Thanks for the check in cali! I'm 39+2 and so ready to have this baby. He seems quite content just hanging out in utero though. I hate this pressure I have for him to come soon. This upcoming move has thrown a wrench in my zen, it'll happen when it happens thing I had going on. No real symptoms. Just tired, I nap daily in between packing and cleaning. I kinda feel like I'm cramping down there, but it may just be my imagination.

1. How far are you now? 35+4 2. Symptom check: Swollen hands, feet, getting up to pee 4 times a night, and just generally uncomfortable. They told me he is all scrunched up low in my uterus and he keeps kicking my hips. 3. What and when is your next appointment? August 3. I had one on Friday and they did an u/s and he's measuring around 6 pounds and a week ahead. I'll be surprised if he doesn't come early. 4. Anything you’d like to share with the group? We built the crib and changing table on friday! WAHOO! Now I feel like I'm ready for him to come. The room isn't totally finished but with the crib done and it painted, I'm good. The crib mattress comes tomorrow and then I can put on the bedding and finish decorating. I'll feel so good when it's finished. Also, DH and I are going for a couples massage on Thursday and I cannot wait. Both our birthdays are this month so this is part of our gift to each other. I'm so sore everywhere I can't wait for the massage.
@easilyunamused, I hope he comes soon! I still can't believe you are packing to move!

king26, massages sound wonderful. Glad the nursery is coming along. And yes, I'm now realizing how insane the next 6 to 8 weeks are really going to be. 😬

Thanks for the check-in! 1. How far are you now? 38w 5d 2. Symptom check: Still dealing with hip and back pain. Plus no sleep because of pain, a toddler regressing and an H that has taken up snoring. They are all against me! 3. What and when is your next appointment? Next Friday but I seriously hope this boy is out by then... 4. Anything you’d like to share with the group? I miss walking and leaving the house. Seriously, I usually only leave for physical therepy because walking is too much trouble at the moment. H and I start teaching one week seminar classes tomorrow (He is MW and I am T/TH). I am not sure how I am going to handle DD while he is gone for 5 plus hours tomorrow... 1. How far are you now? 36w4d
2. Symptom check: Ahh the usual! Tired, sore, big, swollen feet and hands, nausea and heartburn, having to pee all the time, things like that *g*
3. What and when is your next appointment? Tomorrow MFM appointment. MH's work F-ed up his schedule so he can't come with which sucks cause we were supposed to finalize our birthplan and discuss some other important bits. So instead mum was supposed to come with me instead but yeah, impossible now that she's in the hospital herself (and the rest of my family is also in Switzerland still). I ended up asking my aunt (who I'm really close with) to come with me, cause a) I can't drive myself yet, stupid ankle and b) I'm just a ditz and don't like doing these kind of appointments on my own. Guess in the background I'm always worried for bad news or something unexpected and I don't like having to deal with such on my own then I guess.
4. Anything you’d like to share with the group? I'm thoroughly overwhelmed and feeling all the stress and anxiety over the nursery and getting the house in order for baby again. I kept thinking these past couple weeks "it'll come together" but everytime we plan on doing something something else (work, family stuff, baby worries, my health, heatwaves) comes up and delays things. So we're still far from finishing the nursery. Which in itself isn't the worst, but the rest of the house is a mess too.. a true proper pigsty mess and I just can't see through it and how on earth it's going to be tidy before baby arrives. I will hire a professional cleaner in a week or 2 to clean (as I just can't do it myself no more, and MH has to work 12day shifts just prior to my duedate, and I can't ask anyone else to help either) but before that things need to be more or less tidy! I'm tempted to just have someone drag ALL I don't want in my view up 2 flights of stairs and dump it in the attic...... MH keeps telling me when he has a day off "tomorrow I'll do such n so" but then the day comes and he'll sleep in till like 11am, takes 3 hours to wake up and relax, and for some reason hardly anything gets done. It's starting to grate on me!

