Is a white bump on a nipple always a bleb, even if it doesn't hurt? I have a white spot, but no pain. I use an SNS (chronic low supply due to IGT) and it's on the side I have the tube on, but I haven't had it with my other babies. I know blebs can cause a decrease in supply, which I don't need, so I was just wondering if I need to work to get this resolved? Thanks for any input!

I have had blebs before and they have always been really uncomfortable, my nipple still gets white stuff on it sometimes, usually dried milk or just LO latched a bit funny, but it doesn't hurt. My blebs were kinda raised too, like something that could be popped. If it's not hurting I wouldn't worry about it unless you feel any blocks/lumps. But someone with more experience might know more...

I'm pretty sure blebs are painful. I have had white spots that aren't really anything but are just there.

I have also had white spots that did not hurt and were not raised at all, just flush with the nipple. They went away with time. I have also had blebs and damn, those are terrible.

Thanks! I guess I'll go with, if it doesn't hurt leave it alone! 😊

I've had white spots that appear after my nipple gets a bit chapped. The chapped skin turns white after nursing and I can eventually scrape it off with a fingernail.
