Yep. I go to Prague next month and you bet your ass I'm going to see castles and cathedrals despite hating monarchy and not being religious. One can appreciate architecture for architecture's sake and history for history's sake. It sure as hell doesn't mean we have an encompassing love for terrible figures and purposes they represent. I have talked race in these thread since Meghan became part of the picture because that is when I started posting. I have been told that I bring race into everything, been told that not everything is a comparison and so many other things so to act like you are the only one ever called out is just so eye rolling.
I literally stopped posting for a few months because of it so miss me with all of it.

Get a reservation at Hemingway Bar. It’s worth it. Lokal is also worth it, for bar food and beer. Krystal Bistro makes everyone’s top 10 list, but we didn’t love it. Nase Maso has a meatloaf sandwich that is the single best thing I have ever eaten, but you have to like meatloaf. Awesome, thank you! I may skip the meatloaf, but Hemingway Bar and Lokal will definitely go on the list. DH and I are only there for 3 days/ 4 nights, so it's packed full except for food things. We need the suggestions. |

Plain and simple this is a big deal in the grand scheme of things no matter what. This is something we have never been witnessed to. So yes it is going to be watched by some. Yup. And this is the reason I am in this thread! I am …. Enjoying seems like the wrong word to use, but I am interested in seeing how this all plays out because we’ve never seen this happen. I no curr about her or the family or have sadness over her death but just the process is fascinating. And I do like H&M. So I am enjoying the info and commentary even if I don’t care about her actually dying. |

I am sure they aren't thinking about the Royal family daily, but the citizens show up for weddings, jubilees, etc. so they do care. They tore Meghan to shreds for being Black (citizens and media) so it starts over there NOT in America. I didn’t mean to imply that all Brits just have them as some background entity because obviously yes as you say some people attend these events etc. but I’m talking on the ones that don’t have a strong opinion either way because they’ve never really thought about it, and hopefully they come to see how bad of a thing it is now there’s something immediately in their face about this institution. some |

Sure. There is something a little “burn the crops before the queen” about food being left out. But it’s also a reference to a cartoon thing, so it could have been a kid? Either way, seems like whoever is in charge of all the flowers and shit have asked for the sandwiches to stop, so hopefully they do! People (Americans) when they meet a British person will do a bit where they talk in a posh British Queen like voice and talk about tea. |
