It’s a blood bath here in the tech industry. In addition to Twitter layoffs there have been huge reductions at top companies like sales force, Stipe and Zendesk. And yesterday Meta laid off 11,000 employees. Not sure what this will do to housing and other conditions here but it feels not great. the company at which i recently interviewed and still haven't heard from, is in this vein and i just saw a story on it's aching stock price and was just like well shit. Ah, no, I'm sorry 😞

The only upside to my favorite website being destroyed is that Elon Musk is showing the world that he is as exactly as fucking stupid as I have long believed him to be. So he wants Twitter to be a clean tokker's Amazon storefront?

'Florida Sen. Rick Scott made a plea to about 35 of his colleagues during lunch at the National Republican Senatorial Committee offices in early August: Send money to the NRSC from your personal campaign accounts. The candidates were in need. But Scott’s hopes of a united GOP response were dashed as soon as Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) stood to address the same room: Send 20 percent of the money from their leadership PACs, he told the senators, to the Senate Leadership Fund, an outside group controlled by his own loyalists, according to a person familiar with the matter. The implication, said multiple people familiar with the exchange, was that senators needed to choose sides in a months-long battle between the two Senate leaders about the best strategy for winning, a conflict that would have serious consequences in the fall.' They're just absolutely coming at Rick Scott this week 'The fact that he had already recorded a video makes clear Scott’s intended audience went beyond his 49 GOP colleagues and extended to Republican voters, who polls show do not like McConnell. “He’s decided he doesn’t want to be an inside player in the Senate, so he had nothing to lose,” said one establishment-aligned Republican senator about Scott’s aborted plans. “It wouldn’t have mattered if he got five, 10 or 15 votes – he was showing off to the base.” www.politico.com/news/magazine/2022/11/10/rick-scott-mcconnell-midterm-elections-martin-00066400

This is funny because isn't she also pointing fingers, laying blame elsewhere and not taking responsibility???

Michael Harriot called Elon Musk the Milli Vanilli of billionaires and I promptly died. Borrowing from the prince of SA and not being required to repay seems like a risky move…..

This is funny because isn't she also pointing fingers, laying blame elsewhere and not taking responsibility??? yea, and get this - she was like #5 in line of "qualified" candidates in the primary but 1-4 were disqualified because of fraud 🤣 so she was literally shoved to the top of the ticket and there was a mad dash to make her viable (when De vos & TFG stepped in). She only got the votes she did because of party loyalty (another shocker, I know).

This is such an accurately bizarre description. the way some people's brains work is a work of art. 🤣 Right? A sketch artist surely would come up with a nearly perfect rendering. I wasn’t even certain he was who I was thinking and didn’t even have to google to be completely certain after that.

Insulin should absolutely be free though, or just about.

Insulin should absolutely be free though, or just about. Yeah I’m not particularly sad about the company’s profit margin. Is this what anarchy looks like?

Insulin should absolutely be free though, or just about. Yeah I'm not mad about the initial troll tweet in that case. I think it's going to open some interesting conversations about access to life saving medication.

Insulin should absolutely be free though, or just about. I think that about a lot of meds. I know they can be expensive to research or develop, but it's ridiculous. Life saving meds, chemo, insulin, etc. People shouldn't have to make the choices they do to not die.
