We are rearranging our house and moved S's office from the front room. The room is now a guest room, and where his desk and bookshelf once lived, is now a very blank wall.
What should we put here? It's across from where the bed is (pull out sofa now, Murphy bed later). Paint or architectural accents or honeycomb shelves or something totally different?
R suggested a wall of air plants, which sounded cool until I realized they just look like spiders all over the wall. Not for me, TYVM.

I think some shelving or a painting maybe would be fine. I like using pictures and paintings as wall decor (which, I realize, is kind of the purpose lol)

I typically prefer for my design to meet a function. Do you need anything else? Do you need somewhere to store some books? Then do bookshelves. Essential oils or Knick knacks? Hexagon shelves would be perfect. Hats and coats? A pretty hook set. If you have no storage needs, I say a large painting or a pretty set of 3 or something. Bc the less surfaces I have to dust in life, the better.

I would put bookshelves because I always need more book storage. Or a low dresser with a mirror or artwork above.

When the bed is pulled out, there's maybe 2ft between the bed and wall

I'd still do a mirror if there isn't one already. Maybe a full-length mirror off to one side with one large or two smaller framed art works beside.
Or if you don't want to do a mirror you could do a gallery wall of some colourful prints.

I would do a small "gallery wall" that includes a mirror, a shelf or two, a couple of hooks and a couple pieces of colorful artwork. Hooks/mirror/shelf would be helpful for guests to have places to set/hang things. Maybe a very narrow set of drawers or tall nightstand? For extra storage.

This is with the bed pulled out. I could prob get a small dresser/nightstand to put where the footstool is.

I like colour on walls, but I'm not a big fan of a single accent wall. I'd keep it white, and I like tj's suggestion for art!

Like dark wood shelves, turquoise hooks, mirror with a fun frame, artwork with bright punchy colors throughout, etc. Then you wouldn't even have to paint!

I really like the way it looks white since space is limited. I would stick with very low profile decor if you choose to hang something because I'd be afraid of people bumping their heads on shelves or knocking things off the wall on their way past the bed.

Yes, as someone who as limited room in my bedroom I agree. Keep it blank so no one bumps into decorations. Keep the stool for a bag. I really like that as an option. Or look into a lighter wallpaper option to add some color or texture.

Ooh, those are pretty! Also, A was upset that I took the footstool out of her room 😬🤷 So, either she needs another footstool or I change what's in that corner LOL

Ohh I missed somehow that this wall was not above the sofa. In that case, maybe a corner shelf and a couple of hooks? And some low profile wall art?

Oh, yeah, haha, we have a couple frames above the couch. They should fit right into the Murphy bed frame as well. It just felt really bare sitting on the couch looking at a plain wall.
