Has it been confirmed by Harry and Meghan’s spokesperson that she isn’t coming? They have said to only take news if it is from them. I believe they did that I am seeing now

I'm so happy for Harry that they are close and he has been able to get there quickly. It's a tough enough situation without having a large distance to travel as well.

Those were some quick moving cars for a road like that. They really were rushing.

I am sure Meghan will be there for services et al. She doesn't really know the Queen, and perhaps they are respecting wishes we aren't aware of. My guess is she doesn't want there to be tension when there already is some surrounding her especially right now. I would agree. It’s already going to be an emotionally charged event/meeting, no need to add that extra layer to it. I 100% wouldn’t be welcome to be there if my MIL or FIL was dying. And I’d only go if H wanted me with him.

I wouldn’t want to go if I were Meghan. No shade to that decision.

I'm sure she and Harry discussed. As long as it's what Harry wanted then I think that's really what matters right now.

The crazy thing is depending on his health, Charles may only rule for like, 10 years. Which seems like nothing when you're used to a Queen ruling for 70 freaking years.

I recently (a year ago) navigated H's grandma dying. He went out to say goodbye to her by himself. The added stress and expense wasn't worth it for me and the kids to go. He went and had his time with his grandma and it was really important.
I can absolutely see Meghan and Harry doing the same. They can be in constant touch via phone calls or texting or whatever. It's probably easier for everyone that way.

Do we know if they are there yet? Either way, we know there’s no winning in the media. No matter what Meghan does hopefully she’s protecting herself and her mental health and if that means don’t go then don’t go.

Yeah, I’m just going to assume Meghan is following Harry’s lead and doing what he is most comfortable with. And that he took her feelings into consideration when deciding what he would do. Because that’s how most people who love each other behave.
I know the media will do their thing though.

The media speculation on who is or is not there is ridiculous. In times like these it needs to be “You do you” and no judgment.

I hope Will and Harry can mend something over this.
I doubt it, grief rarely helps and add coronation nonsense on top of it.
But maybe.

Also, with all the very valid criticism of the Queen and the Royals, its sad that the death of this woman who has had - good or bad - massive impact on world history, is being reduced to petty and nasty gossip about family stuff.

I hope this is peaceful for everyone

Pretty wild to think of when it's framed that way. MSNBC said this morning that she has met something like 14 US presidents and listed them all off, starting at maybe Truman? It was kind of amazing to realize.

Two observations:
1) To echo others, I'm so glad that, should this be the end, Harry happened to be in the country already and could get there quickly. I can only imagine how hard it would be for him if she died while he was far away.
2) the main reason I'd be sad about her demise is that it means she wouldn't break the record. After she made it to #2 on the list, I had hoped she be able to make it 2 more years and become the longest ruling/serving monarch.

Its also just symbolic of how her generation is almost gone. She’s just a few years younger than my grandparents which reminds me how much I miss them (both made it to their mid90s.) Also in my work, adult witnesses to WWII are so important and their warnings about those events, the rise of fascism, etc are just really powerful.

I'm a bit behind on the live feed but the BBC reporter speculating that Meghan wasn't traveling to Balmoral because she "wouldn't be welcome" is some bullshit. Glad I'm watching Sky News, then, despite their previous mistake on who was traveling when. They've made no speculation on her not going, only reporting the update that she is not. Come to think of it, they haven't really mentioned Kate either. I appreciate this rather restrained reporting. Eta- I take it back. But someone talking on it now is only speculating she is staying away because Kate is, leaving it to just the grandsons travelling (which makes sense). At least they're not being scandalous about it. Kate, I read, is staying in England to take the kids to their first day of school This is incredibly sad because end of the day it is someone's mother, grandmother, etc
