Aww, that's sweet! Not the same thing, but when we got married I tied a couple of pieces of H's grandparents' jewelry together with a blue ribbon for him to carry in his pocket. Then for my sister, I tied the cross I wear every day on that ribbon and pinned it into the bodice of her dress for her something borrowed and blue. I love this! I carried a ribbon with my dad’s picture and my grandma’s mother’s ring on my bouquet and it was my favorite thing I'm a total sucker for sentimental things at weddings. I love setting up memory tables and making them look beautiful with candles and flowers and signage.

We should really move close to each other and run the best wedding business My memory table was also a favorite. I have a picture of me standing next to it

The first date dress story was hilarious to me because… you didn’t confirm with your wife? Who was probably sitting in the same room as you? But yes the Queen Mother thing, for sure. There’s photos of him on the ski trip when she died. But he says he got a call at Eton. Also, he claims to have introduced Eugenie and Meghan in the book (if I’m remember right ) but Meghan claims she knew her previously. And listen, you guys are doing to die when I bring this up but he claims QE2’s corgis are descended from Queen Victoria’s corgis but… I don’t even think Victoria had a corgi. Elizabeth got her first from her dad and all her subsequent Corgi’s were descendants of that dog. But I don’t think Victoria had anything to do with it. It’s just a random claim, aside from the weird Xbox thing. And he’s like “idk I don’t remember” Why not just… check? It must have been a PlayStation or an N64, it wouldn’t take a lot of detective work. I’m too much of a perfectionist for this breezy “this is how I remember it” memoir.

Meghan was all sentimental about having a bit of that first date dress sewn into her wedding dress, and he doesn’t remember it and recounts it wrong in his book. My dude. The details. You’re killing me.

Since you know a lot more than me I’m interested in your thoughts about things not adding up. I know the Xbox is a hot topic but I’m assuming you have more. The biggest one is him saying he remembers getting a call at Eton when the Queen Mother died, but he was actually on a ski holiday. But others pointed out that he was at Eton and called when Margaret (I think it was Margaret?) died so he likely was mixing the two. Another one is what he describes Meghan as wearing on their first date is different than what she said she wore- again, it doesn’t seem like something he’d lie about. They had two dates in two days, so I’m wondering if he mixed up which was which. People tried making the sales at TK Max a thing, but then there were pics on Twitter of sales advertisements. I think he doesn’t have the greatest memory - and traumatic things even more. Some of what he shared not being able to remember about his mom was so sad. I think one of the big ones is the one about where he was when the Queen Mother died and how he got the news and I think he did conflate the two and one could argue, that was easy enough to fact-check but for me, that's what he is remembering then, in those moments, not down the road, so I don't see the point of fact-checking those kinds of moments. Because it was his "truth" in that moment in time. Here's a crazy example and possible TW: When my brother died in a car accident, one of my older brothers took me and my brother's fiance to the hospital where my mom and the rest of my siblings had gathered. Much of those days and first weeks are an absolute blur. I remember being there, at the hospital, but had zero recollection of going to the morgue to see him. I remember others going into that room but not me. It was a few years later when I was dating my now-H and he asked me about that and I said "no" and my mom, who was there (I think we were at her house) gently reminded me not only had I gone into the morgue but that I insisted on it because I had to see for myself that he was really gone and I wanted to see him before the people at the funeral home changed his appearance. And it came rushing back as I burst into tears and as an aside, thinking back even now, I don't regret those moments with him. But it is absolutely crazy how the mind works, particularly faced with trauma.

I’m sorry that happened to you MelanieCarmichael and I get the trauma response thing. I do. However, the way he posed it in the book was like “see how callous and unfeeling this family is? My grandma died and I got a call.” When in reality he was with his family. The family for sure sucks, but he has real stories about that he could use. Not some easily debunked misremembered one.

Thank you for your kind words. I can understand the thinking of fact-checking, if nothing else, to keep the critics at bay (at least on this anecdote). I did love the stories he shared about the Queen Mother and apparently her being Prince, crap, King Charles' favorite person.

Anyone else think that MelanieCarmichael had renamed Charles "Prince Crap" for a minute? I was like "yeah, that fits...." Sorry for your loss, MelanieCarmichael . I know that even on a smaller level, some more traumatic stuff my mind has just done crazy things as far as what it retains and what it doesn't.

You’re killing me. But I can see my h not remembering that or getting it confused but also we have been together a long time. I do get what you mean about fact checking I am with STP though that I honestly think he was just writing to get things out and feel better and it’s all jumbled together which doesn’t help him out

I think I saw that this was a 3 book deal. Any ideas on what the other 2 will be?

I think I saw that this was a 3 book deal. Any ideas on what the other 2 will be? This one seemed to center around his penis, so maybe the next one will be about his butt? If so, let me be the first to say, I will not be reading that one. And definitely not the audiobook.

It’s the putting it in a book thing that gets the head tilt. Go in the other room and ask her, my dude. Proof she never read it in draft, I guess.

If one of them really is Invictus Games focused, I could see it being like a spotlight on specific stories from those games. I would read that. If it is behind the scenes of filing paperwork to make the organization for the games and Harry focused, probably not. Like their latest Netflix project, they're in for like 60 seconds doing an intro. If it's basically him writing an intro about why he started the games and then participants telling their stories, that could be good. But if it is a rundown of who approved what Meghan wore to the games and then didn't defend her when criticized, I'll pass.

That's about 3 books too many. At least 2. How can he possibly have 3 more books to write? Granted I haven't even read the first one yet but I just don't think there could be that much to say. I'm so confused.

If it's not Volume II of Harry's "Dear Diary" but more about the causes he cares about and the people at the heart of those causes, I would definitely read that. I would read a memoir by Meghan.

I don't think Meghan plans to put any more of her business on Front Street than she has. She seems to move in silence.

If he writes a "fiction" novel about a beleaguered prince who escapes his evil family bc he's the hero, Immma need that to be a unity horse.
