Idk this guy. Is he more terrible than most Rs? He's the one from the impeachment hearings with the super nasally voice who someone here very cleverly named Debate Team Captain. Ah, I missed that connection. Thanks! So we’re going to be hearing a lot more from him, huh?

Noodle (the bones/no bones pug) has passed away 😢 Oh no! Honestly I had to stop really following him because I was worried about this. I’m glad he got to be famous before his time came.

Public health emergency is set to end Jan 11th. It may be extended some, because fed govt said it would give states 60 days notice and they haven't done that. But when it expires 5 to 15 million people many of them children will lose their medicaid insurance coverage.
a bunch will also be seniors who got soc sec raise last year and this year upcoming one might be 10%.
The medicaid requirement is make 138% of federal poverty level. It's unlikely fpl will increase by 10% higher because the numbers used to figure out poverty level run often a year behind.
Congress could soften the blow by raising that 138% to something like 140-150% fpl. Which for a single person in 2022, 138% fpl means they can make $18754 to qualify for medicaid. Raising it to 140% would mean if 2022 fpl is used they could make almost 20k.
With average rent in US at over 1300 a month that's $15600 just for a place to live.
Anyways it's something that needs to be discussed. Because sure those kicked off medicaid can then try to get an insurance policy on the marketplace, bit even the good ones with low monthly prices and low deductibles will mean they now have to pay co-pays for dr visit and medication that will eat up their soc sec 10% raise very very quickly and they be worse off very fast.

Surprised it hasn't been discussed here yet, but in Moore County, NC, around 40,000 residents have been without power since Sunday night due to multiple power stations being "shot up." Authorities haven't announced suspects or motives yet, but there have been rumors that it was to disrupt a local drag show that had been receiving threats. Some areas might not have power back until Thursday since some equipment will have to be completely replaced. I'm shocked (and yet also not), that it hasn't been called terrorism yet. www.cnn.com/2022/12/05/us/power-outage-moore-county-investigation-monday/index.htmlwww.pride.com/politics/drag-show-moore-county

I'm shocked (and yet also not), that it hasn't been called terrorism yet -- intentional destruction of public infrastructure would certainly qualify. I saw some stuff on twitter about it this morning, and how the area is now under a state of emergency. And I agree, this has terrorism written all over it.

I saw that this morning, too. It's definitely terrorism, even if the point wasn't to stop a drag show.
