Diamond bracelet/tiara combination Estimate 13,000 - 20,000 CHF  Countess Ilona Edelsheim-Gyulai de Marosnémethi et Nádaska (14 January 1918 – 18 April 2013) was a Hungarian noblewoman and wife of István Horthy, son of Regent Miklós Horthy and Deputy Regent of Hungary for a short time in 1942. He was deeply opposed to the Nazi regime. After the war, the Countess gave this jewel to her spiritual adviser in Southeast Asia so that he could sell it for funds. He chose not to sell it and instead gave it to his granddaughter who in a twist of fate ended up marrying the Countess’ son, thus bringing the bracelet/bandeau back into the family. |
