I would not recommend Lamb. It bills itself as horror but is just not horror IMO and nothing happens.

I would not recommend Lamb. It bills itself as horror but is just not horror IMO and nothing happens. Good to know. Probably perfect for MH though! (I might fall asleep.) Have you ever seen The Lighthouse? He thought it was amazing, and I thought it was insanely boring, (though beautiful cinematography!)

It was good if you like foreign films and like more head scratching what did I just see movies and hate real horror. It's 1:45 mins and literally nothing happens until 1:40. Everyone I've talked to who has seen it had the same WTF reaction.

I get so bummed that nothing scares me anymore. I need a good scary movie.
I was always a Freddy fan, the original NoES is probably my favorite horror movie.

I just watched Nightmare on Elm Street for the first time this week and it was so good! I was pleasantly surprised. PSA to all: Never ever watch the reboot from 2010. Worst. Reboot. Ever.

Oh this is my jam, I love horror.
I recently watched Malignant on HBO, and….. it was interesting. It’s not scary at all in my opinion, I’d call it entertaining. I busted out laughing at a few scenes. It has that cheese ball quality that horror does well.
Next on my list is that new Megan Fox flick on Netflix, I’ve heard good things

The Woman in Black had me too scared to get of the couch
I don’t love slasher movies but supernatural thrillers scare the shit out of me

I almost started this thread yesterday! Yay! I recently watched The Empty Man on HBO and it had so much promise but I am so mad it lol. I'm also looking for recommendations for movies that are good for kids. DS likes scary stuff but obviously not too scary. K loved nightbooks and a babysitter’s guide to monster hunting on Netflix. Oh vampires in the Bronx is another one we watched as a family

I like a lot of the movies mentioned here. Nightmare on Elm Street is such a great creepy concept regarding a monster who can get you in your sleep. The Descent is one of my all-time favorites. One of the few to actually creep me out. The cramped spaces were enough to heighten my anxiety. The Poltergeist series has huge nostalgia for me, as does It, Child's Play and Rosemary's Baby. I also like House of Wax, Paranormal Activity, 30 Days of Night ( brux, tell Josh Hartnett's parents he did really well in that movie), and Silent Hill.

My 10 yo loves scary movies. Some more kid-friendly ones for early scares: Goosebumps House with the Clocks on the Walls Are You Afraid of the Dark series Night Books (on Netflix) Little Monsters Gremlins Coraline More amped up scares: Poltergeist (my kid thought the "chicken-winged demon" from the second one was adorable) Child's Play 1 (less gory than the rest) Thirteen Ghosts Puppetmaster Dolls Ghoulies

Not true horror, but slasher/funny (along the lines of Scream) movie I watch over and over again is Happy Death Day
I watched The Babysitter and the Babysitter 2 last night on Netflix during a bout of insomnia and thought they were pretty good ( same type- slasher/comedy)

all of the Halloweens except the 2nd one 3rd one? Season of the witch? Yes. It's the 2nd Nightmare on Elm Street that is the worst and 3rd Halloween. Thanks.

The kids and I went and saw Halloween Kills. It wasn't bad. It had a decent story. I was wondering how they were going to bring Michael back.

Oh The Ring!
I was a kid who always loved scary movies and I was 13 or 14 when that came out and I saw it in the theaters. That was the first movie that scared the shit outta me. I was fine until she came out of the TV then that image haunted me for awhile 🤣

The Ring is terrifying. Omg.
High Tension is the worst horror movie I’ve ever seen.
