I have several friends who have gone off the deep end with Optavia and they’ve always gained everything back. It’s almost like a starvation diet of processed diet food isn’t a sustainable life choice? sweetp My cynical guess why there are so few outdoor runs is because the company would prefer we do our workouts on their branded bike or treadmill. It’s annoying, I like listening to the power walks when I’m with the dog and I’ve done them all a million times now. It was Halloween run day for me, I did Matty’s and Susie’s for a little over 4 miles. Nothing will ever measure up to Matty’s last year but they were still fun! Going to try to get to Becs and Jess King’s runs too before Sunday. I did Becs' Halloween run the other day. It's hard!

So I just FB stalked a lady I know from childhood who recently lost a lot of weight and she said it was Optavia. So now I wait to see what happens. 😬 Make sure you report back, for science.

Taking peoples money, and a lot of it, making big promises while knowing full well what’s going to happen when the plan is done. All the while making women feel like some sort of failure for not being able to keep the weight off. Rage.

Evening!
Today I wasn't feeling the HCOTF stack (just not into Flash 15s) plus I needed to get done quickly so I did the newest 45 min boot camp from Callie. I really liked it!
B - everything bagel thin, turkey bacon, fruit L - steak wrap w/ leftover steak, pretzels D - shrimp wonton soup (Skinnytaste adaptation) + 2 mini egg rolls (Aldi) S - frozen banana with salted caramel hummus prob
I had my first therapy session and it was honestly fabulous. I loved the counselor, she was easy to talk to and so kind. It felt good to just get everything out. I'll meet with her again in 2 weeks. I could have chosen weekly but I think 2 weeks will be fine for me, plus I don't want too much time out of work.

I thought I was going down with the illness ship today and ended up leaving work early but I think it was a false alarm and just anxiety over the possibility of being sick. I was like “am I thirsty or is my stomach sad? Am I hungry or is my stomach going to erupt?” Then My h sent me a text that he woke up from sleeping only 2 hours post-night shift feeling gross and I was like “ok nope going home.” Does anyone else have GI illness anxiety? Like I would rather have 25 colds than 1 bout of stomach flu. In me or the kids. Yes! This is 100 percent me. I can do ANYTHING but vomit. I had my mask on in the house, headphones in and had to look away during the time I was tending to my kid the past few days. I have been terrified of catching it, throwing up is such a fear of mine. My stomach was off all day today at work but only when I was thinking about it. We’re now over 48 hours past the onset of his bug so I am super hopeful that the rest of us are good. FX for all of you!

**cautiously peeks out of hopefully no longer sick kids life** Hi. I lost a few pounds during this last episode of sick kids. Apparently you can still get some symptoms of Hand, Foot & Mouth as an adult? 🌈The more you know! 🌈 Hoping to either maintain the loss or gain it back in lean mass. Planning to focus my work on strengthening my core, stabilizing my hips, and improving flexibility. My H caught HFM from my oldest several years ago and it is the sickest he has ever been. Hope you are feeling better!

I didn’t know anything about it until y’all started talking about it here but I remembered her posting a couple of months ago about a big weight loss and then answering someone in the comments with a weird way she did it. I hope she’s ok with her health. I also know that they target all types of people but I continually get amazed when otherwise smart people fall for this stuff.

I didn’t get a chance to walk at work today, but I stacked two low impact rides and the HCOTF 10 min core from yesterday that I didn’t do. I was pretty sore after, which felt good.
Food has been excellent today.

DS had no symptoms but I started having some and googled and was like oh shit. I went to the doctor and the PA was like…ummm…I have to Google this because I haven’t seen a case in 20 years. It was the week of thanksgiving and I was supposed to host. I had to ship everyone off to MILs.

I did a 30 min run with Selena. My legs were heavy at the start but then I really picked it up once I warmed up. Selena is becoming my favorite instructor. She’s sneaky motivating. She also said “clear eyes, Full heart, can’t lose” today so…she wins my affection.
We ate out tonight for a school fundraiser and I picked something from the lighter menu and it was excellent.

Dear uterus- you really couldn't wait one more fucking hour and had to start your bullshit in the middle of rack pulls? Fuck you.
Things went mostly ok today (other than jerk uterus). Weights were a little less than I had planned for deadlifts and rack pulls, but I'm also kind of at that point in my training too. Little things are going to make a big difference. That and I'm sitting over here being annoyed with pulling only 413 for a set of 2 with 2 left in the tank, so I need to get over that. A couple years ago I would have shanked someone for that pull in a meet, let alone for a training set.

