Well that's horrifying, especially from a person who professes to love the ocean. We must cease this conversation. Well then

That would be amazing. So amazing. DH is pretty anti camping, so we would need to do a house. But a huge house would be amazing. We stayed in a tiny VRBO place that was wonderful but doesn't allow kids, so we'll need a new place. I haven't done it yet, but I'm pretty sure I'm anti-camping with kids. Lol. I mentioned camping to M today and she asked me what it is. I told her that it was where you sleep outside in a tent and get to cook your food in a fire and go in the water if there is a place nearby. She said, "I don't think I want to do that." I replied, "Oh that's too bad, but Daddy doesn't like camp either, so no one is going to make you." Then she said, "I don't want to sleep in the the water or put my food in the fire. Just sleep in a tent outside." It took a hilarious few moments to unravel her confusions. Now she's cool with the idea.

There's this resort in Bali that has amazing villas with private pools and a car that takes you to the local restaurants... if you get sick of room service, that is. I'd like to hide out there for a while. Will 3k cover this? #rules On second though... no.

Iceland! I have had several friends go there, apparently flights are pretty reasonable and it is seriously gorgeous.
Other ideas: all-inclusive island vacation, somewhere like Turks and Caicos or the Bahamas. It's a lovely thing to be able to just lounge on the beach and drink margaritas and do nothing for a week.
In the US, I'd go to somewhere gorgeous and outdoorsy, like Sedona or Yellowstone or Grand Teton and stay in a lodge and hike. If you like to ski/snowboard, Banff in Alberta, Canada is amaaaaazing. Worth it alone for the 360 mountain views.

I'd go back to our favorite villa in Costa Rica. Their food an drinks were the best I've ever had. Plus pool plus beach. Yes, please!

I would use the $3000 to buy a used rv. Then vacation is whenever we want it to be!
We recently went on a 3 week vacation without B... so my current dreams are near home.

DH originally wanted us to go to the Smoky Mountains for our honeymoon but he wasn't able to get enough time off of work and I've still never been, so I'd like to go there. Our actual honeymoon included Vegas, Sedona, and the Grand Canyon, and I wish we could go back and spend more time at each of those places too.

Wait, will $3000 cover Scotland? Wouldn't it be almost $2k for flights for you & YH? Plus lodging? You could make it work but flights are such a killer. Vietnam is incredibly cheap once you're there and has some beautiful landscapes. I planned out a whole trip to Vietnam a few years ago and then... DS happened.

I went in high school but had a bad eardrum rupture as soon as we got there and I spent the entire trip cracked out on codeine. So my memory is very fuzzy but the pictures I took were beautiful.
