Important seed pearl and diamond tiara, Cartier, circa 1909 Commissioned in 1909 from Cartier Paris by Sir Hugh Montagu Allan for his wife Marguerite Ethel, née Mackenzie, and taken with her on the ill fated final voyage of the RMS Lusitania in 1915. The tiara was with Lady Allan's maids when they were rescued from the shipwreck. Thence by family decent. Estimate 295,000 - 445,000 CHF  I want this for the story behind it alone. Right?? |

A gem-set and enamelled gold Tiara (taj), Morocco, circa 1800 The present crown was probably used in wedding ceremonies and would have been worn by both Muslim and Jewish brides Estimate 10,000 - 15,000 GBP  It looks like a Muppet face with purple eyes and a big green nose Can’t unsee now. |

Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, 2011, The Royal Wedding.  This seems a bitnunfair. I don't think their dresses are that bad and deserve inclusion on a "worst of" list. The toilet seat hat is one I will never forget lol |

Not so fun fact, I look okay straight on but at one point in my life someone pointed out that I kind of have a big nose and it’s noticeable in my side profile and did it bother me. Well… it didn’t until someone said that and it’s been decades and I still remember the person saying that… Be kind with your words people 😂 I had an ex tell me as we were breaking up that side profile showed my witchy nose. We were teenagers but still. Yes my nose kinda hooks at the end in profile but cool your jets man! I already knew it and was obsessed with it in a not great way. What a jerk!!! I’m sorry he said that |

Queen Elizabeth herself makes it onto the list, from 1984. The tiara is the only saving grace.  When I see pictures like this all I can focus on is how wrinkled the skirt looks lol |

I think we might be forgetting just how heinous so many dresses in the 80s were. The first Fergie dress was horrible even for the 80s. Some of the others ones, though, seem kind of par for the course. I remember this bridesmaids dress I had to wear in 1989 and OMG--pink, green, and black floral, white satin sash, long sleeved with lace peeking out from the sleeves (I think), huge lace collar, ankle length, white tights, large pink hairbow.

Beatrice, 2008, at cousin Peter Phillips' wedding.  I absolutely love this one, and especially love the matching hat. I find this fun. It’s sort of awful but the rainbow of colors and the butterflies amuses me |
