Grandson wheezing and 104 not responding to meds so off to pediatrician I'm so sorry. Is the fever not responding to meds or the wheezing?

Grandson wheezing and 104 not responding to meds so off to pediatrician I'm so sorry. Is the fever not responding to meds or the wheezing? He didn't wheeze at all at dr. His fever not responding to meds. Dr sent them back home to rest. Now son is positive this evening. Dh and I have no symptoms and still negative on tests. I guess we should test again. Almost out of tests and damned insurance only pays for 1 home test if our dr prescribes it.

Not sure what area of the valley you are in but the library in Surprise has free tests just sitting out on a table for anyone to take. Maybe a library near you has the same.

West valley So I'll have to ck library in surprise. Closer to me they are all out. Update you lead me to county libraries instead of city and a couple other health dept type places that are out. I should be able to get some in the morning thanks.

The county library page under faq lists if there are tests available and what's the last day they counted/confirmed that there were still tests available

I scheduled my girls for their 2nd boosters later this afternoon. I'm a little nervous they will have a reaction because they are getting Moderna this time and all other doses have been Pfizer. I just hope they don't have bad side effects. They aren't going to be happy with me when I pick then up from school but I've waited as long as we can, I want this done before Christmas.

TBH, if you are low on tests, more aren’t easy to come by and if you are not showing symptoms I would hold off on testing until someone feels sick. Outside your house act as though you were an asymptotic positive (mask, reduce interactions with humanity to the barest minimum, let your PT know the situation and see what their guidance is). Continuing to test to prove a negative is pointless.

Good, thank you for asking. She has a minor cough but we're giving her the albuterol the dr prescribed and it seems to be keeping everything under control. She tested negative for rsv, flu, and covid, so their best guess is some other unknown/unnamed respiratory virus. *sigh*

Continuing to test to prove a negative is pointless. PT asked me to test before my appointment yesterday. Primary dr visit today just wear my mask. I have my usual there's a storm so I'm achey and sinus pain pressure and snifflies with a slight sore throat sometimes, so there are "symptoms" So will continue to test occasionally until it's been a week since we last saw someone in the positive family.

my mom continues to have Covid coughing fits with troubles breathing. so brother took her to to er and they checked her over, chest xray etc current diagnosis is COPD with no need to oxygen yet. of course nobody tells me anything unless I call mom. I always say I will be the last one to hear about it when she dies, cause I'll call and she won't answer the phone.

Our neighbor tested positive this morning. We carpool and she took the kids to school before she was tested. Kids get tested today at school. So we'll just be watching them like hawks for the next week.

I don’t think I ever updated here, but my grandpa was released to a PT nursing home around thanksgiving, and then was able to go home last week. He’s still recovering and it’s been a long covid experience since early October for him.

I wish him continued recovery!

nelzie, my kids got Moderna after having Pfizer for the others and had no major reactions. FX it goes well for you guys. Thanks. My oldest seems to be doing fine besides a sore arm. My youngest is now home sick so I get to play the "booster side effects or actually sick" game. She had an upset stomach when she woke up but no fever and felt fine once she ate so I sent her to school. The school called 10 min after DH dropped her off and said she had an upset stomach and fever of 101.3 so we have her home now for today and tomorrow. I got her temp at 99.1 when she got home so I wonder if our thermometer isn't working. I'm really hoping it's just booster side effects 😬

I'm thinking DD2 is probably just having booster side effects. She had an upset stomach and headache for a little bit but has felt fine since noon. And no fever since she left school. But now she has to miss acro class tonight and school again tomorrow, I should have scheduled the shot for the weekend.

Apparently the White House is restarting the free home tests through usps again. We should be able to start requesting them tomorrow. www.covid.gov/tests

Now my oldest isn't feeling well. I'm not sure if this is too far past it to be booster side effects or not. About 36 hours post booster she threw up once and has a fever of 100.5. So now I'll have both my kids home from school today. I'm really kicking myself for not doing the boosters on a weekend but this is the first time they've had any reaction.

My booster side effects hit at about 36 hours post shot. And DS threw up about 20 hours after his, then felt better in a few hours. So it could definitely be side effects - hopefully she is feeling better quickly!

Her temp is 100.0 so elevated but not technically a fever. So I'm still holding out hope that this is just side effects 🤞🏼

Dd got her first covid exposure notice today of the year. I honestly wasn’t sure they were still doing them Haha so did we. We did a spit test this morning and masked him back up. I am in such a brain fog I researched and read multiple websites about when my N can get his bivalent booster. I’m confused. So he got the under 5 2 shot Moderna series. Last shot was mid august. One website said wait 5 months. Another said 2 months. He’s 5 now, so eligible for the bigger dose. Do we wait or get it now? My plan was to get it now so he can have the extra protection upon return to school from winter vacation.
