Also I never was a believer in the water keeps you full, but today I have been swamped and barely drinking water and I am starving and have a headache. So I am now chugging water

Cleanse is done. 3 pounds total loss. I'm glad I did it. It was like a giant reset button on my habits and I picked up a few healthy snack and smoothie ideas. I ate some dairy today so hopefully my stomach doesn't revolt. I also went to my yoga class this morning. I didn't want to. I didn't get enough sleep last night, am stressed, and have a sore throat. But I'm so glad I did. She did detox twists and stomach compressions so that went perfectly with my cleanse theme this week. Also, the class is 1 hour and 10 minutes but she lets one wave leave at 50 minutes if you have to. It's really nice that she does that, but the way my mind works if I can't stay for the whole class I don't go. Well, today I couldn't stay and I still went. Because you know what? 50 friggin minutes of yoga is better than 0 minutes of yoga. Like duh, but I need to repeat that for myself. Lol. And final update, the DRESS FITS!!! The smaller of the two sizes fits with wiggle room. I'm dancing on air over this. Awesome! You are going to look fab!
Good for you going to yoga even if you didn't have time for the full class. I see people do this in aerobics classes too. It doesn't have to be all or nothing!

I mean, for me, if I'm going to do this from now on, I have to allow room for wine and things like pizza. My family loves to eat and drink so it's just part of life. I have been working on planning and portion size. If I know it's pizza night, I eat clean up until that. I put in the pizza in my app days in advance to plan around it. And now I eat two pieces instead of 4. I read somewhere once that nothing tastes as good as the first bite. That holds true for me. So I try to savor the smaller portion and not feel like I'm ruining my "diet".
For wine, I drink too much when I get going, so I'm trying to reduce the number of days I drink and drink a glass of water between each glass. We shall see how that works for me long term.

I think this is a really important factor for long term success. Yeah, cutting out wine, pizza, cookies ect is going to help you lose weight, but how long can you hold out without being really bitter? Long term changes for me include a better awareness of what goes in and how much exercise I'm getting, making better choices (like eating one piece of really good chocolate and not a sleeve of not so great cookies) and doing periodic clean eating cleanses. I've lost and kept off about 20# since DS was born and I hope to firm up and keep it off by making it part of my attention for each day. It's mindless eating of crap that gets me in trouble.

I figure I'll have to play around with it, and probably change tactics over time. But in the long run, I'm going to be a drinker and a dessert eater so cutting those out seems counter intuitive. I totally get what you are saying. I am pretty neurotic about my food choices because I like to indulge in a craft beer or two on the weekends. As of now, I am still seeing progress with just cutting it out during the week, so I plan on continuing as long as I don't see it negatively affecting my food choices or weight loss.

Bummer angelashly. I've decided on chicken fried rice for lunches (fit couple cooks on YouTube is where I found it) & scrambled egg, veggie & chicken sausage bowls for breakfast.

Ugh. It's been a stressful day. All I want to do is have a big dinner of comfort food, some wine and then snacks while watching bad reality TV. I'm saying it here and releasing it. I don't want to eat my stress. I don't have a real plan for dinner, but I have healthy food at home to cook. I don't want to eat crap and drink a bunch because I have a 5 mile run scheduled for tomorrow morning.
OK. I've said it and I'll report back tomorrow that I kept things in check. Maybe I'll do some yoga or go for a long walk this evening as stress relief.

I am so bad about sticking to this thread, which is so dumb because I do sooooo much better about health and fitness when I, you know, tsk about it and have some accountability. So imma intro, sorry it's a day late. Anyway, hi. I'm sterling. I'll be 35 next month and have the self esteem of a pile of rocks. I always feel better about what I see in the mirror when I'm exercising, even if it's two identical reflections. I would workout thisbitch style if I didn't work, but it's impossible for me to find time for it daily with my schedule. So three months ago I started doing orangetheory because I can put it on my calendar and get a killer workout 2 days a week. I do yoga once a week, and that's the balance that works for now. Sometimes I run one day a week for 30 minutes or so. My downfall is food, I like it and I eat it and yeah. So when I really am mindful of my decisions I'm good to go, and when I'm lazy it shows. I would like to lose 15 pounds to get to 155, which is the lowest I've weighed in my adult life. I lost 40 pounds the year before I got married and discovered I love exercise. That was 7 years and 4 pregnancies/2 kids ago, and as it turns out it's hard to get back there. But I'd be happy to live around 160, which is 10 pounds away. I just need a way to get there that isn't extreme.

