I just got done voting with my 4 year old. I was number 1316 and there are only 4000 people in our township. I’ve never seen it that busy. The parking lot was full and it was a steady stream of people. Hoping that’s a good sign! Although this is a super red area.

The "privacy" things are about 4" tall on the sides of our machines 🙄 We also had all uncontested seats for local/county positions, all incumbent Rs. So disappointing, but the R vote is always overwhelming anyway 😔 We had a couple of uncontested R seats too. I'm very mad about it. Hence writing myself in for an open spot. I don't even think write ins were allowed for those positions on ours, but I voted for none of them out of principle

DS2's class voted for Skittles or M&Ms today. Here he is in line trying to vote twice 🤣 He came home and told me his teacher wouldn't let him vote again Skittles won

We haven't had a democratic governor since the 90's so pretty much all of our were appointed by an R. My issue is I feel like someone appointed in 2000 *might* be more likely to be closer to the middle than someone that would be appointed now. (I am assuming Evil Calliou's replacement will be Jimmy the pig farmer and will appoint only those that are very far right.) I had a ton of judges on my ballot too. I really wish there was a better resource, there are Dem recommendations for other seats but it seems my only option for judges is Googling and trying to figure out if they're crazy? I really wish there was a voter guide! we had a ton of judges. The lawyers and other judges rate each other a few for the first time got really bad ratings from the other judges in knowledge of the laws. yikes. But it's really hard to determine if they are good or bad decisions without a heck of a lot of research

All of the judge elections on my ballot were uncontested but I took the time to look up which Governor appointed each of them and didn't vote for any of the GOP-appointed ones because one of my co-workers who is related to a judge said they all compare how many votes they get for bragging rights. #petty We haven't had a democratic governor since the 90's so pretty much all of our were appointed by an R. I’m in VA and I voted last week. We have a city council and school board election as well as congressional rep. We have a couple of doozies running for the local stuff including a guy whose kids are homeschooled running for school board. A town or two over from me has a guy running for school board that sends his kids to a private school. 🙄

But she's not up for retention. And I can't find why they dislike her. Is she "too liberal" for them or does she really suck?

I'm kidding, cnf, in case it needs to be said. So gross, though. I could have lived the rest of my life without having to remember that.

Luckily I had to teach today, which kept me distracted.
But now I’m home and reaching out to the few people who told me they were voting today, to make sure they went. I want this so badly but am hearing exit polls are rough, and lines long which doesn’t bode well.

She went K-12 to private even though they lived directly across from the main school. And he’s a white guy and former Republican (not a trumper but Bush era R) it’s a heavily Latinx population district. It doesn’t feel right to me.

I thought this movie was going to have a less depressing/shitty twist. This is no longer helping.

538 called it exactly right exactly one time in 2012 and they've been riding those coattails since. I wouldn't trust them for more than a poll aggregator.
They were off in 16, 20, and specials.

I checked a local who tweets about eviction court’s opinions about who to check no. Especially the judge who said a state ward couldn’t have an ab0rtion b/c too young, but yet old enough. I only retained 2-3 of them.

I made the mistake of looking at county/state results from 2020. I'm feeling overly pessimistic now. Hoping other states can pull this through. It feels really hopeless here.