@easilyunamused, sending *outsidebaby* vibes your way! I can imagine that the upcoming move is making things extra anxious for you, and I hope baby will make his appearance soonest! king26, so close to finishing the nursery yay! Happy for you - and hope you'll share some pics on A17? Enjoy your couples massage! @pinklantern, what a shame the OB doesn't do an U/S around this time if you choose to do NIPT bummer. I loved seeing baby on all ultrasounds but the one at 12wks was my favorite I think, first time you really get to see a complete baby even though still teenytiny. So your next U/S won't be till the anatomy scan then? I hope you'll get some of your energy back soon! Must be rough with all the traveling, and a toddler too. yellowcat, I'm sorry the pain is so intense it really makes walking difficult.. esp with a toddler in tow and having to teach some classes next week even. Is there no way you can somehow let someone else do this?? Maybe hopefully baby will have decided it's time by then and you won't have to worry about teaching.. FX he will make his appearance soon! cali, yay for having things in order for baby girl! Must be an awesome feeling

I hope the baby comes soon yellowcat, My provider had me schedule out all of my remaining appointments and when they put me on one for a week AFTER my due date I about had a heart attack. This boy better be out by his due date! I'm also feeling very large cali, but we're in the home stretch! Sounds like we have the same symptoms muscari, isn't it glamorous? I hear you on the not having things done and your H saying he'll do it. I finally got the crib done because I made my H promise he would do it this week and then I told him how many days until my due date and I think that's what really did it. He kind of freaked out when he heard it was 35 days left and that the doctor said baby is ready to go whenever. Maybe that will help motivate him?

@easilyunamused – oh, girl. You’re right there. I really hope, for your sanity, that he gets here no later than your due date. king26 – yaaas for furniture! Enjoy your prenatal massage. They are the best. @pinklantern – I’m a little head scratchy that your OB doesn’t do a dating u/s if you’re getting NIPT done (not getting a NT and a NIPT is common, but no u/s at all is weird.) They should be able to find the HB with doppler by your appt, and if not they will check for it via u/s. GL today! yellowcat – FX the week flies. You’re so close, lady. cali – solidarity, friend. muscari – get it together Mr. Muscari! I have told Mr. K eleventy times that it would just be so much easier on everyone involved if he is able to say “I already did it” instead of “I’ll do it.” I hate the way they make it seem like our EDDs are some sort of certainty date. RAWR.

AFM, 35+5.
Had an OB appt Friday. Finally got Tdap (I’d been waiting for MK to get home because sore arm + toddler = nothankyouplease), and GBS test was negative (not that it mattered to much in my sitch.) She also checked my cervix, which is still high and closed up tighter than Fort Knox. She said it has softened though. Again, not that any of this really matters. MFM appt tomorrow for BPP and growth check (I think growth? It’s every 4, so this week or next.)
Otherwise.. I mean, I have got to pack our bags. Or, rather, I need to buy the things I need for our bags. And prep freezer meals. And wash some NB clothes. And eleventy other things I’ve been pushing off. But at least MK is finally home, so I can unload some of these things onto his plate. #WifeOfTheYear

@pinklantern, 1st tri exhaustion is no joke. Hopefully you'll get the energy back in a couple weeks. yellowcat, I'm not a fan of napping but do it out of necessity! You're so close too! cali, glad you have everything ready for baby girl. It feels good to feel prepared. Now I just stare at the stuff like...tick tock! muscari, you've had a very eventful pregnancy. I hope these next couple weeks are boring and you can get all of the things done on your check list. ketchup, I certainly feel my sanity slipping away the closer I get to the EDD. I almost wish they didn't give you a date. And I won't go in for another appointment until Thursday, so I have no clue if I'm dilated more. Yay for Mr ketchup being home!! And unload all the things onto him, you deserve it!

Did they offer to strip your membranes at your last appt? If not, ask them to on Thursday. It doesn't work for everyone, but if you're over 1cm and they can get in there, maybe it will help jump start things for you.

