This is the Waiting to do Something thread posted once a week (usually on Mondays - sometimes not) for those of us that experience long, extended cycles. Whether it's medicated cycles, long (45ish + days) cycles, postpartum/breastfeeding, TTA, on the bench, or something else, this is the place we gather throughout the week to discuss and vent about our slightly unique situation.

**LC mentioned**
What kind of TWs are we doing in this thread? Figured I'd include it JIC and will leave it off in the future if we agree it wasn't needed.
Numbers: n/a
Circumstances: 10 months postpartum - still breastfeeding and awaiting my first PP period. Planning to start TFAS in March once DS is 18 months.
Rants: Only kind-of a rant - since we're not ready to actually start TFAS yet, I'm perfectly happy not having a period. But some days it freaks me out a bit that it still hasn't come back.
Also, I forgot my coffee in the car this morning and it has been absolutely pouring since I realized it. My "coffee-emergency" instant coffee just didn't cut it.
Raves: Nothing today.
No Flame No Shame Questions: Don't have anything for this today either.
QOTW: What is one thing you love about where you live? If you could change something, what would it be? Our neighborhood is pretty great. I love that we're "rural" enough that the houses are not on top of each other, but we're still close to stores and everything. I wish the house was just a bit bigger. It's 3 bedrooms, but 4 probably would have been better. My biggest issue, which we didn't learn until after we closed, is that depending on how the wind is moving the local airport departures go right over our house. They're technically not supposed to according to the official flight plans, but they do all the time. The 10pm UPS during December is ridiculous and shakes our house.

Nymeria My kid will be 2 in a couple weeks and I am on my 7th pp cycle. Born in August, period came the following december, so whats that like...16 months? I think breastfeeding has something to do with it.

Yogurt - That is a long time! I'm assuming it's at least in part because of bf-ing. I work from home 2 days a week so I'm still nursing on demand more than half the week.

Numbers: TTC since October 2014 (including 1 year break), 1 CP. Starting IUI #1 as soon as CD1 arrives (femara, monitoring, trigger shot, progesterone)
Circumstances: Low Morphology and Motiliy, lazy ovaries (irregular cycles)
Rants: WAITING FOR FOREVER FOR CD1
Raves:
No Flame No Shame Questions : If you have taken Provera, how long did it take your period to arrive?
QOTW: What is one thing you love about where you live (apartment, house, condo, houseboat, wherever)? If you could change something, what would it be?
One thing I love: the patio One thing I'd change: the upper bath (which we are this week!)

Thank you Nymeria! I'm not sure if TW are needed in this thread since they aren't typically used on GKU. I'm up for using them or not. That sucks about the airplanes flying over your house. Is that a deal breaker for you or are y'all going to stay in that house? I hope CD1 comes ASAP fatpony! What are you doing to your upper bathroom? That's exciting! AFM... **TW Loss** Numbers: Cycle 13, Month 19, CD 7. 1st cycle/month benched. Circumstances: Benched for 3 months for MC with Methotrexate on 7/14/17 Rants: It sucks being benched, especially after a MC after TTC for 18 months. Some days are good and some days aren't. Raves: I think I'm finally done bleeding from my MC. I want to have sex again dang it! NFNSQ: Following a MC, were your cycles the same as before or were they longer or shorter? QOTW: I love that we have almost 6 acres! We definitely need to change some paint colors and some bathroom decor. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Personally I tend to lean towards TW for loss discussions, but not for LC or pregnancies in a thread like this. If this were the TTCAL thread my opinion would have been the reverse - TW for LC and BFP/pregnancies but not losses.
I would also be ok with no TWs, but lets see what everyone thinks and go from there.

TW - loss and BFP mentioned orangehibiscus - I was 7 weeks when my MMC was identified and used misoprostol to get things moving since my body hadn't done anything on its own yet. I bled for about a week, plus another week of spotting. 2 weeks after the spotting started (so a month after the miso), I got my period. That first post-loss cycle I O'd late and had a very short LP. My 2nd cycle post-loss was pretty much back to normal except I O'd a few days earlier than usual again. LP was back to normal.

I'm fine with TW for loss, but not BFP/pregnancy. Anyone else have any thoughts? **TW Loss** Thanks for sharing Nymeria. So my first day of bleeding with my MC counts as CD1 right? I assume all that counting still goes on as in a cycle that didn't result in pregnancy. I normally have long cycles, and we are benched for 3 months. If guess I will call for Provera if I make it close to the 3 month mark without a period. I need to order some OPKs so we can effectively TTA. We really dislike condoms, but we might have to use them around my FW just to make sure I won't get pregnant. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

orangehibiscus - My chart has CD1 as the day I started bleeding. There is also a MC box in the "Specific" section in Fertility Friend. It seems to override the fact that there are positive pregnancy tests in that cycle. I asked FF about it when my loss happened and they said if you select it, make sure you do so at the end of the chart where the loss occurred, not at the beginning of your next one. There's no reason you have to check it, other than it excludes that cycle from stats. Condoms definitely suck, but they're probably not a bad idea for the few months. Better safe than sorry since mtx requires bench time.

