It's hard to believe that people actually live like this. It blows my mind. I just can't even imagine what that kind of life is like.

Ok I'm sold. I'll take the wine cellar from #1, the rooftop from #2, and everything else in #3 including the library please!

kleigh have you started your company yet? I haven't received my paperwork from HR. LOL. Sort of. We called a bunch of companies in Philadelphia last week just as "test runs" because why not.... rather practice the pitch on companies outside of our area. I'm working on materials in between momming and doing my employers work. One small problem I'm coming across; how to market myself when I'm still working for this company if I have a non-compete with them. I should just cut the cord here and go at it. I'm riding this out until my semi annual review with my boss next Friday.

Omg jubilantsquirrel! I love #2. Such a gorgeous house. I'd love to have the view from #3, too. #1 is really nice, but nms. Also, yes, in theory we can teach anywhere. Most states it's a qualifying test along with a ton of random paperwork. There's a national certification, but it's very challenging to get. DH has his IB training so he can teach internationally in theory. I do know that Oregon and Washington use the same test (along with a few other states) so that's nice.

Hi!! I was about to delete Tapa because I thought you guys moved again and I was feeling lazy about a new login. I was pleasantly surprised to see everyone! I took today off to get my IUD and get our new kitchen appliances installed. I'm excited to have a working dishwasher again. Cal is doing well!! We have another ultrasound tomorrow and I expect it to go well. He's army crawling all over the place and mostly sleeping through the night. Here's a picture of him and Big Bro from last week (we were going to a wedding).

It sounds like work to switch states, but its2nice to know that you have the option without having to start from scratch with finding work.

jubilantsquirrel, I begrudgingly left Seattle figuring being closer to family would trump good friends close by. But I also recommend it! vino, too cute! Hi buckyb

starbuck I think well polished but received all voicemails and left messages, zero callbacks. But I expect that. I once heard you have to make 100 calls to get 10 meetings to get 1 sale. Don't know how accurate that is.

Ok finally catching up. jubilantsquirrel Did you finally get your food truck today?! Also, why don't you become a realtor!!!!!! vino Did you get your yard work done? danib I'm sure you'll get your groove back, I can't even imagine having almost "two lives" in such that you have one set of normal and another set of normal. That really goes for all the husbands working weeks away at a time. I am so disrupted by things that grow off my routine I can imagine how hard it is to switch gears back and forth. buckyb Hiiiii !!! Cheshie6 How was the Dr. Seuss garden?! You are going to share pictures aren't you? Also we are a 5:30/6am waking household.....EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. I wish no one would be part of this club, so I'm not approving your membership but I'll grant a one day pass. tgrimes I was very much impressed while shopping for your exchange gift that so many liquor stores in your area deliver. Like ::::::slow clap:::::: Texas, gdamn you guys like your bevvies. I hope the parents at least brought wine and/or are letting you get out child free for a night this week. Otherwise, why bother? starbuck I've been meaning to ask you, how do you guys wrangle bed time? It is SO difficult for one person to do bed time here because (a) they both want to go down at the same time, (b) they want to be held (not even rocked but just hold them until they fall asleep) and good luck holding two at once, and (c) they usually both toss and turn/wake for the first 30min/hour and then again after 2 hours - enough that they usually need help getting back to sleep at that point. But if hey don't get the assistance right away, they fully wake and don't want to go back to sleep. Edit tag

kleigh, I used to do both twins while MH took care of W. Usually we tandem nurse after dinner and a bath. They had been both passing out so I would nurse and snuggle until W was down and then MH would help transfer the kids to their own beds. In the last month, one or both have taken to rolling away and trying to crawl off the bed in the middle of nursing. So that doesn't work anymore. So basically I nurse and then when they start getting restless (usually it's K), MH takes one and handles a baby and W. I deal with one baby and get them down. Somehow it all comes together. They all share a room so if W is being difficult we have to keep the babies with us until he settles or if a baby is going berserk we pull that baby to our room until it passes and we can put them back in their own beds. In the new house, we will probably let W hang/play/read on his own and get the babies (or at least one) down and settle and then one of us will take care of W while we finish with the other. I think he is old enough to push his bedtime back 30min and he will be in his own space. Once I did bedtime by myself, but usually MH and I tag team. When I did it on my own, I let one keep playing in the saucer so that they were contained while I put the other down. J is actually pretty good at falling asleep on his own if I can get him relaxed I can put him in the crib awake and he will fall out. We also have to respond quickly, generally, although we let one cry a little. If it moves from like a soft cry and whine to something more insistent we are running. There have been a few nights where one started shrieking and woke up everyone. I always put the twins in bed semi-awake at nap and tend to let them cry a little more at nap time to try to get them used to self-soothing. I think that has helped them at night, at least a little, especially J. FTR I have a pack and play in our room so they are separated for naps, thus the crying is less of an issue. Does that help? I feel like every night is somewhat chaotic. Like I just got K down, it took almost two hours of her fighting it and multiple cuddle sessions and crying. We thought maybe it was teething but we gave her Motrin earlier and it didn't seem to help. I think she has some separation anxiety at bedtime. That's the only thing I can think of? Unless we are in a 3 week long leap...? She doesn't do this at nap time. ^^^sorry for the novel, ladies

starbuck Leap 6 is a month long, and i'm totally noticing a difference in J. She used to go down within 5 minutes of me leaving the room but she has been all over the place lately.
