Has anyone decided what planners they’re using for 2022? I’m completely and totally undecided.

I am sticking with the Happy Planner because I got converted pretty hard once I got over the superficial distaste for the clunkiness. Do you have some possible purchases you are choosing between or starting from scratch? Prior to the HP, I would get the slim pocket-book calendars from Michael’s for a dollar. I had tiny writing and I liked having it be such a transportable size. Now that I have giant bags anyway, I found the larger replaces the calendar and allows me to keep better track of my running to do lists which were always kept separately.

I use an academic year Simplified planner. Switched to the daily layout last year after using the weekly for a year or two. Went with a daily again this year.

I’ve rotated between target planners, moleskine weekly, leuchtturm weekly, rhodia, and a couple of Japanese planners. I like the size that is small enough to put in my purse but large enough to actually write in (it’s roughly 6by8, or 7by9, or something like that). ETA: By target I just mean I bought them at target. I don’t remember the brands (I’ve used a couple), but they weren’t made by target.

I think I’ve decided I’m going with a hybrid approach this year. The primary planner is new - I haven’t used this format before - but I’m currently using the other two.
1) Primary: Maruman Mnemosyne A5 monthly planner. It has a two page monthly spread with the traditional monthly calendar (a square for each day, with a blank column on the left side for notes), then another two vertical pages for each month, with some blank pages at the end of the planner for notes. It’s small enough to fit in my purse but large enough for important notes, and the vertical spreads are perfect for habit tracking, medical appts, and important notes. 2) I’ve been using a B5 Kokuyo binder for planning school work - I use their daily and weekly study planner spreads, then add blank paper for each individual class. That system is working well, so I’m going to continue using it. 3) I keep a couple of individual notebooks for my projects - one for quilting/sewing/embroidery projects, and one for drawing/painting/calligraphy projects. I have an index at the front of each notebook, and reference the page number and notebook in my primary planner. That system is working well, so I’m not planning on changing it.

I purchased the Artful Agenda which is a digital planner, I like that I am able to access it on my iPad, laptop, and phone, but I miss writing my things down. I feel like items are etched into my memory better with the manual writing rather than it just being in my phone. I think that I will look at the store for a 2022 and see if anything catches my fancy and not renew my subscription.

I can’t function without a digital calendar - I use google’s calendar for all my appointments and plans. I share it with my DH so he knows whether he should be worried or not if I’m not home when I usually am. I remember better with writing things down, too. My digital calendar has my appts, but my hard copy planner has all the appt details, anything I need to bring, any questions, etc. as well as my to do lists, budget notes, school homework due dates, etc. I’m playing around with Liz Kohler Brown‘s digital planners - I already had a subscription, so I’m taking her class on how to design digital planners.

It’s so nice to hear when people find systems that work for them and their needs. Plus, it’s just so fun to hear about different ways of doing things and thinking about things and interests. Thank you for sharing!

Im really undecided this year. I feel like bullet journaling/brain dumping works the best for me but I love the paper in my plum planner and like the coil. It doesn’t look like I can get the coiled version in their notebook style.

origami, vertical really helps me, too. I think it’s because I just used running to-do lists for so long.

I’m new here! After receiving another lackluster planner online, I went for a plum paper planner. Then spent an insane amount of money on stickers. So this thing better get my shit together in 2022. LOL

So excited to see a planner thread. I have always used Happy Planners, but this year I decided I wanted a full page per day. I bought mine off Etsy from Whistle and Birch and I am OBSESSED. It has great month overviews but tons of room for notes each day. Also spent lots on stickers and got some new sticker packs in my stocking 🤪