Nymeria I did mark the miscarriage box, and I marked my first day of bleeding as CD1. I thought I would welcome a break from TTC after my loss, but all I want to do is try again. I guess I'll add condoms to the grocery store list...boo! October isn't that far away, especially considering that next week starts August. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

orangehibiscus - I felt the same way. Like the only thing that would "fix" having had a loss would be to succeed again. I hope you can find ways to treat yourself during this forced break so it doesn't wear on you. October really will be here before we know it!

Yes Nymeria. It does feel like "fixing it" will only come from getting pregnant again. I couldn't figure out how to express what I was feeling, but that is exactly it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Well my beta was 2 today, which is negative. I don't have to do anymore blood work...yippee!
The RE wants me to go on BCP for our 3 month bench time. It seems weird to go on BCP, but we despise condoms. BCP would give us the freedom from not having to use condoms, so I think that's what I'll do. H says it doesn't matter to him, and it's up to me. I won't have to worry about BCPs messing up my cycles either because we're going to be using injectibles next time.

orangehibiscus - That's great your "zero" now! I remember that feeling like the first goal towards getting back to TTC. I'm not too surprised by the dr recommending BCP for your mandatory bench time. And sounds like it could be a great option since you don't like condoms anyway.

Numbers: TTC since Christmasish 2015. Break in February and March 2017 for job change/FMLA eligibility. Then put on the bench around Easter after being diagnosed with severe asthma, with an extended hospital stay, a long ICU stay, and two moderate attacks since May. TL;DR- 1.6 years TFAS?
Circumstances: PCOS diagnosed last year - hx of painful cysts, irregular cycles (19-70+ days), luteal phase defect, and now dealing with a newish asthma diagnosis and lots of non-pregnancy safe drugs.
Rants: trying to coordinate weaning off of lung drugs so I can go on GKU drugs is a painful and annoying process. Mostly because scheduling RE and pulmonary visits to be somewhat close to one another is annoying. And getting them to talk is annoying. Ugh. Also, this is the first cycle in a few months where I haven't been on blood thinners (suspected PE) at some point and somehow this period is even longer and more excruciating. Ugh.
Raves: I have been feeling pretty good lung-wise and am confident that at my pulmonary follow-up next week, we will have a better plan for moving me off the bench in CY2017!!!
No flame no shame: what is worse, prednisone side effects or clomid side effects? I'm on a ton of prednisone right now and feeling miserable. I had bad side effects from progesterone previously. And so I'm nervous that I'm just "that person" who gets all the terrible side effects. All of them.
QOTW: I love that we are walkable to everything we need, but don't live on a super busy or congested road. It is nice to leave the car parked in the driveway on weekends and just explore our town and surrounding areas.

Welcome sharebear. I'm sorry for your asthma troubles, and I hope your transition to GKU safe drugs is easy! Sorry you are having bad side effects from the Prednisone. Have you tried Femara? That tends to work better in women with PCOS (I have it too). I had very few side effects from Femara. It would be worth asking your RE about. No worries about the novel! Numbers: **TW MC mentioned** Started TTC #3 in October 2016, BFP February 2017 followed by MC, TTC until May 2017, Benched.
Circumstances: PID related potential fertility problems, Benched due to liver disease and a swollen spleen. We're benched indefinitely.
Rants: I'm so incredibly frustrated that I don't have a timeline. I wish I did, but I have to lose weight and go back for scans and hope the swelling has gone down and that the liver disease is reversing or at least not progressed.
Raves: I will at least be a tiny pregnant person since I can't get pregnant until I lose weight.
No Flame No Shame Questions : I think I got the "numbers" part right but maybe not??
QOTW: H and I just bought our first house...yay! What is one thing you love about where you live (apartment, house, condo, houseboat, wherever)? If you could change something, what would it be? I love the wood floors, I hate that we only have one bathroom.

Hugs Radley. I also find it "easier" when there's a timeline so I imagine the unknown can't be fun. As for the "Numbers" thing, typically it means CD/DPO, but you could use it for # months until xyz happens, or whatever you feel like putting there.

Nymeria thanks! I'm hoping to have a timeline at some point. I guess I could used the "numbers" for months until I get my next appointment to talk babies. orangehibiscus thank you so much. Weight loss is so haaaaard. I will get there though soon hopefully.
