The U.S. is melting, but at least it's Friday.

It was 87 degrees out when I left my house at 6:50 this morning. It's supposed to be in the 100s here this weekend. I'm going to have to find some indoor activities for the kid.
QOTW: I counted Cali in May as a vacation. We did visit some family, but it was a nice trip.

I don't think it's supposed to be too bad here.
I don't count going back to the Midwest for my family as vaca, so probably up to Sequoa State Park.

It's a beautiful day here, particularly great as it's national day and I am off! We've just come back from a long brunch and playing rounders in the park with friends. Perfect day off The last trip we took was a long weekend in Devon, UK for a wedding a couple of weeks ago. All our recent trips were pretty short. Last proper holiday was so long ago I can't remember! Sent from my SM-A310F using Tapatalk

It is also hot as Hades here. Woof. So gross.
The last trip we took was in March to the gulf coast of Florida with husband's family. It was really nice. They have a time share at a resort down there and it's very relaxing, plus our daughter LOVES pools, so she was in heaven. And she loves giraffes, and she got to feed giraffes at the Naples zoo. I'm excited to hopefully take our family of four next year!

It's suppose to feel like it's over 100 out here all weekend. And of course H wants to be outside all weekend.
We went to Vegas in early May before H started his new job. It was our 4th trip there but we still had a blast. I got to see Brett Eldridge in concert so I was pumped.
He wants to take a weekend and go to Cincinnati still but we are running out of time/available weekends.

Hello! It's so hot here. We were gong to go to the pool today, but DD has a slight fever, so we're going to stay home. I'm going to see Dunkirk tonight so I'm looking forward to that.
We went to Fort Lauderdale in January. It was great!

It's super nasty around here, so thankfully I will be spending most of my weekend inside at the theatre. H and I are going to BRU tomorrow to check out a few big ticket things to see how we like them (car seat, crib, etc). I've done my research online and asked other moms I know, but I feel like I still need to see some stuff before committing.
We are trying to plan our vacation in August but work is making it difficult. There's a 2x year big meeting where my team has to give a short presentation, and with my boss out on business travel for most of the month, she hasn't approved my leave request until we know which day the presentation will be on (it's one of two, but the organizer hasn't sent the agenda yet). I mean, this is not really a big deal because we were just going to drive to North Carolina and Southern VA and do touristy things around there, so we are close to home in case of problems or if I just feel like shit. On the other hand, I haven't missed one of these meetings in years while other team members have been on vacation. Grr.
Also I need to vent about my MIL but I can't really articulate what's bothering me (it's nothing serious, probably why I can't articulate it). I'll marinate on it some more and see if it's really worth complaining about, lol.

I took the kids bike riding this morning then DS1 went swimming at a friend's and I took the others swimming at my aunts. I'm so exhausted.
We did a week at the beach as a family the first week of this month. DH and I did a long weekend in Southern California for a friend's wedding in April, our first kid-free vacation since our honeymoon but sometime during that weekend, we picked up the new kid. End of next month we are going to Disney. It's been a good year.

75 here right now - this is why I live near the ocean Although we had a hot spell a couple of weeks ago where it was in the high 90s. Last mini-vacation was to a beach a couple of hours away for my birthday weekend. It was nice and relaxing and I found out I was pregnant 2 days later! Last real vacation was 3 years ago a bunch of my family met in Boston for a long weekend so we could do some sightseeing and watch our team (Royals) play at Fenway.

High of 89 here. We went to a local Day with Thomas. We rode the train, did some fun activities, and then went out to lunch. N woke up as such a monster. Obviously, having two crazy weeks have caught up to him. He didn't want to go out to play or anything so it was a long afternoon.
I just got back from a vacation. Every July we go up to the in laws summer "camp" on the ocean. It's not actually a camp but an 100 year old house. It's not the most luxurious but the view is amazing. Our next really BIG vacation will be in February when we go back to Disneyworld. We went two years ago with other family members and a 2 year old. We are going this time with family members and a 4 year old and a 2.5 month old.

sizzleb we were stationed in KS for awhile and are Red Sox fans! We LOVED Kauffman Stadium! A lazy weekend here. My Mom, DD and I are headed to Fort Lauderdale for a few days next week to get my grandmothers house ready to sell. I don't know how much help I'll be. I've been napping like crazy this week. We usually use leave/vacation time to come home, but last summer DH got back from Afghanistan after a 13 month deployment so us, DD, and both sets of our parents went on a cruise to Bermuda. It was an amazing trip and we had so much fun! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

babydsmama, oh cool! It's a great stadium. I learned how to drive in that parking lot (during the off-season), haha.

sarahandben108 - I expect you to report back on Disney. I'm debating taking L and D in March when we will likely be visiting my inlaws on the gulf coast. I know it's early for a Disney visit for her, but I love the place and cannot wait to take her. I'm wondering if I'm insane for thinking of bringing a toddler and an infant (probably).
