My former student sent me a wedding invitation. At the bottom it says P.S. If you do not RSVP by October 31st, please bring a chair and a sandwich. Lol.

That's funny tgrimes. I'm working from home. B was fine this morning, but I am half waiting for a phone call. Fingers crossed it doesn't happen. Assuming he stays fine, S school is doing movie on the blacktop tonight so we'll grab pizza and head there, and we have flu shots tomorrow. MH comes home tomorrow night and Sunday I am supposed to have brunch with the girls for a joint celebration for my birthday and another friend who's birthday is next week.

Happy Friday!
The rental I was given yesterday came up with a warning last night on the way home, that I needed to stop the car because it was overheating. I rolled my eyes and kept driving, watching the thermometer the rest of the way home. I told H about it last night so he added some antifreeze. No problems on the way to work. But I swear...
No plans tonight. Evie is walking with her GS troop in a parade tomorrow, so I'm walking with her. It's a 1.3 mile walk, so I'm not sure how she will do, at least it's slow.

Morning.
Happy Friday! More organizing and cleaning for me today. We signed the boys up for parent’s night out at our gym so we’re going out to eat somewhere. I need to figure out where.

Morning. I just got done getting my flu shot. Viv was very upset about me getting the shot, which I thought was funny. Good thing she has her 15m appt next week and will get shots. That is going to go really well. It’s rainy and overcast here today, hello fall. jewels I bet he will make it through the day just fine

Morning. Kids are off school today for teacher workshop so we are tagging along with Dh into the cities. He has a work lunch so we’ll drop him off and find a park or something and grab lunch. Then we’re going to stop at peloton to check out the new tread, pottery barn to finally monogram Ls stocking, and of course a total wine stop.
We have friends coming for the weekend from Des Moines. We always go there in the spring and they come here in the fall. Looking forward to a fun weekend with them.
Last night was my first night of volleyball in almost a year. Two hours of volleyball and I. am. sore. Ooof.

mwhip I would not ever purchase a car from that dealership again. Lol. My Jeep wasn't even purchased from this dealership...the place I bought it is about 45 minutes away and I refuse to drive down there for warranty work when I pass a dealership on the way to my office. The rental is an Audi, so I was kind of excited, but not anymore! I just have the worst luck.

Has a ctj with mh yesterday because I can't continue doing EVERYTHING. I do pick ups, drop offs, taxi service to all afterschool programs, I'm late to work every morning because of drop off, etc. etc. I'm basically burning at both ends and about to burn out in a major way. He basically said it was my fault for scheduling her extra stuff during business hours....um....the programs don't operate during non business hours...? He has to WORK. He can't just rearrange his hours. He's a fucking designer. it doesn't matter if he does his shit at 9am or 9pm, but sure. It also doesn't seem to effect his ability to take off for "band practice" at 3 on Tuesdays. Anyway, we ended the conversation with him getting up in the mornings and taking her to school, as well as helping get things done at night to make getting ready in the morning easier (lunch prep, etc.) Fast forward to this morning, when no attempt was made to even get up, Cadence got ready and out the door with ME behind the wheel dropping her off. He then proceeded to try and say that it was MY fault because I never confirmed the new plans with him. He was the one that said he would take her to school, so I'm not sure why that's on me.....
I am.....aggrevated.
BUT, it's Friday, so I get off at noon and can go home and nap. Then I'll wake up and walk to the school to get Cadence. The weather is insanely nice right now. Maybe we'll have time for her to play on the playground a little bit before dance class....which is at 5:30 (hey, look at that, that's AFTER normal business hours. Go figure!)
*rant over*

I’m sorry. klong11 that’s bad. I get it. It is tough when everything falls on you and your partner isn’t attempting to help at all. I would be so annoyed that he didn’t even try to help this morning. You shouldn’t have to do this, but can you make a schedule for him? A calendar with all her stuff and what days he has drop off and getting her to one or two activities a week? And let C know this plan if he agrees so she stays on his ass about it. Lol

I was just thinking about this the other day, too. Bringing both kids to extra curriculars most days have been an adjustment. I wish their karate was back to back on the same days, but it’s not. We’re often making 4 trips to the dojo a week and then M’s drum lesson. It’s a lot. the last 3 weeks, M2 only got to karate once in the week. We tried, but had other stuff scheduled close to the time of his class and didn’t make it. I was like… how does kim22 and her H do it?? And I don’t even work every day! I’m hoping it will be a little easier next year when M and M2 are in the same school on the same schedule although it makes me a little sad that my baby will be in school. 😭 I feel like that was all over the place, but I’m sure you guys get it.

