I think M looked awkward at the end, but it was also probably a lot of overstimulation. People calling her name all over the place and she probably just shut down for a second to find Harry's voice to know what's next.

It didn’t read that way to me. It read as just normal, human logistics. And Will was looking for his wife, touching her arm, in a warmth that I don’t think always reads in photos. Idk. They just seem like people doing their best in this moment. To me. I feel like any time I'm leaving a funeral adjacent gathering there's a weird rounding up of people and deciding who is riding with whom. And the four of them were talking to people, someone was still handing Harry flowers, it was probably loud and chaotic. And William always has to round up Kate. She’s always talking to people longer than him and I swear every engagement he’s like “someone get my wife we have to go now.”

I'm truly bummed for the Queen of Denmark and how her jubilee is being toned down and overshadowed.

I noticed this too. She looks pretty uncomfortable (understandable so) Will literally had to get Kate to come over so they all could talk about leaving. So much awkward It didn’t read that way to me. It read as just normal, human logistics. And Will was looking for his wife, touching her arm, in a warmth that I don’t think always reads in photos. Idk. They just seem like people doing their best in this moment. To me. I've only seen little clips, I was referring to when they were leaving. I hope there is some warmth all around and it's not so awkward behind the sceens

Oh this is a thing. You have to tell bees when their people die. An apiarist told me about it. Truly not a paragraph I ever thought I'd type here. Ok after everything shared, this what got me choked up. The bees!

As someone who went from W to C on the line I do feel bad for them going the opposite. 😂 What if their teachers heard them get the Cornwall name, redo their school stuff to that last name, then wait... now it's Wales and have to redo again. I know it’s not THE reason but I was thinking Will and Harry had the same last name from birth to marriage. I have to think it crossed the mind of maybe at least Kate that them getting the Wales title now prevents their kids from changing last names every few years.

I'm truly bummed for the Queen of Denmark and how her jubilee is being toned down and overshadowed. And I believe they were friends, so she’s also grieving during this special moment. It’s so sad all around.

I cannot fathom having to process my grief and also console the public. I have wondered if it would be triggering for them, as the viewing of flowers etc was like what they did when Diana died. 😔

The kids could theoretically still go by Cambridge since that title was a gift from the queen. William has a whole grab bag of titles and keeps that one. If Kate really wants her kids to have a "normal life" I could see her lobbying to just leave things be.

See I don’t see them as cold. I think they are use to their roles. Meghan and Harry are closer because, I figure, she needs reassurance whenever she’s with his family. Also what a weird thing to have to do, go see millions of people to show your grief. Just like when they boys, following their mother's casket in front of millions. Like how does one separate all of these emotions with obligations? So weird.

It’s wonderful that we have managed to attract the attention of the least-nuanced foremost expert on both Britain and America. It's really impressive. It's like Zweber & Socks had a baby.

I saw a Tiktok that someone on twitter back in June guessed that QEII would pass on 9/8 of this year and has a guess that Charles will pass sometime in 2026. There was an exact date, but I don't remember what it was.

His swollen hands and rhinophyma he doesn’t look to be in the good health she’s always appeared to have.

Even if Charles reigns into his 90’s that’s only 20 years. And that seems unlikely, but who knows. I get a weird feeling thinking about them dying and the next person taking over. It has to be really strange to be in line for the throne.

I'm confused that Harry was still a Counsellor because it says they have to be living in the UK. I could have sworn he was not on the list anymore. Now I’m confused. I just saw an article that because they maintained possession of Frogmore Cottage (UK address) that he could remain a Counsellor

I don’t like anything about a 6 billion pound funeral for some cunt when the country is in a cost of living crisis and people are set to die this winter. People cannot afford food or to heat their homes. Then don’t go. Or watch it. Do you live in the Uk? I don't care about your feels on philo. But this mentality is annoying to me. Where i live currently does not dictate how I feel about the polítics or policies of my other home country. Most of us not living in the country we grew up in still have family there and care very deeply about what happens there. Don't bring in bs like that to this conversation.

Don’t know the original source but this about sums it up.. ‘The purpose of Operation London Bridge and the cancellations of carnivals, sporting events and cultural events is to ensure that no opposition to the monarchy can cohere in the interregnum. The period between the death of one monarch and the coronation (or at least the establishment of an appearance of the popularity) of another is a time of weakness in which the institution can be called into question. This is no more than case than when a relatively popular monarch is being succeeded by a much less popular one. Put bluntly, they don’t want football fans chanting against big ears and his child rapist brother or strikers criticising the institution on the television. They want people - especially working class people - stuck at home, atomised and forced to watch the 24 hour propaganda on the television and radio. Why do you think the UK Parliament Petitions site is suddenly closed to new petitions? What sort of petition do you think they are worried about at the moment? It should also be curious that basic aspects of democracy shut down while cricket goes ahead. Of course, there’s the possibility of overreach. I reckon a significant part of the population will be sick of this shit within a few days. Whether that can cohere into an anti-royalist mood within certain sections of the society depends on the arguments put out by socialists and what struggles emerge over the coming week. Sadly, I’m seeing some left wingers, including many journalists and self-styled commentators, failing to put forward the necessary arguments on the basis that we need to respect those who are great fans of the monarchy. Sorry, but monarchism isn’t some private religious faith that we are all bound by basic morality to tolerate. British nationalism and monarchism are actually political ideologies that need to be argued against. It’s no good being a republican except when the monarchy itself is actually in the spotlight. As for those asking for a cessation of any democratic discussion about the constitution as a mark of respect for a dead woman, I say this: if you want to mourn her like a kindly old grandma, do so. But don’t mount two weeks of state pageantry and tell me it’s not about politics. If the prime minister can claim in front of the television cameras that she was the “greatest leader”, I am free to counter that she was a mascot for colonialism and white supremacy (in its literal sense) as well as a paedophile protector who paid £12 million in looted and stolen cash to shield a child rapist from justice. Given that, I’m heartened to see a large demonstration in London today in solidarity with the family of Chris Kaba, a 24 year old black man murdered by (her majesty’s) police in Streatham days ago. Solidarity also to barristers who are still on strike, thus demonstrating the needlessness of CWU and RMT postponing their action for this entire period of national “mourning”.‘ tl;dr
