sunfrogger, Did the doctor give some possible reasons for this? Maybe it could be round ligament pain? I'm sorry your dealing with this, it's so stressful. FX they can figure it out asap and everything is all good jessijean, I am so sorry. I have no experience with this, but just wanted to send some love and positive thoughts your way. That is an incredibly tough and stressful situation to be in so feel free to vent here at anytime. SO many hugs for you

Hi guys! Just checking in. I haven't been responding lately but I'm following along to keep up. We had our first appt at MFM today. They did a scan and saw there is no abdominal herniation (good news) but there is a cystic hygroma (bad news). Basically this means increased risk of chromosomal abnormalities or heart defects, among other issues. We opted for NIPT at this time but not the CVS. With already having a history of mc, the risks are too much right now. If something comes back positive on the NIPT results maybe we would consider it. I'm only 11w2d so we will still be in the window for cvs if we want to do it. I'm just stunned this is happening. I keep saying I just want a normal, boring pregnancy after what it has taken us to get here but that isn't in the cards. Plus, this might be silly to complain about but I was looking forward to starting to tell people over the next couple weeks but now we won't. Sending thoughts and prayers and internet hugs. I'm so sorry you're going through this and am hoping for the best. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

easternshoregirl I'm so sorry you have this weighing on your mind. I would've made the same decision on the NIPT. Keep us posted. I'll be thinking of you. 🤞

Keeping it to yourself will be way too stressful (at least for me). This baby deserves to be loved and cherished no matter what happens. I don't have experience with cystic hygroma but I have experience with birth defects and losing pregnancy late term. I'm here for you if you have questions about our experiences. I will be praying for your baby and your family during this time. The waiting for results can sometimes be as bad or worse than the news itself (even when the news isn't good).

So I'm going to bury this here but I'm having those weirdly painful cramps on my left side again. Per my drs advice Wed I called and left a message on the nurse line. Fx everything is OK and it's gas or some dumb shit. I'm trying to stay away from Google. I missed this the first time. Where is the cramp in particular? Didyoir OB expand on why they wanted to know if it happened and how far along are you? Left side. Tuesday it was kind of sharp and it was the kind you instinctively clutch. They just told me to call if it happened again. I have no history but to be safe they are going to schedule me for a routine US early next week and I'll go see the Dr Monday as well. I'm 9w3d. At my appt Wed we didn't hear a HB which my Dr wasnt concerned about.

Thanks guys. The nurse line called back, I made an appt Monday and I was told to take it easy and drink a lot this weekend and if I have bleeding or severe pain like doubling over to go to the ER. They are going to order a routine US for me next week too. So.... Hopefully it's just gas and RLP and something I'm not used to from now having an inverted ute or something. Fx.

I'm obviously not a doctor so take this with a grain of salt but if I was having similar pain I wouldn't necessarily think it's a baby issue. Like it could be RLP or things moving and growing but my mind wouldn't go to mc but I don't know much. Maybe it's bowl movement related even? FWIW,I've had two miscarriages and never felt a strong pain on a particular side.

easternshoregirl I'm really sorry you are dealing with this uncertainty. Do not feel silly for being upset at all. I hope the nipt is normal. Mine took about a week and a half to come back.

sunfrogger, is there a reason you think it's not RLP? Sorry if you already explained this. RLP is very sharp and painful for me and with DS I only had it on one side for awhile before I had it on the other. jessijean, I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. I'm sure the doctors want to weigh the risk of seizure (and their effects) against risk of harm to baby like I know they do with any medicine mom needs but isn't guaranteed safe in pregnancy. I would feel the same way as you. Sending hugs and keep us updated! easternshoregirl, I'm sorry for that hard news. Prayers that baby is healthy. I think you're making the right call regarding CVS especially with your miscarriage history. XOXO

clm585, It helped tide me over until after the appointment at least! I ended up waiting 45 minutes to see someone so it was a good thing too. Then I went and got French fries from McDs, which I blame this thread for. My digestion was not appreciative. sunfrogger, Sounds a lot like my RLP from my last pregnancy. It was really unpleasant at times! I hope that is all it is. easternshoregirl, I'm so sorry for the stress. I hope it turns out to be a minor issue and you get a chance to relax at some point. jessijean, That sounds really stressful. If your seizures don't pose a serious risk to your health, I hope your doctor will be flexible about what you are comfortable with. Definitely talk to your OB!

I got myself a large fry from McD's for lunch and I ate every last one. I had been craving them so bad the past couple days and it was so worth it. This sounds amazing Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

easternshoregirl, I'm sorry for the not so great news. But it is still early and you don't have any definite information, right? It's just more likely? So I'm going to give advice that I don't often take but I think it's good advice. Try not to worry until you have actual facts. They'll be plenty of time to worry then. Most of the things I worry about don't actually happen so I get mad at myself for wasting the stress too prematurely. Keeping you in my thoughts & prayers. jessijean I am in the minority here, but I would give a lot of credit to your mom instinct. Listen to your ob and your neurologist, but I think the decision should be yours not theirs. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

sunfrogger I had really sharp pains in my stomach on occasion with my first. They were never contractions, they usually had to do with bowel movements & after I'd finally manage to poop it would stop. But DAMN they were painful and definitely freaked me out.

Thanks for the support ladies, much appreciated! I decided to wait for my results to come in and hear from the neuro before contacting my OB. Well the results came in tonight and I jumped from 4.8 to 6.7! (Had fallen from 8.1 prior to pregnancy). It's working! They are keeping me at my current dose and more level checking late next week. I'm a human pin cushion but at least they are on top of it.

Thanks guys I have no reason to think it's anything other than RLP but they told me to call them if I had it again so I am.... I didn't have a lot of RLP with my DD until second tri. And I'm just panicking in general bc no HB but I know it's normal. Sigh.

Thanks for the support. As far as likelihood, the doc said there's about a 50% chance there is something (majorly) wrong. Or looking at it the other way, there is a 50% chance there is nothing wrong. I just wish we weren't looking down this future of testing, testing, testing and uncertainty. But, that's what we've got so we'll figure it out. I also kind of feel like DH is choosing to ignore there could be a big problem. Like, I don't think he has read anything about it yet, which I wish he would.

Maybe try to talk to him about it. Everyone processes things differently, he's probably just holding to the hope that there is nothing wrong. I'd probably be in denial too to avoid being an emotional wreak. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
