I also think Eugene was ready to be done with TG, and got pulled in by Ned who came up with the company idea. And he's been absent a lot more lately, probably figuring he could do other projects bc the company was chugging along. Once again, he's either going to be pulled in or have to hurt people. This is why this situation is really not your "average" celeb cheating scandal. Ned fucked over so many people, and though his family are the biggest victims here, there are a lot of others who are having to make major life decisions bc he couldn't just not fuck someone who wasn't his wife. He went absent because of his other projects that he had been working on for a very long time. Some of them for longer than the Try Guys existed. They all just happened to come to fruition at the same time. He replied to speculation that he was backing away from the company with an emphatic no. I think that the fact that he has made a conscious choice to stay when he clearly has more options adds to his anger that Ned would just throw it all away. I really missed Eugene's energy when he was gone. I don't think that I'm going to miss Ned's energy. He was always either milk toast, saccharine or a very weird macho that made no sense. Part of me wants a 4th Try Guy to take Ned's place, but part of me wants the guys to just try being a trio for a while. Yes I said doing other projects.

His use of the word consensual on his statement is something I've been chewing on. Maybe it was but I'd be willing to bet money that other creepy workplace shit starts coming out when the investigate. 1000000% and it’s already circulating that he’s weird in bars.

I have found some of the Twitter response around this really weird. Like people are saying Ned is being treated like a SERIAL MURDERER by having consequences. Or, even more fun, people that overreact to affairs are uptight, old fashioned, whatever.
If my husband ever cheats on me, there will be consequences and I don't care if I get called an uptight bitch over it...? My BIL just got fired a few months ago for a "consensual" workplace affair. This is a perfectly normal response.

This is a perfectly normal response. From what I'm understanding, he was her boss and acted as their HR dept. Which means not only did he have an affair that ruined his personal brand, he opened the entire company up to lawsuits. He got exactly what he deserved and they are doing what they need to in order to cover their asses.

Lol, I just saw a tiktok that described them as Hurt (on the right), Sad (middle), and Legally contained wrath (left). That totally checks out.

So they are moving on without Ned. They should rebrand as Tri Guys.

I loved their screaming short last night (Keith and Zach, with Eugene facetiming in, taking a few seconds to just scream). It was titled "What we wanted to sat last week".
Hope that worked.
But yes, I am sure that is the tip of the iceberg of what they wanted to say last week.

She’s been with them since day one, and is the mom of the company, from videos. She’s also a cancer survivor, twice.

The new Trypod podcast is out on spotify. Keith and Zach talking about the emotional fallout, no specifics on legal issues, obviously.

I can't tell if I'm coming in biased but I don't think Ned brings a lot to the table and they'd be fine without him.

Also, they seem unqualified to write a cookbook? Like I said, I had an early copy. It was cute, and it was much more set up like ways to make stuff as a couple while the kids are sleeping or whatever. The publishing team did a great job on it. No idea what Ned and Ariel's actual involvement was, my friend isn't saying. But none of these books written by influencers/celebs/housewives are really all them. Or even mostly them. They work with "real" food developers. eta Also as another point to the "you selfish asshole" column for Ned - she worked on this project for over a year, and was really proud of it. It was her first huge release on this scale. And now it's being pulled and pulped. She can't take any enjoyment or pleasure out of it. She told me Ariel is so nice, and that she (my friend) just can't even talk about it bc it's so sad to her.

Just listened to the podcast.
I will be deeply disappointed if Keith or Zach are proven assholes later, bc right now they are handling this as perfectly as you could ask for. Honest and open, but not giving anyone info that frankly the public isn't entitled to (about Ariel, kids, Alex, Will, etc).

It's so interesting hearing how connected they are to social media, how they were monitoring the internet for breaking news because they knew it was coming, and even making fun references to things they've seen online in the past week. I've been watching them since they were with Buzzfeed and I will continue to watch even without Ned. I even considering joining their Patreon this week, just as a little extra support while they work through the financial mess that this has left them in.

It's just extra annoying because he was in a show regularly making mediocre at best, but often inedible foods, highlighting the fact that he doesn't have enough food knowledge and has no business developing his own recipes.

Like she worked on it and for it to be just completely wiped out and such a bad reminder, that sucks so much.

The Try Wives had a podcast themselves. They are also often in videos, even without the guys.
Becky is Keith's wife, Maggie is Zach's fiancé, and Ariel (Ned's wife).
Matt, Eugene's boyfriend, is also heavily involved in the channel.
That's why this is so much bigger than I think people formerly unfamiliar with the channel understand - the families were part of it. Ned and Ariel had a parenting podcast under the umbrella as well.
It's not just his private life independent of the company.
It's now blown up You Can Sit With Us, the girls' podcast. Which was putting up HUGE numbers for the company.
Ariel and her firm (she is the owner) literally were the hired designer for their huge new office. So that was a big part of her team's portfolio.
If you go back through their past videos, you can see how much the partners were involved in content.

Also, I might as well all in and admit my real former Buzzfeed love are Ryan and Shane, formally of Unsolved and now Watcher.
I was extremely happy that they and Safiya didn't say a word when this broke. It made me feel my enjoyment of them was warranted.

Their first post-Ned video has come out and Alexandria is no longer listed in the staff list in the YouTube description bar.
