S’s Covid test came back negative, but she still has a fever so she’s home with me today. RSV is going around pretty bad here so I’m just assuming that’s what she has. So today will be low key hanging at home.

I dropped my Jeep off at the dealership this morning to get the warranty work done so it quit beeping at me and shutting the radio off with every left turn. Then walked 1.09 miles to my office.
Nothing exciting here. Today is Evie's picture day. She was a little grump while I was curling her hair. And we argued last night because I specifically told her this weekend to pick out what she was going to wear, so we wouldn't be scrambling night before. Then when I got home yesterday, she told me she wanted to wear a tank top and denim jacket...I know she would forget her jacket, so I told her no. Then she picked out a shirt with graphics on it...again no. Or a gray shirt, so she would have blended into the background and looked like a floating head. Finally we both agreed on a plain bright pink shirt. I don't know why she didn't listen to me this weekend...or why I didn't make her show me exactly what her plan was, so last night would have been avoided. Pretty sure I told her I'm never buying her clothes again.

mwhip , I pulled out a dress for Cadence this morning and her response was "um, actually....I want to wear shorts and a shirt today"....fine. pick it out. What I don't understand is why she couldn't just do that in the first place. Why just stand around in your pajamas waiting for me to go in and get something for you to inevitably say you weren't going to wear because you had other plans. Also, I shouldn't have to tell her to pee in the morning, and yet, every morning I'm having to put it in her to do list. When I get up its the first thing I do. Not her, she'll roam around the house doing lloyd knows what until I say "pee, clothes, hair, teeth, shoes WITH socks" Like its brand new information, like we haven't been doing this for a month now. We are late every morning. Every. Single. Morning.

Hi.
I’m home. Work didn’t need me because we had a low number of patients. Going to work out in a few. Boys have karate today, but that’s all I got.

With my kids it's like it's brand new information that they need to shower their stank asses every night. I need to repeat it so many times I want to pull my hair out.

I made a tiny huge mistake. I started cleaning out the kids art drawer and now there are piles of crap everywhere and I don't want to do it anymore.

inthekitty I feel like I tell E the same thing so many times. The amount of times I have told her if I have to continue to repeat myself when I aske her to do something and she doesn't, is stupid. Just put your damn shoes away the first time! Throw all the art supplies away and start over. Those are items that are regularly brought into our house for some reason...for a kid who doesn't do that many crafts at home! I send that shit to the grandparents!

Hi ladies. Crazy busy day. Started today with a Covid test before I could go to work, which was negative. I was completely thrown of guard by a student that had a horrible home situation, which was apparently well known within school, but no-one felt the need to write something about it in the system… so there I was all chipper asking ‘well what brings you here 🤦🏼♀️’. Ds had a playdate straight from school and he had to cycle home with the boys mom. This made me zo nerveus. Sometimes I want him to be three again, where we were his whole world. Yes, I know I’m a helicopter mom. Dh made a nachos for dinner which was nice. He also got me goodies for my final day of leave tomorrow .

Bath is part of our bedtime routine, so no complaints there. I usually put out clothes for the kids at night. Ds will put on whatever I lay out 9/10 times without issues. For dd I often lay out two options and then she can chose in the morning.
The sassyness about what we are going to do/where we are going to go is a whole other story. We have two teenagers in that regard.

I don't get involved with what the boys wear unless it's picture day or something. I just tell them weather wise what they should be wearing. Matthew is vvvvvvvvery picky. Mallory is starting to have an opinion and wants to dress herself which can take hours. Literally. Last night she couldn't get her nightgown on and wouldn't let us help her so she slept in a diaper.. Girl is strong willed.

So today will be low key hanging at home. We’ve had the peak over here, but it was awful here and they are expecting a second wave in winter… My friends girl (almost 2yo) was hospitalised and things were pretty bad for a while. Apparently this version is worse than the ‘normal’ version and also affecting ‘older’ kids (as in for toddlers too, not predominantly <6mo). Hope she feels better soon!

She will occasionally change her mind, but it does help a lot to have things set out.

I went to pick my Jeep up. The body control module they replaced fixed the issue with it telling me the blind spot warning needed serviced when I turn left, but apparently my radio just randomly turns off, so they are ordering a new one. Not looking forward to how it is after they take my dash apart to replace that.

@klongoria I’m jealous of people who can get up and not pee. I would literally pee myself if I so much as stopped to look at my phone before I peed. trtlcrzy hope S is feeling better tonight. The health department nurse said C is cleared for school Monday and so is T if he can test negative again tomorrow. DD will finally start middle school tomorrow and then I have an appointment for T. C has been amazing. We moved his bed to our room and he is very serious about only being in my room or on the porch for unless he puts his mask on. He wore it most of the day even though I said he didn’t have to because he said “mal always wears her mask.” He also told me he can’t believe I gave him covid and I make him sleep in my room with the germs.

Logan has huge opinions on clothes but he has a school uniform so no complaints. On no school days I generally let him pick it out unless it’s a holiday or we are doing something. If he’s wearing something not weather appropriate I let him know but if he still wants to I let him but he knows not to complain. For E if I have already picked out clothes she’ll wear them if not she demands certain clothes. It is what it is. I just got this week the kids clothes for picture day. I’m also using them for our family photo too.

Best story ever. Just told T he is getting a covid test tomorrow next to the place where we found out he was going to be a boy. He asked how we knew he was a boy and I said "because you had a penis". He says "oh wow, I always thought if you wanted to know if you are having a boy or girl, you had to pop a balloon and see if it was pink or blue paper inside."

It's been a long day. The kids I get on the bus get here at 6:30 so I get up at 6:15 to open the garage door and put on a bra. But if the dad is dropping off then it's 7-7:15. But they don't tell me who is dropping off. I up for an hour before they got here today. Ugh. Then Mallory took a 15 minute cat nap and that threw off her whole day. Didn't nap until 5:30. Couldn't get her awake so it's nearly 9 and she's eating dinner. Naked. On the couch. But I got all the paperwork done that I wanted to so thats good.

What a day. J had off but we sent N in..then had flu shot appts for the afternoon. I pick N up and she horrible cold all of a sudden, so I call the ped and they said they will test her too. So we get a negative test, flu shots, (lots of crying by N) then stuck in traffic and on the beltway right before our exit and N has to throw up. Literally my worst nightmare. Thankfully I had a trash bag in the center console and j helped get it open for her. I have never pulled over on this highway, and I guess it was lucky it was a lot of traffic so it wasn't too scary.. and by the grace of God she didn't make a mess.
I get home and am like I'm done for the day, that was traumatic and showered. Except then had a board meeting for daycare and birthday prep for K..

S did well all day but since she had a fever I’ll keep her home tomorrow too. V is such a lover of outside. That child does not ever want to come back into the house and the second she sees a door open she makes a bee line for it. It’s cute but also annoying when I need her to come in. She’s very strong willed.
In regards to the getting kids dressed convo, H usually is good to wear whatever I pick out, but S is very opinionated. Including about which shoes she wears. For the most part I just let them pick their clothes out unless it’s for a special occasion. They have pictures next Thursday and I still haven’t figured out what they’re wearing.
