gamergirl yay for scoring clothes for cheap! My closest OUAC is...not that close, so I rarely make it out there. I compensate by buying new clothes only if they are on clearance or super sale, and I hit up local consignment sales. The Fall edition of my fave one is happening 2 days before my EDD, so we'll see if I make it. FFSC, I'll be a little bummed if I have to miss it!

We are meeting my parents today at the halfway point between our placrs and they are taking DD for a few nights. We will be child free for awhile!!! I mean, I'll miss her dearly of course, but it will be nice to sleep in, go to some movies/out to dinner, stay up late, etc. H and I could really use this time together too as it's been hard to connect recently since I've been so sick this pregnancy, he's worked extra, we have a busy 2 year old and all that normal adult stuff. So jealous of this arrangement! My dream at this point is for someone to take DD overnight. Enjoy your kid free time, I hope you and YH have a great few days together

I get it. Bonding is important and all that, but as a new mother your body has just been through hell to bring that baby in to the world. It seems cruel to me to then just hand off the baby (especially to FTM who may have no baby experience) and basically say good luck. Everyone I've talked to who had a "baby friendly" hospital delivery has had nothing but bad things to say about it. The delivery may have been fune, but the after care was unpleasant. The kid will be mine forever, can I get one last night of sleep before bringing them home please? Lol MTE. 2 years on and I still get VERY worked up talking about my post-birth hospital stay. Like I was given basically zero chance to recover. At one point DH tried to walk the halls with DD so I could sleep, and the staff yelled at him. He was like, "can I go ANYWHERE so my wife can rest?" and they pretty much put them in a closet for an hour. Ridiculous. Everything up to and including birth was fine! I would have happily stayed with the same OB, and I recognize that I'm lucky that I was able to switch. We will definitely pay more OOP for this hospital stay vs DD1, but it's worth it.

Hello! I must be in a nesting phase, because lately I've been obsessed with the idea of buying clothes for this baby! I'm cheap/thrifty to a fault, so I didn't feel the need to shop until I actually pulled out DD1's 0-3m clothes and realized we have like...4 l/s onesies and 3 sleepers, and the rest is summer clothes. Whoops. I just placed an order from Carter's, so I'm feeling a little more calm. It's not even like we don't have clothes for the first month of this kid's life (14 nb sleepers, 3 gowns, and plenty of s/s onesies all from DD1), but this has been nagging at me for at least 48h. This was me on Friday!!! I went through the baby stuff and was like "oh, 5 l/s onsies... huh". I had 30% off at Kohls and used that today to get some stuff. I know the baby isn't going to be here and we did sleepers forever like you but it was bugging me too! I've been hitting tons of deals for the new baby at Kohls too! It's kind of addicting lol 30% off plus my kohls cash and yes2U rewards...dangerous!!

Celebrating DS's 2nd birthday today! We were going to cook out but it looks like storms will be rolling in right about dinner time, so we are going to order pizza instead. Picked up the cake this morning and it turned out cute! We are doing a construction "theme" with the cake and tableware, so the baker put a little plastic excavator and dump truck on top. When DS saw it he got really excited but since then has been begging for cake, woops haha.

Thanks yall; DS has been acting much more like himself today. He still sounded bad when he first got up, but it seemed to clear up. We did end up going to the party and he had a great time in the water.

Busy weekend here. Yesterday our HOA had a summer pool party so we all went. DD had a great time and enjoyed her first sno-cone. My mom came over and watched her so H and I could go on a date. We finally got to see Wonder Woman, it was so good. Lots of laundry to catch up on today, so we're taking it easy.
The hospital where I had DD was "baby friendly" but you had the option to send the baby to the nursery overnight and they would bring the baby to you when it was time to nurse or whenever you requested. Hospital tour scheduled for the end of next month (different OB/state than when I had DD) and I'm pretty sure there's a nursery, but not sure about logistics.

Then my mom came to stay with me for a few days after we got home and did everything but nursing. He still is extremely attached to me, and every second of sleep i got those 4 nights was so precious.

I woke up sick with a sore throat and super tired. Spent the day relaxing and just took a super long nap. H took DD to the playground and now he's picking up pho and spring rolls for me.

All this hospital talk is reminding me that I need to preregister. I'm not sure how, though. I went online, but the options don't seem to apply to l&d. It's not surgery or outpatient, I don't think?
I need to remember to ask at my next appointment. Or maybe they'll know at the bf class I'm taking next month.

I'm here and trying to catch up. We spent all weekend preparing for and helping throw a couples baby shower for our best friends. Seeing all of the gifts they got reminded me that I only have 10 weeks left as of tomorrow(!). I need to make an order soon to get some sleepers and a few other things. And we really need to get to work on the nursery. How are we all coming up on 30 weeks already?!
Side note: does anyone remember how early Target and/or Amazon send their completion discount coupons? I'm thinking around 36 weeks, right?

It was a heck of a lot of "fun" registering when I was in labor with DD and having to confirm addresses and whatnot during contractions. While I sometimes wish our hospital would catch up to the 21st century in certain areas, they haven't jumped aboard this "baby-friendly" no-nursery nonsense so that's a perk.

Though I am now remembering that just about every time a nurse came in I was asked my name and date of birth. There were times when I was giving DS's due date (which was that day), lol.

My office gives you a binder with a book and pamphlets filled with information at the first appointment, and they just throw the preregistration form in with it. It says to have it sent in before 28 weeks, and I remember doing this nice and early last time around. I just sent it in yesterday. Better a little late than never! It was definitely nice not having to do all that while in labor with DS. We just arrived at the ER (middle of the night), gave them my ID so they could find my info, and I was in triage shortly after that. Do not want to answer questions while having contractions. I'm so sorry your hospital does that to you danvers, that would be super annoying.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk That makes no sense. Our hospital makes you preregistration for everything. I had to pre register for my D&C! When I was going through the hospital to MFM last week for my U/S there was clearly a set of soon to be parents with the mom in labor. The dad was pushing the mom in a wheel chair and she was screaming. Brought me back but I was excited and not scared!

RE: preregistration, OB gave me forms around 20 weeks and had me bring them back to them, and they provide the forms to the hospital.
I did it with DS but don't know how it actually saved time. We had a BP scare a week or two before he was born so they made me check in as if I was being admitted in case I needed to be kept there, which was a whole bunch of forms. I thought that would make checking in when I was actually in labor easier, but they still wanted me to sign a bunch of forms. I was in transition at the time we checked in and in a constant state of "I need to puke" so I spent a while in the bathroom next to the check-in desk trying not to throw up between filling out forms.
