We are going on two weeks of back-to-back exposures at daycare. They're doing test-to-stay so you're able to send kids in with negative tests but every day there is a new case, resetting timeline. So far, both the teachers and half the kids are out.

piratecat ugh, thatโs rough. How often do they have to test? They're supposed to test every other day for 5 days but we carpool with another family so we've been testing every morning and they mask in the car. On the bright side, the 2YO is getting pretty good at getting swabbed and I suppose if he doesn't end up getting it this time around at least we'll know most of his class will have immunity for a little while.

For the second time in a week, a business I am attempting to patronize is "unexpectedly closed due to staffing problems"
But yeah. The pandemic is over.

I went into a Hallmark today and the lady working the counter was wearing a shitty cloth mask (the stretchy t-shirt material kind) and coughing ๐ซ
This is why I don't go in stores

Welp, here we go again. Keeping up with the tradition of Covid before a big trip.
Feb 2020 (we assume Covid living in Nj, husband working in Manhattan) before Paris and London, March 2022 before Disney World and now 2023 right before a huge trip to Hawaii and Australia ๐ฉ
DD1 started feeling sick Thursday, lit up a test this morning. Just a stuffy nose and slight cough, no fever. Everyone else is negative so far and feeling fine. We have 11 days until we leave!

I finally got the updated booster booked for DS for next Saturday early afternoon. It's at an HEB near-ish our house where he got his first two Covid shots. I figured we could all go and then get some lunch afterwards.

FIL tested positive this morning. He has type 2 diabetes, so weโre all a little worried. Heโs trying to get Paxlovid this weekend, but isnโt sure heโll be able to get it before Monday.
Iโm on Day 6 and still testing positive and feeling extra tired with a little cough. Iโve also been feeling bouts of sadness for the past couple days, not sure if thatโs a symptom of the COVID or just the circumstances.

Really wish my 85 yr old moms dr would have just called her in pavloxid without talking to her and then deciding we'll you don't have much symptoms you will be OK without it. Cause now 3 mos after covid she has sooo much difficulty breathing new copd diagnosis and new enlarged heart that wasn't there when he did alllll the same tests on her when she turned 85 in April.

DS just tested positive, so now heโs out of the school for the whole week. Itโs a small miracle it took as long as it did for him to turn a test. Hopefully he stays asymptomatic like DD.

Some docs just don't like to prescribe pavloxid but she was a perfect candidate. That's ridiculous that they didn't just automatically prescribe it to an 85 year old. My PCP offered it to me just for being 40.

Oh man, Minerva, I feel like COVID has been attacking your family for a few weeks now. Is this the last to get sick? Yes, heโs the last one in our house to test positive. It was probably inevitable once H and I both tested positive, despite our best efforts to isolate him. The only ones left are our dog and cat, who have certainly been exposed at this point.

We took it as proof that our vaccines were working because it took a full 7 days between some of our new positives - the vaccines can hold it off, but only for so long!