It's not a big deal, I think like some 30% of women have it? You'll just let your nurse know when you go into labor and they'll add the antibiotics to your IV. Just let them know if you're allergic to any of them.

Quick update -- the OB couldn't find the heartbeat on the doppler, so I ended up having an ultrasound after all. The baby looks great, measuring on track, and had a heartbeat of 166. I also thought it was strange that they don't do an ultrasound if you opt for the NIPT. They did a dating ultrasound at 8 weeks when I had my first visit with them. lurker alert. Glad baby is doing great and you got to see! Just wanted to share that my OB's office skips the ultrasound if you elect to do NIPT. Their reasoning was that the NIPT should catch what the ultrasound would pick up so it's unnecessary. I wasn't a happy camper about that being PAIF & PAL, but it turned out my OB was very understanding after I explained my anxiety and she did a short bedside ultrasound at each appointment after that.

35+1 here and cannot believe I have less than a month left! I have my NST tomorrow and BPP + growth check on Friday. I've been having some contractions lately so going to ask my OB about that tomorrow. I know it's common but I had zero contractions with C until they started me on pitocin so it's a little weird to be having them this time around. There was a moment last week that I thought I was going to end up in L&D but thankfully they settled down right before the point my paperwork said to go. I'm a little nervous that baby is going to make an appearance before my scheduled csection date but hopefully it's just me worrying for nothing.
I pulled out the NB and 3 month clothes over the weekend and need to get those washed. I was only going to wash the gender neutral but then changed my mind because if I have a boy, all the clothes will be washed so I won't have to worry about laundry for a bit.

My little boy is still inside but he seems to be trying to inch his way out, or at least that is how I am interpreting the constant pressure I am feeling.
I am teaching my class tomorrow which I think will be a lot easier than staying home with DD! After that MH will cover for me on Thursday which is a day I had schedules actual physical work that I cannot possibly do (it is an archaeology class). But, that means two days in a row watching the toddler on my own which I am sure will break me! God, I used to be such a badass...I literally started an archaeology dig a week after having DD with no problems!

1. How far are you now? 22w 2. Symptom check: A little swelling in the morning and some discomfort falling asleep. 3. What and when is your next appointment? This afternoon for my THIRD A/S scan ultrasound. Everything is normal, but he won't give up the goods (spine). So far DS is more stubborn than DD and that's a terrifying thought. 4. Anything you’d like to share with the group? I'm simultaneously incredulous that I have 18 weeks left of being KU and terrified that I only have 4 months with just DD.

Dr appointment was a bust. She could barely get 2 fingers into my cervix. 😩 She tried to strip my membranes anyhow, so hopefully it'll help move things along.
I begrudgingly made an induction appointment for next Thursday, but I really don't want to be Induced. I'm all up in my feels and may need to go for an ice cream run to drown my sorrows.

@easilyunamused, ugh, I'm sorry, that sucks. So was she even able to strip your membranes? If so, maybe that will help. Maybe just try all the home remedies to get things going before Thursday? I've heard walking, sitting on an exercise ball, spicy foods, sex?? They're probably all old wives tales but maybe worth a try to avoid induction? I think I mentioned acupuncture to you before too, but I think you said you didn't have anyone in your area to go to. Just remember, it could happen really quickly. My friend went to her doctor appt in the morning and was told she was barely dilated and then ended up going into labor and delivering that night. So it can happen! I have everything crossed for you!

Thanks cali! Yes, I've been trying all of those things. Plus pineapple. I'm trying to not get too discouraged. I just think with the lack of sleep and being overall emotional isn't helping matters for me to be rational. But I have frozen custard and it's elevating my mood. 😁

@easilyunamused - you have your pump yet? You could try pumping. It can help your ute contract and therefore jump start things. That said, as with all of the "tricks," nothing is going to induce labor if baby isn't ready. I'm sorry, lady. I had the same thing happen to me at my final OB appt before my induction date with TT (except they couldn't even get a single finger in, so no attempt could be made to strip), and it was really disheartening. I hope that is the most delicious ass custard you've ever tasted.
