Apparently I have early birds… they’re in bed by 7/7.15 and lights out by 7.30/8 (depending on how tired they are. Usually they’re asleep by 8, especially now it’s getting darker at night. They wake between 7/7.30. I would love to put mine to bed earlier, but can't with when i get off work, make the drive home, get dinner on the table and bathe them, etc.

Dh and I both work within a 10-15 bike range from home, Tuesday and Friday are the only days dh and both work (I’m off on Monday/Wednesday & dh has parental leave on Thursday) and even then we’re both home by 5.30/6 at the latest.

I would definitely not call us night owls but the fact that sometimes MH and I are still up at 10 on a weeknight feels crazy. If I’m asleep before 10 I think that’s crazy. We’re definitely night owls here. I never could fall asleep early when I was a kid. My mind would keep me up when I was in bed. The boys normally fall asleep within 15-20 min of actually laying down but getting them to settle down is what takes the longest. I could do better.

I'm not sure why my body hates sleep. I've been taking benadryl at night to help me sleep recently. I still wake up a bunch but it helps me to fall back asleep faster.

C goes up about 7:45 and is probably asleep by 8:30. He wakes between 6-7 no matter how late he stays up. He used to get up at 5 so that’s a huge improvement.
Some weekends he will be up later but it depends what’s going on. Now that he has sports on weekend mornings I’m trying to get him in bed like it’s a school night.

Today is a bit nuts with scheduling. C has soccer practice and I have to leave midway to pick up the dog from daycare. Then I have an hour to kill before she goes back for her final training session that ends at 8. My parents will meet at the field and take C until I get home. Dh had a board meeting tonight and will get home around midnight.
C is very stressed that he will get lost in this shuffle with my parents. He has been increasingly nervous that he is “going to lose us”. It’s gotten to the point that if he doesn’t see me immediately he breaks down crying. This has happened twice this week when I was in the side yard picking up Lola’s poop. I’m not sure what is setting this off and he’s not saying when we talk about it. He was a bit clingy on the summer but it’s more than that now. I spoke to my therapist about it and she works with kids as well so she has me tracking his triggers so she can help me help him. It’s sad but also frustrating because he wants to be tethered to me. For a kid that’s always been so independent, it’s odd.

guster T and C go to bed at 8 unless I’m alone and we are forced to pick big kids up later. Both fall asleep pretty quickly for the most part. They get up around 7. DD, who used to be at gymnastics until 9 since 2Nd grade went to bed at 7:30 last night now she starts school earlier than she used to.

I try to get L & E in bed by 700. L falls asleep quickly. I’m lucky if E falls asleep by 800/830. She usually sings a musical to me through the monitor. They are both up at 600 no matter what.

Also, in sleep news, yesterday Josie went to bed a little after 8 and woke up at six 6 which I took as a win. Last night she didn't go to sleep until almost 845 but she did sleep until 7 this morning. Small wins? MH and I have been talking about it and I know that this varies very much so by family and schedules, but what time are your N13s going to bed? This even feels a little late for me, but i think on school nights, I would like Josie in bed by 730 and fast asleep by 815. Bedtime at my house is 8, although sometimes it drags on and they don’t get into bed until 8:30. My children do not sleep in so they’re usually up before 7 sometime.

I bet it has to do with going back to school after being with you for so long. I’m sure he will get adjusted soon. Sorry, it’s stressful to deal with.

Long day over here. I ran a bunch of errands from 11-2. Then after the girls got home we went and sat in the line for CFA, today is their grand opening and it took 50 minutes. I feel a little ridiculous but oh well. Now I’m at work.

Last night B was telling me a girl in his class was out Tuesday and was there yesterday but had ‘allergies’ and was coughing all day
B came home from school with a runny nose and sneezing a bit. He sounds congested. No other symptoms. They said nothing to me at pickup but it seems to have gotten worse as the night progressed. I happen to be working from home tomorrow. Do I keep him home? He has his gym ninja class tomorrow that’s so fun I hate to keep him away if it’s nothing. But I also don’t want to bring him if it’s something.
I hate 2021

That sounds like what E and I have. E’s been sick all week. I started feeling sick yesterday but it hit me hard today.

Last night I got a swollen lymph node in my right armpit. The day I tested positive for covid, I one in my neck, also on the right. I’m thinking it’s still from covid so I’ll give it a few days before I call my doctor but it hurts. I also think my smell is not totally back. I do not smell the mice and they usually stink like a day after cleaning them. I also found a cup in my classroom that I thought was water but it turned out to be milk and when I dumped it, I didn’t smell it at all. It was dated 8/26 and it looked awful. I feel like it had to have smelled.

I hope it’s just a new adjustment but he was at camp every day all summer and in school all last year. When he was at my parents tonight he told my dad I was gone too long and I must be dead. Then when I thought he was in bed I come around the corner outside to him crying again that he thought I left. 🙁 I think I’ll give it another week or two and if it’s not improved we might need to see a therapist to help him work through his worries.

chrisy01 I can check tomorrow about a test. I’ve heard the rapids are not that accurate so I’d probably get a pcr if that’s the case. I guess I’ll see how he is in the morning.

Yeah get him tested just to be sure. It will be at the back of your mind until you do. I think when symptomatic, the rapids are ok. If you can do both, do both of them. Maybe the little girl tested when she was out and it was negative so it could just be the bad cold/ allergies making it’s way. FX it’s just that.

Pcr tests are only taking half a day to get results here so you may get results somewhat quickly. If it makes you feel better, RSV is going around right now and has the same symptoms as Covid. S never tested positive after H was positive but she’s had a bad cold for about 10 days now. So it very well could be just a regular cold.

I honestly feel like it’s just a minor cold. I just am not sure what to do about school. He slept through the night and I didn’t hear him sneezing or anything so I guess I’ll see what he’s like when he wakes up. The sneezing wouldn’t even have registered with me in 2019

He was fine this morning, just a tiny bit raspy voice, and is at day care. I told them he had sneezed a bunch last night but seemed normal this morning and they did not seem concerned. It seems there is a small cold going around there.