I had a good night of sleep again, even better than the night before. So I felt quite alert once I got downstairs and started my warm up. It has been awhile since that happened. Today was good. It was push day and I increased my reps with some lower weights and still felt it was hard and burning at the end of my sets so I will take it. Bench press went well and so did my military press, so I am looking forward to tomorrow and hoping I won't be as sore as normal 🤞
B: Toasted egg and meat sandwich, blueberries L: Turkey sandwich, dried mango, cookies D: Chicken, spaghetti squash, peppers, chili sauce, laughing cow cheese Snack: Ricecakes and peanut butter

I did not sleep hardly at all last night. I have to go back to work in person next week, and I'm really anxious about it.
Yesterday, I walked, did a Flash 15, and baked pumpkin oatmeal chocolate chip cookies with my kids.
Today I am on (bike) dropoff duty, and have a run planned.

A co-worker did the Optavia thing for a while. I haven't seen her post it in a long time, I'm hoping she got out. Workout done. I'll have to do it early tomorrow if I'm going to do it, between my usual going to DQ for lunch and ToT tomorrow night, there won't be any other time! My runs have gotten a little more fun and don't seem to drag as much, I got away from the programmed "training" runs and I've been doing a series with simulated chunks of the Boston course. 45 min easy run ("easy", haha, it went up to 6% at one point) MBFA - Day 2 Core Circuit Advanced I wish I could love MBF. I finished 21day fix then started MBF and after day 8 I just couldn’t stand it anymore… Sunday was my last one It took me a minute to get into it, the asymmetrical work kind of threw me for a while. I get it!

Managed to get it done early today because of ToT tonight. I'm surprising DS, he's dressing up as Sonic but thinks I'm not dressing up with him this year. I got the stuff to resemble Amy Rose, I had to piece meal it because I couldn't find any adult Amy Rose costumes outside of ridiculously priced cosplay.

Hello!
Morning workouts have not been happening for me lately so I think I’m going to try for a run after bedtime tonight. I’m just planning on two miles, so it should be doable.
I did do some strength on my break from work though. I did a 10 minute lower body with Robin and a 5 minute core with Ben. It all felt good, when I was done. It felt really hard during, lol.

Managed to get up again this morning. I almost tried to talk myself out of it, but I chugged my preworkout and got up. Got in 3.5 miles to a Saturday 60. The workout and playlist were amazing, but the shouts were relentless. My gosh.
Protein bar Bagel with strawberry cream cheese Pizza (at our faculty meeting) ??
We never grocery shopped this weekend, because out of town, and I haven't felt like going after school with kids in tow, so it's been survival eating in our house all week.

potatocakes - Hugs to you! I went back to the office at the beginning of summer and also had anxiety leading up to it. FWIW, it's been ok being back. I don't like the commute any more than I did before, but it was nice to see my co-workers after so long.

Peloton users, does Peloton offer any long runs in their programs? That's the one area I am going to struggle for new routes on my treadmill, and I'm bored to tears with the half marathon "training" courses on there, I've done the same pattern a million times.

I’m sitting here eating my breakfast, even though I got up 4 hours ago. After I finish a couple of things around the house I will head out for the gym. I am going to attempt to do some speed work on the treadmill before swimming. However, I don’t know how successful it will be with a mask. I know people do it all the time, but I run outside. We will see.
Food should be fine today as long as I keep my hands out of the Hershey kiss bowl.

Okay. Hi, everyone!
I have been in a PLACE. I haven't been on the bike in weeks--combination of pain in my legs and low motivation and busyness.
I am waiting for the insurance person at the surgeon's office to call me back with an update on whether or not it will be covered. BUT, I just discovered the "Breaking Up with Bingeing" podcast, and it's like this lady is in my head. One of my biggest fears is that I won't be able to dig myself out of this hole, and it's nice to have some mental work to do around this.

I’ve stacked 3 45 minute runs for long training runs before, and then maybe tacked on a cooldown. Also, Rusty Red, NRC has some 90 and 120 minute guided (audio only though) runs on their app. They’re free, so maybe worth a try. Even if you paired one of those with a visual “course,” it might help to have someone in your ear.

I was up early to bring DD to a before school skateboard session. But I did also get in Sam Yo’s Halloween ride. It was good— the end of that progressive hill to Ghostbusters was killer!

I did a PZ ride this morning (week 5, ride 2). We are back in the difficult weeks so I am toning the strength down since most of the rides are really leg heavy at this point. I'll keep doing arms/core though.
I have been toying with the idea of doing an actual lifting program. I listen to Mind Pump occasionally and I found one of their programs MAPS aesthetic, that has been modified to do at home with dumbbells so I may try that instead of random classes to see if a progressive plan works better.
I also tried the tiktok overnight oat trend, where you take some jello cake powder, milk, oats, and fruit. I tried banana cream pie pudding + oat milk + oats + a banana + chia seeds + ground flax. it was actually very good and I will do it again, but no flax. It really killed the flavour lol. I wanted to try the blueberry cheesecake jello plus blueberries but my little town store didn't have it.
