There have been a lot of questions- can we put it in one place? 1- if I get a Switch for my 2 kids, what else would I need to get so they can play at the same time? Extra controllers? If so, what kind? Anything else? Can they use it together if it’s not connected to a tv? 2- what are your family’s favorite kid games? (My kids are 7 and 9.) Do any games come on it? When people say to download games, do I do that right on the device or get a card with a code that I’ve seen around? Thank you for answering questions for a dinosaur. Most of my gaming experience was on an Atari.

1. Extra controllers and a holder. Our switch allows us to sit it upright and play mobile without having the controller connected. So as long as they don’t fight for space, they can both play on it mobile.
2. We like Mario Kart, Animal Crossing , Zelda, Just Dance (but you need to pay for an annual subscription).

Thanks for this thread! L keeps asking for a "Light Switch" and I think she means a Switch Lite? If she were older and would get the joke, I'd totally wrap up a lightswitch for her.

My 4 year old carries our full sized switch around. Yes it drives my anxiety up, but none of them have broken it yet. We have the TV dock, but if we leave it in the dock he'll steal it randomly and hide under a bed with it. So, we charge it and then put it up really high, but that usually means when the kids are allowed to have it, they sit on the couch with it. Sometimes they'll play together, but they mostly play Mario Maker individually. We have Mario Kart that they'll sometimes play together.

What kind of extra controller do you suggest? I’m so overwhelmed by the options!

I like the holders for single player games. I believe we got a memory card as well. But we down load most games.
