I would love to know more about Tim Laurence. Like how their relationship has worked for so long. For them , since 1992 seems like a really long time. And she seems just so headstrong, does she dominate the relationship or are they both that way and just butt heads then kiss and make up? Do you remember the pictures of Princess Anne in their house? I feel like their life seems very mundane at home. |

I think monitoring how the public writ large is reacting to this is important as we talk about monarchy, it's use, it's continuation, and all that. It's a popular refrain that the public doesn't want them. Then we see what happens with major events such as the boys' weddings, the jubilee, the funeral. It's never going to be everyone, and that's an idiotic thing to have to asterisk, but it's more than I was expecting to be frank. It has me evaluating how much of that is lip service, because clearly there is great public sentiment. Like many people say they hate the Kardashians, and the ratings are better than ever. Etc. The people that like them have a whole range of reasonings for it. They mean different things to different people. Like I said. I don’t think the majority are for them in any other way than.. they’re a thing they are used to being there. Why do you pledge to a flag every day at school? Or find it normal to do at a sport event? It’s just how it’s always been, right? The average person isn’t putting extensive thought into that stuff. And like I said, now it’s at the forefront of something, the apathetic will hopefully come closer to the side that does dissent. At the risk of sounding like I am coming for you pledging to a flag and the national anthem at sporting events are in fact things being pushed back on and many aren't doing it because it is what is done they attribute it to the Military and the sacrifices of those in service that fought for freedom and that is why many are against it since America is not in fact free. |

I thought QEII would have let Harry serve but his location or details got leaked and that increased the threat to him and everyone else in his unit? I mean she was ok with Phillip doing real service right?
Idk maybe she offered him something not so risky, like Will flying air ambulances and Harry said “if it’s not front lines I don’t want it”. (Because some people are like that… looking at you MH 👀).

Maybe others have a different perspective than me, that’s ok. My view of what the general British public think of all this and the royal family as a whole maybe be off. I only have my personal lived experienced that I’m basing this on. I only had one person on my fb who said anything in a nice way about the Queens death. I post on a majority British forum where everyone feels the same way I do. None of my friend group growing up would ever attend these these types of events. This is where my point of view is coming from. These are also the British folks I know. They definitely exist. But as long as the masses attend stuff like this, the monarchy isn't going anywhere. I'm not sure what it would take for a majority to really take a stand against it. For the record: I for one am not saying that I don't believe there are British citizens who want the monarch to go away. I 100% believe that the citizens hate that they pay taxes to this family. BUT I also see the crowds at their events, I see the crowds right now, I see the amount of flowers being left and fully believe that the monarch isn't going anywhere unless those crowds go away and they are forced to do away with them. |

I remember a quote he made back then basically saying he didn't put his ass through Sandhurst to essentially sit on the sides while others put their lives at risk. |

I’m going to go out on a limb and say that even most of the people lining the street to wave at coffin wouldn’t get a QEII/Paddington tattoo. I mean, there’s a scale of extreme fandom. That’s not new information.

Also philo since we are going to make this post a thing too I don't like to call things weird so to speak which is why I say oh I have private thoughts. So I am not disagreeing but as I've said to you plenty in the past I don't necessarily like the word weird. But I am sure I've used it in the past so I am not saying I haven't. |
