Whats up ladies? I hate that our board is dying. It sucks. My SIL and brother are due with their twins next month and Im so excited. So is J. PreK has been great for him. He is now potty trained ( thank goodness) and talks so much. He gets OT and speech and the teachers tell me how much they love him. My aides are in his class 3 days a weeknso I know he is doing well.
His writing is improving. His phonics and reading is awesome. Hes been sounding out words. They take a letter, word test next week and i cant wait to see how he scores.
As for me, work is exhausting. Im restraining more now than i have in years. It sucks becauae I dont want J to see me doing that. So far he hasnt but theyve had to call for me as an all call multiple times. My least favorite kid to restrainis a six year old boy who strips butt naked. Im so tired of seeing his butt and penis and having him throw underwear at me. We also have a 182 pound girl in 5th grade who has been a real treat since she outweighs me by 45 pounds. Im tired, the pandemic has wrecked some of these kids.

Bless you for working with those kids though, king26. My DS is having some real issues with this school transition after doing hybrid Kindergarten. I’ve been having to restrain him at home bc he’s having a daily meltdown when he gets home and getting aggressive towards me/DD. Luckily it hasn’t happened at school yet. I’m glad J is doing great with PreK. How sweet you’ll have new twins in the family! L is going to preschool 3 mornings a week and doing good. She’s missed quite a few days because of school germs going around. Ugh, it’s been a stressful 2 months between her broken collarbone, random sickness and having to COVID test and all that. Mix in DS’ issues and I’m ready for a mom-cation.

The kids are at Grandma’s house this weekend. By 10am on Saturday morning I knew they needed to get the fuck out, so fingers crossed that they’re gone for two nights since it’s a long weekend. T didn’t want to go and we forced her to go one night - I’m hoping she will stay two, but she’s going through some weird emotional thing where she wants to be home with me.
R loves school and I’m pretty pleased with her teacher. Everything her teacher does seems to involve working on fine motor or gross motor skills. R is always telling me some story about how they tried hopping on one foot or were skipping somewhere or some finger game. She still hasn’t decided on being a left or righty. She seems more interested in wanting to learn to read, but I think I’m going to hold off a little longer on the sight words. They seem to be banging through the alphabet at school and I’m interested to see where they go when they reach Z since they’re following a Scholastic program that’s new to the district. R was also refusing to eat the free school lunch, so now I pack a lunch and she seems less hungry when we get home.
T loves school, too. Her teacher keeps moving kids around in the classroom and I’m not sure if she’s regrouping kids by skills or by their attention span. Her teacher did tell me at open house that she’s started being more social and talking when she shouldn’t - but part of that I think is she’s always the first one done with the school work/tests. Her conference is in December, but I told the teacher that I felt her handwriting and checking her work for accuracy was what I thought was important since she knows the stuff they’re doing now.
Almost every morning the kids give me a hard time about getting out the door and the ride home is awful too. T takes the bus to school and I drop R off. R often has some sort of problem every fucking day. She’s awful in the car anytime she’s in there - she always has some fucking issue. Her seat belt is tight, her back hurts, T won’t give her a magazine she wants, she wants the song Henry the VIII on, her hair is in her face, she’s cold, she’s hot, she’s thirsty and out of water, T is looking out her window, the drive thru at McDonald’s is taking too long, her rain coat is wet and she wants it off, she wants to go for a bike ride and I won’t confirm she’ll be able to, she wanted to open/close the car door, etc.
So, yeah, we are plugging along.

Hey all. Fall break has just ended here and D. is back in school again. We had a nice, low-key break with some outings, a day at grannies, several playdates, lots of crafts, etc. Unfortunately our planned weekend get-away fell thru cause I messed up reservations LOL but we found other fun stuff to do. I'm glad school is back in session though at the same time I really enjoyed our extra time together. She loves school and I do enjoy having more "free" time on my hands but at the same time it's still an adjustment after having spent 4 years with her at home most days!

king26, how exciting about your twin nieces/nephews! Glad to read J is doing well in school and is having a good time. Sorry to hear work for youis so rough though. bsouls, R. falling apart about one thing or another while in the car home sounds like Broken Cookie Phenomenon. D has it as well some days and it is rough as F! Solidarity! I try to stay calm cause I know she is just decompressing and working through stuff, but it's hard sometimes for mama too! pennylane, where can I sign up for that mom-cation! Glad to read L is enjoying preschool but sucks on all the germs huh.
