Stainless steel undermount. Split 50/50. I wish it was split 70/30 or similar so there was a larger side for pots/pans and a smaller side for whatever else.
My parents have an undermount Corian that's split. One large side and one skinny side. I love their sink

We currently have a 70/30 stainless undermount. Both sides are too small for a pot or pan to fit into. We are replacing it with this during our upcoming reno!!

We have one big and deep undermount stainless sink. No split. I am very happy with it. I've had split ones in previous houses and always prefer one big open basin. I never want clean dishes in my sink though, so this depends on how you do them.
We air dry the hand-wash stuff on towels on the counter. No racks.

And I’m split between just one full sink or a 70/30 split.
There are so many toys for the kitchen.

We have a 50/50 split sink. I've thought about getting a single sink with built in draining board on the side, because I always have a pile of dishes air drying on a towel, but I think when we reno our kitchen I'll stick with a split. I often have a sink full of soapy water and then I walk away and come back, and I almost always have extra dishes that I need to rinse or dump down the drain and I need an extra drain for that.

This is what has me torn and think of the 70/30. I like to rinse my dishes. But then having that big open sink would be easier for my fry pans, big pots, and cast iron.

We have a 50/50 stainless steel under mount and it’s fine My parents have one like what tj linked and I really like it. I rarely soak dishes. If I handwash, it’s like one thing and I just run the water briefly.

We have this in white - the big open basin. I hate the white. I mean, it looks great, but i scrub it so often with barkeepers friend because everything stains it. I wish we went with stainless or black.

Never have I ever (since living on my own) have I filled up a sink with soapy water. I always use a large bowl to hold soapy water for any hand-washing dishes while also using a sponge that dispenses soap. I replace the sponge regularly, and only hand wash the bare minimum of things. So a split sink for me would have no purpose. I am not judging anyone who does differently, I grew up filling up one half of the sink with hot soapy water and using a washcloth to wash. But never have done that since moving out of my parents' house 18 years ago,
And I just realized I have now lived out of my parents's house for longer than I lived in it. Whoa.

tj is that a black stainless? Because if so it is exactly what I want to replace mine with someday, when we get new counters. They messed up the cut out of the granite so there is a funky lip on one edge of the sink that drives me bananas.

I would love black stainless, but I had this sink in my old house and I just loved it.

I’ve had split sinks and single basin and, for me, the only advantage of the split is if you’re going to be leaving dishes to hang out in the sink. Otherwise, single basin all the way. I have lots of room for cooking and cleaning and I can leave any dirty dishes next to the sink.
My big sink suggestion is to get a faucet with lots of vertical space. So it goes up and curves back down instead of sticking out over the basin. That also gives you a ton more room.

Oh, another suggestion. My big sink has custom racks that sit on the bottom to keep things off the bottom of the sink. Food falls down and is easily rinsed into the disposal. We run them through the dishwasher occasionally and scrub them to keep them from getting gross but they are great.

+1 to never having a full sink of soapy water. But I like to have my dirty dishes in the sink, rather than on the counter, and I'll separate hand wash items from dishwasher-safe items. And, when I hand wash a cutting board or cookie sheet, I like to stand them up to dry in the sink.

Has anyone used The Galley? (Never mind found prices on these 😳)
I’m leaning toward stainless steel. And these have the drying rack and lower rack. Plus the flush mount.
I do like your sink as well tj since it has the options for SS and a built in rack.
I love the dark colors, but we have limited natural light so I’m going to stay away from dark colors for the counter and cabinets.

I'm very guilty of leaving dishes in one side of the sink to soak so I like having a split so that there's always a "clean" side available. Dishes are MH's job and TIL that he washes in an unpopular way, filling a basin with hot soapy water. That's the way I do it when I have to wash dishes, too. Who knew?!
I love the look of that black sink, TJ. If I could find one like that with a 60/40 split it would be my ideal sink.

If you ever need two basins, just use a dollar store dish bin for the extra basin. Then you have the option of using the sink for large dishes like sheet pans and the like. If you go 70/30 you can never make more room when you need it.
