they love their ceremonies Yeah, Prince of Wales isn’t just like automatic. You have to be given it and have a ceremony. Just like “Princess Royal” is a separate title that is given. |

Google tells me he immediately becomes king upon her death. If it is anything like the royal books I read this is correct. He takes an oath in private with the right people and is King and a coronation comes later for the public. Oh. The Privy Council. I think they said that’s why the Queen added Camilla to it- so she could be there when he takes that oath. |

Charles is at Balmoral, though. The flag flying is appropriate there either way. Right I just meant if he wasn’t, would they take it down? That’s why I don’t think she died overnight before he arrived. I think removing the flag when she died would cause an uproar and confusion, something they have painstakingly tried to not let happen. The plans for the queen’s death have been carefully laid out since the 1960s with controlled announcements of her death. |

Fergie is on the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival as we speak so we'll see if she says anything to the press. Part of the royal protocol: “Don’t tell Fergie anything until 5 minutes before the funeral!” I think you mean after. Can’t have her gate crashing. |

Given the distance from Aberdeen airport to Balmoral, I'm a little surprised there's not a helipad on the grounds of the estate. You'd think they'd want a direct flight for emergencies at least, if not for convenience.

Realizing my UK geography is lacking. Just found out it’s a 9 hour drive from London to Balmoral. So probably a couple hour flight?

My flight to NC which is about 12.5 hours away would be 1.5 hours non stop |
