1. They are flying planes one right after another many FA and crew have commented that sometimes they have 8 minutes to clean up in between flights and they have other things that are higher priority than the floor. I keep wanting to make this point. We fly a lot. Our past three flights, we have waited for our plane to land, deplane, crew to go through some sort of security (I don’t understand but every time they say there’s some security thing the crew has to do) and the plane to get cleaned. The process between the crew getting off, the plane getting cleaned and us boarding is literally at most ten minutes. And every flight we’ve been on lately, the crew has come around with a trash bag like 60 times at landing and stressed that the plane is going right back out so please throw out all garbage. We know planes are nasty. They’re not coming out and doing a scrub down between flights. These planes are so over-scheduled and delayed as it is. Leaving your shit all over is going to add time to a cleanup and slow down the next flight going out. It seems like a no brainer. If your kid gets stuff on the floor, pick it up. Yeah, being pregnant sucks but I’m guessing if her kid throws food all over her house, she doesn’t leave it there? Yes! I know they have house cleaners but not yeah she isn’t leaving food or whatever all over her house |

It was literally a handful of popcorn if she couldn’t fit make it a game with the five year old 3. 100% she was probably being an asshole at some point 4. Yes I do believe if an adult was messy and not even attempting to clean up it would be addressed. 5. Again FA make under 40,000 a year and they have to deal with the worst types of people so if I can help in some way by cleaning up something I dropped I’m going to similar to a restaurant 6. But I also agree with Cher a plane is not a restaurant, nor is it a movie theater or hotel This seems like it was supposed to be a response to me, but IDK since I wasn’t quoted or tagged. In case it needs to be said and people think I’m making it rain popcorn on flights- I am cleaning up after my kids or they are cleaning up. |

My last few flights on Delta, the cleaners were already on the plane waiting for us to finish getting off so they could start cleaning.
And it's an actual cleaning staff, not the FAs.

We have flown SW a lot recently and they had cleaning crews in between- we were some of the first on to one of the flights and I saw them leaving- so my assumption that a quick vacuum would be done was based on that.
But I now see that isn’t standard.

We waited 5 hours in Atlanta for a pilot recently. Five hours! In Delta's hub city! It's crazy. The whole gate cheered and gave a standing O when he got there😂 |

Is she not even sitting with them? Like those kids are alone in that row, yes? If it was me alone and 2 little kids, that’s what I would do in a 2x2. Kids together, me across the aisle. I guess this makes sense. I had never really considered it. I think it’s more so the feeding them (specifically the toddler) popcorn across the aisle that rubs me the wrong way. |

They were flying United and I could go on for days with my disdain for United, but I’m on their side here. I’ve never seen a separate cleaning crew for United.

I’m not saying traveling while pregnant isn’t hard I’m sure it is I didn’t do it. But if you travel while pregnant you don’t get a pass Especially when your spouse is worth millions. It’s not hard to be a little empathetic. |

My take on the popcorn thing is that the mom was shitty to everyone around her and they'd had enough. Because if you are a pregnant woman traveling with small kids and you apologize if they make a mess and just ask for help, i bet the FA would be kind in response. The FA being shitty and making her clean it up tells me she likely treated them terribly in the first place. This is what I was thinking. IME, employees are often really kind when they see me cleaning up after my kids and either tell me not to worry about it or bring something out to make it easier. I would bet money she acted like an entitled jerk, plus didn't even bother attempting to clean up her kids' mess. |

There are cleaning crews. But they’re doing a quick pass-through 95% of the time to get the plane turned around. It just makes it easier on everyone if your kids throw shit all over, pick it up.
And honestly, I don’t think the pregnant thing is even relevant. There’s disabled people on the plane. People going to their parent’s funeral. People having the worst day of their life. Everybody has a thing. But we’re trying to live in society here. Pick up your popcorn.

I am fairly disabled during pregnancy and I still don't think it's an excuse.
I had two children 15 months apart and they never created messes like this. Because I stopped them.
This was shitty parenting, and posting it on Twitter to get the FA fired - let's face it, that was the desired result - and get outrage sympathy (which backfired) says all I need to know about these people.

If you are so "disabled" that you cannot care for your children properly, you shouldn't be on the flight and there's no circumstance that makes that okay. What if there was an emergency? Then you're suddenly not disabled?

eta IDK, I don't have angel unicorn children or anything, and I am flummoxed by what people post online. I parented them. If they were acting inappropriately, I took care of it. Including on planes, where my son had a full bratty meltdown at 3 and I hauled his ass to the bathroom for a stern get your shit together talk.
I am a love and light and set them up for success parent. You throw fucking popcorn, I am stopping that real quick.
