We got an offer this morning. It's from someone who looked at the place right after we went under contract. It's a better offer than before, simply because they requested zero closing costs. LOL What a relief!! And no need to clean for an open house!

Not in the summertime! We're actually on a bit of a rainless streak right now. Going 30+ days without rain, even in the summertime, is unusual. But we also broke a 122 year old record for rainfall from October-April this past year.

jubilantsquirrel Maybe you should call to confirm so they actually show up. Has anyone complained to the person in charge? I think people did yesterday and that's why we have another supposed food truck coming today. I know it's 100% a FWP to complain about a food truck not showing up to your work place, but it is annoying when that's what you planned on getting for lunch and no cancellation notice was given ahead of time.

You all just need to visit Seattle in the summer. You'll fall in love and never want to leave. At least not until November.

I've been to WDW twice. It was in the age range when Disney movies played on a continuous loop in my house, princesses were life, and my dad was still around. So it was MAGIC.
That's why I'm taking M for her birthday even though I'm well aware it is next level extra. I eye roll myself sometimes.

OMW We've had 90+ temps with no less than 65% humidity for more than two weeks and it doesn't look like the weather is going to break any time soon. Would not mind not feeling like I'm melting for a day or two. Seriously though, I've met a few people from your area and there is so much good to say about it. It sounds like an amazing place to live.

My MIL will complain about it being humid sometimes but I just laugh because I'm pretty certain she has no idea what humidity feels like. And it is! It's $$$ for sure, but I love it here. I do think it would be fun to live in other regions just for the experience but MH is adamant about staying here. I once asked him if we had to leave the state of Washington, where would he want to go, and without missing a beat he said "Oregon". So I guess we're PNW for lyfe.

jubilantsquirrel I have been to Washington once about 10 years ago and LOVED it. I also spent my 26th birthday in Oregon (late October) and it was amazing. Washington is better, imo, but I really want to live there someday. DH and I have discussed it. We're probably staying here for the foreseeable future, but maybe when Lilah goes to college we'll move up.

Maybe both your girls will go to Washington state colleges and then you'll no option but to move here! It's actually kind of cool that since you're both teachers you can theoretically live anywhere. I mean, I'm pretty sure you'll need to get certified in other states, right? But it's not like you have to live in a major metro area, you can pick smaller areas and still (hopefully) find employment.

My H really wants to live in Colorado. He visited a few years back and fell completely in love with it. He has spent the last 8 years of our relationship trying to convince me (who's never visited) to move there. I'm sure I would love it but can't bring myself to leave my family because we are all super close. I also feel sort of obligated to stay because DH's brother live in VA beach and his sister just moved back to Maryland after being here for a year. So we have the only grandkids on his side of the family local.
One day we'll move. We've always talked about it when the kids are older and off to college. And the PNW is on our radar.

So this was my conversation with B this morning:
Me: ok B, you've got about 10 minutes before Baba comes to pick you up B: (starts cleaning up while singing the 'clean up' song, clean his toys, J's, looks under all the chairs/couches Then starts walking downstairs.) Me: B where are you going? B: I need a broom, this place is a mess.
This kid is totally mine.

This is how I think people feel about my area as well; the summers are amazing and there is so much to do in my city, fall is beautiful with the river valley and all the trees changing colours, winter happens where everyone just deals with it or flies to Arizona, then spirits lift up about March/April-ish

Well, someone needs to watch the kids while we drink wine. We'll need to make a flash card that says 'Figure it out' for the zillion questions they'll have. We'll just hold it up when they start coming at us. Wait...just MH?

DUDE FIGURE IT OUT. I GOT WINE TO DRINK.

MH has asked me before what he could do to help and I tell him I have a million things to do, so if he can just pick their snack and give it to them so I don't have to worry about it, that's all I need. And then like 5 seconds later he is listing off options in the pantry asking me which to give them. It was almost helpful.

jubilantsquirrel wine cellar is a must. Do you know how much wine tgrimes drinks? I'm afraid of elevators (FFTC?) so I'll always take the stairs.

That second house had a neat little play area for kids, we can just tear that down and build our very own wine house instead. Like a play house, but for adults.
