I'm gonna complain about others complaining. Two friends and I have a running group chat, mostly bc we all have kindergarten girls in the same school. They have nothing but negative things to say about most things that happen school wise. One I sort of understand because she also has a 1st grader w/special needs who has had a terrible experience there and its jaded her. But, like these teachers are amazing, everyone is doing their best and tired. We haven't had to close for covid. Its just getting old. I’ll join you here. I’m not scared to complain but it’s important to remember the things that are going well, or… not badly. I find a raucous discussion of the day’s wordle or TikTok Celine Dion video helps lighten a heavy group chat. oooh i didn't wordle yet today.

But there is a tipping point where complaining just weighs on my heart and I can't take it anymore. I think that it's when someone can no longer find joy in that thing that they're complaining about (they don't need to find joy in that moment, but if there is no joy at all, they just need to move on from it).

I was thinking about it and this is the thing for me too. If you are complaining but you can also laugh at yourself, then I can usually still enjoy your company. When it’s 100% negativity 24/7, it becomes soul-sucking.

Its just getting to me over petty things today like our fab school. IMO. I also love a good vent. For sure.

Ugh, okay, here's a complaint. Back when we got the van (November 2019) we were given a ridiculously high interest rate because of our credit. We didn't have a choice so we took it, with the sales person telling us that we could refinance after 2 years to a lower rate. The dealership since closed, but since we worked hard to get our credit to a decent rate I figured I'd call and see if we could refinance anyways. Nope. Apparently they don't do that. Only through a dealership. So our choices are to get a new vehicle and do a trade-in/add-on, or to get a personal loan and pay it off. WHAT!? I am so freaking annoyed because we could be paying so much less right now!

I'm not sure if it's different in Canada, but here it's totally normal to get a car loan through a bank (I've only ever gotten one loan through a dealership). I'd recommend talking to a bank and see what interest rate they would give you. Then calculate the savings over the life of the loan and compare it to the closing costs on the loan to make sure it's worthwhile.

How does one actually exit a small group chat without being obvious. Hmmm.

It works though I wish you could turn off the little red bubble notifications too. **If there’s a way to do this, let me know 😂

We could potentially go through another bank, but ugh, it's just annoying. We were planning on getting another vehicle sooner or later anyways, but I guess we'll just do sooner =/

Another option, if the loan is only in one of your names, is that you could "sell" it to the other person. I would dig deeper into your refinance options before you add more years of payment with a new car loan.

nikkipal I hope you feel better soon! Ugh. mintyblueair I’m thinking about switching mine because I’m not sure it’s doing the job anymore. But I’m nervous that trying something new will have even worse results?? It’s tough to know the right things to do. Update! My doctor prescribed something else on top of my existing SSRI. It is allegedly going to add in the N part of what’s in a SNRI. He wants me to ramp up on it very slowly to make sure I don’t have any adverse side effects, but I’m so excited and hopeful that this will help. 🤞🏻🤞🏻 it’s such a good feeling when a doctor listens and tries to help find a solution.
