family, multi day Thanksgiving extravaganza died with COVID. Though, I am enjoying the smaller gatherings as well. We're hosting at our new house and I'm excited to cook the big traditional meal. Mashed potatoes and gravy are always my favorite but I am going to try to resuscitate my grandma's famous rolls this year.
I just saw that Ady Barkan died and I forgot what the other questions were.

I’m going to assume Matthew Perry. There have been a ton of conspiracy theory tiktoks about how his manuscript is missing for a new book that was going to name names about Epstein & whatnot.

My MIL used to make a lime jello version for Christmas, but no one ever ate it. Yes. I assume they all came out of the Midwest. You have your just chopped up fruits in jello, your canned fruits in jello usually with cool whip or whipped cream as the dessert salad and then you have the jello salad with vegetables. It’s coleslaw and carrots in lime jello I think it is just called lime salad. Ours was served in a snowman mold until we finally told nana no one likes it. I think some people put peas in it, ours was lime jello chopped cabbage, shredded carrots and served on a bed of lettuce. I’ve seen other jello salads at church I have not tried on lettuce beds so I assume they are the salad versions of jello.

Would he have been sleeping with one of the women from friends though? I immediately thought of him too but that part doesn't seem to fit

My MIL used to make a lime jello version for Christmas, but no one ever ate it. My MIL used to make the lime jello version every Easter I believe because it was her mother's tradition, but NO ONE ever even put some on their plates to be polite, like ever, so I think she finally stopped bothering making it. I'm torn on all the holidays my MIL insists on hosting (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Easter) because while I appreciate the effort she puts in and that I don't have to stress to host myself and I only have to bring an app/side/dessert or two, I've learned that they just aren't like the holidays I had growing up and it always makes me a little sad. My childhood holidays were all day events that focused on eating and relaxing and hanging out and spending time with family. And although MIL likes us to be there earlyish in the day (like 3 usually), she is often stressed out about getting everything ready, but doesn't want help from anyone, kicks anyone who tries to help out of the kitchen, yells at kids who try to get her to play with them (then cries because she's not spending time with them), tells everyone dinner is going to be at 5, but then dinner is never actually ready until 7 usually, at which point we've given the kids so many random snacks they aren't even hungry. When my kids were little we used to have to rush them through eating to get them home to bed and never even made it to dessert. Now at least that's not an issue and I've learned to just relax and hang out with everyone else while MIL goes crazy in the kitchen, but it's still not my ideal holiday and I'd almost rather host myself, but MIL isn't ready to give up hosting duties.

Her having an affair with him would definitely turn the tables on her vs. Brad & Angelina.
