I know some of you have this already and some may be looking at getting the Switch so I figured I would make a thread. Are physical or digital games best? I understand there is some sort of subscription? What is that for and do you need it to purchase digital games? Can you play digital offline?
What games would you recommend for our kids? I am getting Just Dance but that is for me really:) Games are buy 2 get 1 at Target so I wanted to jump on that.

Mario Odyssey Mario Kart Mario Party Minecraft Just Dance is a ton of fun I've never Pokemon'd but I'd imagine C would love it. Maddie loves Human Fall flat (I can't stand it). The Lego games are usually reasonably priced and fun.
Personally I prefer digital games so you don't have to switch cartridges and worry about losing them, but you can run out of space so you might need a memory card. We mostly have cartridges and one nice carrying case with lots of slots for cartridges is a must.
The online subscription has a ton of classic games (original NES, Super NES, N64). My girls have played classic games with me so they like it but if your kid isn't into classic games it wouldn't have much of a draw.

If I have the physical games, I don't need to worry about memory right?

S loves Pokemon Sword, Minecraft, Zelda and a few other Pokemon games I can check when I get home. Mario Kart too
I think the subscription is what allows him to play with his friends. S has a few friends that he always plays online with. We had to assign a code and set up a "room" so he can't play with strangers.
We started out only buying physical games b/c I didn't want to worry about the memory, but now we've switched to digital so he doesn't have to bring it places. He brings his switch to his BFFs house a lot.

If I have the physical games, I don't need to worry about memory right? Correct. Fyi, you can download the Hulu app for streaming on the go (if connected to WiFi). I don't know if they ever got Disney+ on there but they were supposed to. The app version is a bit clunky but nice for travel if you don't want to also bring a tablet. Animal Crossing is another great game.

I’m buying M Pokémon Snap for Christmas. He’s very into Pokémon now that he and a couple kids in his class trade cards.
