Oh my god. 'Shortly before Mr. Garland made the announcement, a person close to Mr. Trump reached out to a Justice Department official to pass along a message from the former president to the attorney general. Mr. Trump wanted Mr. Garland to know he had been checking in with people around the country and found them to be enraged by the search. “The country is on fire,” Mr. Trump said, according to a person familiar with the exchange. “What can I do to reduce the heat?” The following day, as a judge unsealed the warrant and the inventory of items that the F.B.I. took, Mr. Trump alternately claimed he did nothing wrong and also made the baseless statement that officials may have planted evidence on him.'

Nice country you got there, Attorney Geberal, shame if it erupted into civil war because you didn't let me crime freely

Something not TFG related
Not sure how much I’ve mentioned this here, but we have a private company (Heritage) working with our mayor to tear down our downtown library to allow an insurance company build a “skyline” building (we have no skyline or very many decent views of what would be one anyway). Anywho, they are putting part of the library into an abandoned warehouse and an abandoned shopko. The one won’t be ready because of planning. Turns out they are flying by the seat of their pants. It is an unnecessary and expensive shitshow.
Books. They forgot about the BOOKS for the library.

At my university, they used to say that the library sank like a 1/4 inch (I can’t remember the exact amount) every year because they didn’t take into account the weight of the books when it was designed… And I went to a prestigious science and engineering school 😬

The news about Salman Rushdie just makes me so sad. He's such an amazing writer and has been through so much for the sake of his art. It's awful.

I'm getting around to reading the Trump vs generals story in the New Yorker and ran across "Rex Tillerson" in a sentence and whoa...

One of the things he kept was the fucking Sharpie map!
"A National Weather Service map of Hurricane Dorian, which Trump had famously marked up with a black Sharpie pen to extend to Alabama."

I’ve moved a small academic library. It took 12-14 pallets stacked 6 feet high. Just our weeding alone was 20k lbs! Everyone underestimates libraries and librarians.

In odd news, this morning there was a boom and my house rattled a little. Turns out there was a meteor that crashed into the atmosphere. I think most of northern Utah felt/heard/saw it.

Showed 6yo and he said sometimes it is a meteor and sometimes it is an alien spaceship. So please let him know any further developments.

Just our weeding alone was 20k lbs! Everyone underestimates libraries and librarians. When the district library branch I worked at got a new building, it took soooooo many pallets and trucks to move all the books, plus cd's, dvds, records, computers, etc. It was a massive undertaking. It is most definitely not a small thing switch locations.

I would recommend Utah for any aliens, the southern part of the state does look like another planet.
