Best brushes for girls with long hair who are totally anti brushing tangles out?
We have wet brushes but they don't seem to be cutting it. Somewhat wavy but not quite curly thick hair....

Get a detangler and a good spray bottle to wet it down. Think misting bottle. And help them whether they like it or not. E had a massive knot in the back of her head under the surface. I just didn’t see it and she didn’t have the dexterity to reach it. There were a lot of tears that night. Also a big toothed comb. We use a wet brush first, which gets a lot of the tanges out but not all. Then I spray with detangler and use this brush www.sephora.com/product/pattern-mini-shower-brush-P475993 which gets the rest of the tangles out. By the time I switch brushes the remaining tangles are at the bottom of their hair so I can kind of hold the hair near their scalp and it prevents it from pulling so less yelling. It has been working much better than the wet brush alone, but I need both to make it work. M has fine curls but J has super thick wavy hair so his is actually much more difficult to brush.

Also brush the bottom first, then a little higher. And so on.
I ask my stylist how to brush curly hair (no one taught me), and my mind was blow by this.

N has really long hair. I use a good conditioner in the tub, a good leave-in conditioner/detangling spray, and then I use a detangling brush (if you google detangling brush they should come up, they have wide-spaced plastic bristles).

Wet brush has a new set angling brush for thick hair. We started using that one. We also braid her hair before bed every night so it doesn’t get so tangled in her sleep. And we use a leave-in detangler before brushing.
Also though it may need a good trim, split ends tangle badly.

It is usually from leaving a top ponytail in overnight, or in the case of this weekend, for many days. Anytime i've gotten leave in detanglers they make the hair all gross. she only washes/conditions it maybe twice a week (see above afraid of all things) so that doesn't help. off to amazon.

Like milano, Wet brush first, then a second "firmer" brush for the bigger tangles. I add leave in conditioner after each bath, when wet and then once a month or so (more often in the summer with swimming pools) I put in a leave in "lotion." Her hair is kind of gross for a day with the lotion and then it's lovely and glossy and manageable. And +1 to trimming split ends. It makes a huge difference.

I use Aveda Nutriplenish leave-in conditioner on N. It can be sprayed liberally on wet or dry hair, and her hair dries soft and fresh every time. It's amazing stuff and it smells divine.

For T’s curls I use
SoCozy, Curl Spray LeaveIn Conditioner For Kids
With a wide tooth comb usually, sometimes a brush (but she’s 3 and her hair isn’t very thick)
Edit: I don’t think it makes the hair gross/greasy.

For myself, I also find sleeping in a braid is helpful for reducing tangles.
