Me too! Although I am working from home. My bed is calling my name. I don't think I slept last night and that stupid Drake song kept playing in my head "girls like girls where I'm from" over and over and over.

I think it's the colder weather making us all want to sleep...at least for me!
Nothing exciting here today. SSDD. Except I might send my boss an email and ask about working from home 1 day a week, just to help improve morale. Other departments do it, why can't we?

Today is an exciting day though because it is gorgeous out. I am walking with my neighbor in a half an hour and then I'll do some yard work between actual work. Later I have an electrician coming to replace some light fixtures, some odd switches and hopefully move my thermostat over so I can wall mount the tv. I've had these projects on my list forever so I am excited to get them done.
After this the only big project is the garden which I had someone come out for and we left it at him sourcing the plants and then I have been ghosted. Now its a bit late so it will probably wait until spring.

Yay for home projects wedding. MH got a sudden burst of inspiration to put up shelves in the girls room we've been putting off forever. I didn't share that motivation at first but it sure was nice to have it done.

Morning - I had an 8am meeting and mh had to go into the office super early, so that was a bit of a headache, but we survived. I have a team lunch in the city this afternoon, so that should be fun since it's warm and we can sit outside.
We had a light fixture installed yesterday and the dude showed up and finished in the 20 minutes I was leading a meeting. He didn't screw it correctly and the bolts are still visible. I'm SO grouchy and he isn't coming back til Monday. I also bought the wrong bulbs at target last night like a moron...so need to go to a different target to exchange them. Never ending project.

Morning! Question for those of you who have vaccinated your kids. Any side effects? I have an appointment for my 2 that are old enough on Wednesday and I don't want to delay it but I also don't want them to have to miss Thanksgiving if they aren't feeling well!

We had 0 side effects. Slight sore arm for S but he still was able to play/ride bikes etc. B had nothing. I do have a friend who's 6 year old had a slight fever the next day and was sleepy. But none of our other friends had any side effects at all

wineallthetime the girls only had a sore arm. They whined about it a lot but it didn't limit them from any activities.

Those kinds of little home improvements are so satisfying, wedding. My electrician is so hard to get in touch with but he finally put me on the schedule for one day next week to add more recessed lighting for the kitchen, and then I realized that it's Thanksgiving and it cuts the days down from 5 to 3, so I sent him a text this morning hoping that he realized that, too.

I got my booster this morning, and I keep trying to schedule the kids but the pharmacist told me this morning that things are filling up so quickly. So I'm hoping something early next week will open for them

J was tired a few hours later but then was fine and played in a baseball game that afternoon. I'm expecting more of a reaction after the second shot. I'd say book it!

My nephew hasn't been vaxxed either and not for lack of trying (well maybe a bit) but I suggested they drive to a Walgreens a bit further away just to get it done.

DH let him stay home the next day but I think he could have survived school. His best friend had a low fever 24 hours later just for a few hours. Both T and his best friend live in houses where they were the only family member not to have had covid so they probably had some kind of antibodies. DD was fine, as was my 14 year old back in June.

Crazy how hard it is to get kid shots for some of you. My local Boys and Girls club has walk in, no appointments needed every Monday for kids. Maybe because we are a low income, hard hit city.

It's easy here too (not far from you obviously, but a very not low income, hard hit city). I got an appointment at a local peds urgent care (walking distance from my house), and had I wanted to travel 5-10 miles away, could have had any number of appointments within a day at a dozen different pharmacies. I just got an alert my pediatrician is starting to give them, and there have been a bunch of county run walk in clinics - there's one tomorrow at a neighboring elementary school.

Aside from the Walgreens, they seem to be spacing things out here every three weeks apart so I guess the kids can go in for their second dose but it doesn't feel like the clinics have enough appointments or scheduled days. I may look at the Walgreens a few towns over.

I got lucky and checked around 0500 and slots opened up at a Walgreens in a town 20 minutes north. I checked again 2 hours later and everything was booked. The school district keeps sending notices about clinics as they open up but apparently they get booked quickly too. Even though it's a bit of a pain to go to that Walgreens, I'm glad I took what was available. They are anticipating some people will have to wait for months before their kids can get them. At the end of the day missing a half day of school and a bit of a drive was worth it to me for peace of mind.

We had no problems getting L the vaccine or the 2nd appointment. However I’ve heard from other parents it’s been difficult finding times that don’t happen during the school day.

I was coming in to ask the same thing. Glad to see all the kids have been handling them well. My kids have their appt today at 4. I’m picking them up from school for the first time but didn’t tell them why. Haha. N would have just been a nervous wreck all day so now she’ll only have a half hour to freak out. We’ll go for ice cream after as a bribery. The 2nd dose will be right before her weekend of 4 nutcracker performances, so hopefully side effects are minimal 🤞

Hi!
It was a busy day. M2 had his Thanksgiving program and lunch that I attended. We practiced his lines for a week and I thought he would get shy once all the parents showed up, but he didn’t and killed it. Proud mama. It was the cutest. I met the parents of the little girl that claimed him as her boyfriend. Lol. She’s crazy about him and her mom got my number for a potential play date. 😬
He came home with me so I wouldn’t have to make a third trip there before having to trek to Karate. He actually chilled and watched TV while I cleaned the bathrooms then made dinner. We just made it Karate a little early and he is passed out in the backseat. I forgot he didn’t get his usual school nap and driving in the dark did him in. He probably won’t be happy about waking up and going in.

M’s appointment is Saturday. Our doc’s office sent out an email about doing weekend clinics for kids, so I signed him up and cancelled our appointment in the city so I wouldn’t have to make the drive. He knows he is getting the shot, but not when yet and I won’t tell him until that morning.
M2 will be getting his flu shot, too so that won’t be fun.

Kids (especially H) cried the whole drive to the appointment but once we got there, they didn’t shed a tear and said it didn’t hurt at all. I was even able to get my booster since we were the last appts of the day!

I may look at the Walgreens a few towns over. We went to the Newtown Walgreens since our town isn't doing them yet. There were tons of kids there and DH said appointments go fast, so I assume most locations aren't offering them yet.