He's been saying for a month that he would get Cadence her new ballet shoes and just hasn't done it. So I texted him and said the dance shoe store is open from 9-4 tomorrow. Here is the address. So now he's taking her tomorrow. And I said she needs ballet shoes and the turning toe shoes she wants (only covers the toe and has straps around the ankle or whatever). His response was, "So I have to get her TWO pairs?" Yes. Yes, you do.

klong11 That's so frustrating. H stepped up his game in regards to Evie when he wasn't working, but still didn't help with household stuff, so I get it. I was talking to one of my best friends this week and told her this year has really tested our marriage. So vent away. It's so unfair when one spouse puts the workload on the other and doesn't understand how much organization is involved in it.

klong11 , I'm so irritated on your behalf. That's so frustrating. I get it. MH was not holding up his share of the division of labor for a very long time and it was a huge issue--like I don't know if I want to be married to him issue. Frankly, I would find it much easier to do it all myself if I were single rather than have a partner who doesn't do their share and just be pissed at everything I'm doing that they could help with and don't. It's gotten much better, still not equal, but definitely more balanced which has helped us get to a healthier place. I hope he gets his shit together and steps up his game.

tgrimes , I love that you guys dress up. That Stitch costume looks like it'd be cozy PJs to use afterwards...although in TX I don't know how often you'd need it! The girl who voiced Lilo is the same girl who was the one who crawls through the TV set in The Ring--I used to babysit her. I have a little story about that if interested. Years ago MH and I were both big Lost fans so we ordered jumpsuits like they wore in the Dharma Initiative and official Lost patches that we had sewn on saying as much. Whenever we wear them on Halloween no one knows what the hell we are and just thinks we're janitors or gas station attendants.

Please tell me the story. Also, I've never seen Lost. Lost is a really good show. I rewatched it for the third time earlier this year. It's one of my top 10 all-time favorites. I think it streams on Prime or IMDB. I think it would lose a bit of it's magic not watching it the first time through because there was such a huge culture of fans going online and deciphering all the little clues, of course waiting all summer for the cliffhangers to resolve and the mindblowing conclusions. I know a lot of people hated the ending but I thought it was a really good ending overall. Ok, the dirt. PDQ this part. {Spoiler} I'll just call her Lilo. As I've mentioned before my mom does in-home dc. She watched Lilo during the day, when her mom worked swing shift I watched her in the evening. She was around 4-5 yo when I babysat her. Her mom was obsessed with the pageant circuit. Always wanted me to have her practice her routines. One night she threw a tantrum and tore apart her feather boa. She had a lisp like a lot of little kids do, but it disappeared when she sang and she had a pretty singing voice. Her mom was deadset to get her into Hollywood.
She went to a pageant in LA and her mom came back thrilled that everyone there was "blown away" by her talent. She said the mom of JS, the middle daughter from Full House, was there and offered to have them move in with them. At this time FH was over and this was probably around the time that JS was getting heavy into drugs. Apparently she went because she just disappeared. Didn't show up one day when she was supposed to bring Lilo for dc.
Later that year at our small town's Christmas bazaar over the intercom there was an announcement that Lilo, who hailed all the way from Hollywood, CA, will be performing. Then she sang a few Christmas songs. She was probably just there visiting her grandma for the holidays but her mom made sure the announcement made it sound like she was a Hollywood starlet on tour. That was the last time we saw her. The Ring, L&S, and a short-lived TV show was about all she ever did. Her mom was cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs so I hope in the end she was ok.

Yes, M is Annabelle. H hasn't decided yet. He loves costumes so we have plenty for him to choose from. Hulk, batman, Geico, Buzz, Mario, iron man, etc. He waivers daily.
