Well it took me forever to finish Braiding Sweetgrass - so much that the library wanted me to pay for it. Whoops. I think I need to buy it so I can re-read some chapters.
I grabbed the Paper Palace when I was at the library and it was on my goodreads to read list but I have no recollection of when/why I added it.
What else are people reading?

stringy I started The Paper Palace and didn’t finish. I’m not a prude but the part I read was a lot of sort of graphic sex stuff, and the main character’s mom is also present (not literally for the sex but) idk I had weird vibes and quit reading it ha. LMK if it turns out to be great and I’ll give it another try.

In Five Years is on my list. Maybe next weekend I’ll make it happen.
The other one on my list is titled In Order to Live by Yeonmi Park. Yeonmi and her family escaped North Korea. I’ve read some potentially valid criticisms of her in recent years but I still want to read the book.

I'm currently re-reading Sons and Lovers. It's one of my favourite novels. I'm picking it up here and there and have about 1/3 to go.
I'm also reading Matrix by Lauren Groff. It's a fictionalized account of the life of Marie de France, 12th century poet. I'm not too far in but I'm really enjoying it and feel like I'm there as I'm reading.
I was reading The Midnight Library by Matt Haig but it was making me cringe it was so bad, so I returned it.

I have The Paper Palace on my TBR list. I have no idea what it's about but I generally like Reese's book club picks.

A Slow Fire Burning
Great book, fun read, murder mystery.
I don’t want to give away too many details. But this is a fun summer read that was recommended on NPR.

I posted this in the reading thread in GD, but I read The Paper Palace and absolutely adored it. One of my top three favourite books of the year so far.

I accidentally breezed through the Bridgerton series e books after bingeing season 2 on Netflix. Oops. I don’t usually gravitate towards romance but they were fun to read.
I’m rereading Flowers for Algernon right now.

I read two books in the past week:
People We Meet On Vacation by Emily Henry. I enjoyed it, although I will say it was fairly predictable - but I didn't mind much because sometimes it is nice to have a happy ending. I don't think saying that spoils anything. It was a nice easy plane read.
The Midnight Library by Matt Haig. Very good! Decidedly NOT predictable, and once I started it I literally didn't put it down until I finished. Would recommend.

I really like Meghan Miranda's books for a quick thriller. I think they are technically YA books, but they don't read that way and I have read all of the ones she has published so far. Also, Kerry Lonsdale has great books too, not thrillers.

I've missed my calling in life, Audio Book Reader. LOL! I'm recording some of L's History read alouds so she can listen independently while I do TK with J next school year. It is SO relaxing to read aloud uninterrupted. I even looked into being a Volunteer Reader for LibriVox, but they have too many regulations for me to follow right now. They would be awesome to read for though in a few years when I have more free time.
ETA: For my own pleasure reading, I was on a Mackinac Island, Michigan, kick last month. I read Behind Love's Wall by Carrie Pagel and some of the Piper Penn series by Michele Olson. I'm currently reading The Colonial Captives by Angela Hunt. I didn't realize she had started writing YA historical fiction. It's a sad premise but a good "easy" read for my tired brain.
