M keeps getting ice cream and a spoon out in the mornings right when we wake up. I'm always too tired to care. (I do try to cut her off early)

I have been avoiding the KA thread. I just haven't been KA lately.

I left my kids in the car when I ran into the feed store the other day.

I let my kids eat cinnamon rolls for lunch on days we walk to the cafe/bakery.

M just calls whipped cream "Ah," because we tell her to say ah and squirt it right into her mouth. I don't even know if she knows it's called whipped cream.

Today is my 10th anniversary. My mom is coming out tonight so my husband and I can go out for dinner. He's been such a grouch today I wish I could leave him home with the kids and go out for dinner with my mom instead.

A's cousin's ex-girlfriend is pregnant and due in Oct. They split up a few months ago and now there's all this drama. The cousin is sort of a disaster and A hasn't been close since they were kids.
The GF is dealing with basically trying to get him to step up and make minimal plans for this baby, and he's resisting.
I am the only one who seems to take her needs seriously.
I am seriously in such a weird headspace - wanting to simultaneously run away-away-away from the situation, and also ask her to move in with us. It's a very weird headspace to be in.
I'm so grateful to be in a committed, healthy relationship.

I still regret not joining the Air Force right out of college. Sometimes I think about joining the reserves after I get abdominal surgery. But then I have all the mom/spouse guilt about leaving everyone for months at a time

Other people's children trying to play with you/your kid who wants nothing of it at playgrounds are annoying.

Also I confess I'm astonished at the number of parents who let preschool aged kids play in shallow lake water completely unsupervised. Ok they are there but way out of arms reach and unsure if even watching.

My kid has found calliou on the roku and I'm scared.
But I'd rather her watch that than princess Disney crap so I'm allowing it.

Both my girls love it and R has some pretty great animal knowledge now. She's seen it but doesn't care. I'm pretty much not allowed to suggest shows to her at this point. In one ear and out the other. It wasn't a good idea to show her how to use the remote.

Like when they are in bathing suits and up to their necks? Not frog catching or anything....

I would leave my house, drive away and never come back if it weren't for my kids.

I forget to talk to C. I just keep doing to her instead. She gets what I'm saying and responds well when I explain things to her ("we're all done reading books for tonight") and doesn't respond well when I treat her like newborn lump. C is an awesome human being that everyone loves. I need to be better to her and for her.

I'm one of those parents that asks for no gifts for birthday parties. We just don't need any more stuff and I hate how toys have so many more parts as they get older. I guess that's flame worthy on my birth month board.

I told J that I had to go downstairs and let the dogs outside and that I'd be back to lay down with him in a little bit. He took a nearly 4 hr nap today and didn't wake up until 630 so he's still not real tired.
I am drinking a beer on the couch, and do not plan on going back upstairs until he is asleep.

My kids ended up spending the night at MIL's again. We didn't even leave clothes aside from the extra changes in the diaper bag because we planned to go back to MIL's town for dinner and to pick them up. One of our discs landed in the lake and I spent an hour wading around in there trying to find it, and by the time I gave up the restaurant was closing. We ended up eating pizza and sno cones in bed instead.

I guess that's flame worthy on my birth month board. Us, too. We had a combo party for the girls this year and we asked their friends to consider donating something (from a list of needed items) to a local non-profit, instead of toys. And then the girls took all those donations and delivered them. It was a really cool experience for them. They still got presents from us and family, but it was so nice not to have an influx of 20 random toys.

rugger I've got a friend that asks for experiences in place of gifts. So zoo passes, water parks, museums etc. We're building her a tree fort/swingset so it's not like she'll be deprived.

Our plates keep breaking. Instead of getting new ones we just started buying paper plates.

(he's turning 2 and doesn't quite get it yet) P's birthday was a week and a half ago and he ignores the paw patrol toys he asked for and A plays with them. So that is A's present now. We aren't even doing a party. Just dinner at my moms. As long as he gets to blow out candles he will be happy. I have some guilt about this, but not really, because we don't need more crap. I may re-wrap something if he wants to open gifts.
