I saw it! We went opening day as a mid-day date night.

I enjoyed it! Spoilers below; you've been warned!

I'm not a fan of Leticia Wright, given all her anti-vax nonsense, so I wasn't thrilled about the prospect of her becoming Black Panther. But her performance in the movie won me over (somewhat, lol).
Okoye was a badass, as always, and I was devastated to see her fired.
The surprise mid-movie death hurt man. It really hurt. Queen Ramonda is a legend. Her takedown of the French bitch at the UN was *chef's kiss*.

Riri was hysterical and I love her to bits already. Can't wait to see her interact with some of the other newbies we've met recently (Yelena, Ms Marvel, etc).

I absolutely adored Namor. What a fantastic anti-hero! He's too sympathetic to actually call him a villain. The reveal about the meaning behind his name was so bittersweet yet beautiful. I can't wait to see where things go from here with him.

All in all, I really enjoyed the movie. I think they truly did Chadwick Boseman proud. His legacy will definitely live on through this movie (and Toussaint).

I knew the second Namore gave Shuri the bracelet that she was going to use it to make the herb/a suit lol. He was definitely a very interesting character. I wanted to empathize with him but also not completely which of course was the point.

So bummed about the Queen. Angela Bassett is an icon! I want her arms when I’m in my 60s! She’s so fine.

I know Letitia has had some problematic statements recently but man she killed it transitioning to the lead. And the way they paid tribute to Chadwick was so nice. I got chills when the marvel logo came on with all the clips of him. And I loved the mid credits scene with his heir being revealed. So sweet.

Loved Okoye as usual and was so sad for her when she initially had to give up her title. And I also loved the brief return of killmonger.

Even though it was close to 3 hours, it didn’t feel like it at all. It was really well paced.

I cried at the beginning with the marvel logo with just Chadwick and throughout shuri trying to save him. And when his mural was on the side of a building in Wakanda. I’m not crazy about Leticia wright personally but she was awesome. I felt her pain when neither her mom or brother appeared to her.
And I cried at the end again with the after credits scene.
My son was disappointed at shuri being the black panther. He really wanted m’baku (his favorite character) I feel like they kind of insinuated a romance there. Anyone else pick up on that?
It feels a little disloyal to Chadwick but I feel like this movie was even better than the first. [\spoiler]

I finally got to see it and it was so good! They really did a great job making it a tribute to Chadwick Boseman. I loved that it was a movie about dealing with grief and the different forms that takes. I do hope it’s not totally brushed aside in future movies, like Tony’s PTSD was after Iron Man 3. So many ways they could have gone with that, and it was totally forgotten in future movies.

Finally watched it last night. Loved it. I'm glad with how they dealt with T'challa's death. Also loved Riri. Come on Marvel, announce Young Avengers already! They've pretty introduced them all already.

I'm glad they didn't really play around with the notion of someone else becoming Black Panther. And I'm also glad they didn't have Shuri become queen. I think M'Baku will be a good king for Wakanda for now.

They did Namor well, and glad they didn't kill him.