I'm so bummed guys. My H has been out of town all week....and though I have been enjoying some solo time...I was really looking forward to him getting back tonight. I even picked up a yummy 6 pack to enjoy and celebrate together. Well—he and his 6 co-workers missed their flight. Damn you NYC traffic.
I had a ridiculously stressful day and it was the one thing I was looking forward to. I am so tempted to go all "treat-yo-self" and get take out and dive into many of those beers by myself. Sigh.

trippyalien, that's basically my life. My H works a lot and has oft been stuck in other places while I made my way at home. Pre- kids, it was an extra glass of wine and a workout with a friend but now it means I'm stuck at home and it inevitably means wine and snacks bc htf else am I going to reward myself?

Right now I am still sitting here drinking water and wrestling with my conscience. But I did just remember we have a grapefruit Topo Chico in the fridge and a mini bottle of grapefruit vodka. Maybe I will make myself a low-calorie cocktail and see how I feel. A workout sounds like a good stress release, but I did a pretty intense weight lifting workout this morning and I don't want to overdo it or get too sweaty because I have an early morning hair appt (to fix a mistake from yesterday) and I don't feel like washing and straightening it again. Perhaps a walk when the sun goes down might be nice...

Also, ok bc I seriously have the best life, but in the old days when H was going to spend all weekend in the office, I was like peace out, I'm going to go white water rafting and hiking with my friends and now I'm just going to stay at home with two kids eating my way into oblivion.
The most fwp ever. I know.

I'm trying to up my protein like I mentioned but still seem to want more food when I'm done eating. I think I need a binge week. LOL I think you need a planned refeed day. That doesn't mean go HAM on whatever, but definitely increase the total intake.

Even when I whole30 I skip counting calories and likely eat a lot of them, but I drop a lot of weight that way.

sterling we're twins. I'm about 170 now, and while I'd love to be less, 160 seems to be my "happy weight". But I haven't been there since I did my W30 in October.

So I kept it to 2 beers and a vodka and water drink last night. But I used my time to assemble my new weight bench, eat a healthy dinner, and avoid any snacking.
I weighed myself today and I am 0.6 down...which isn't much, but at least it is still progress. That makes 5 lbs total in the past 2ish weeks.
Just got back from a 4 mile interval run and I am feeling really good.
I hope everyone's Saturdays are off to a great start!

We were running late for dd's appointment and she was starving so we stopped at McDonald's. I logged it and will eat light the rest of the day, but this is why I need easy to take breakfasts for me

I ended up drinking & snacking last night. Ugh. But today is a new day. I went to the gym & instead of running I took a strength training class, then did HIIT intervals on the treadmill. I don't have my meals planned for the day. But I'm starting to get hungry for lunch. I need to find time to grocery shop & meal prep. But for now I'm content to lounge by the pool.

I ate 1854 calories yesterday so way over my 1500 calories. I was at my friends for the afternoon and drank 1.5 beers so that's what put me over. I don't feel guilty or really anything about it. This is good I use to beat myself up and then spiral into well I over ate yesterday might as well eat what I want and start fresh on Monday.
My friend said I looked slimmer so that was nice to hear. I think my stomach is getting flatter. I sent a picture to my mom and she said my legs slimmed down (honestly if they get any thinner I'm afraid they won't be able to hold my midsection up). I have a candy apple shape right now. She did say that ribcage has slimmed down too.
Can I ask a favor from you guys. If you don't see me checking into this thread by 7PM ET can you call me out. I find if I check in once a day I'm more honest with my food log and helps me to reflect on why I'm eating what I'm eating. ThAnks for the continued support!
