I don’t know what Squid Game is and I’m afraid to find out. We started it last night. But we also liked Alice in Borderland. Which is very similar. Also don't know that one.

I'm on episode 7 (8?) of Squid Game. It's very dark and somewhat gory. Was just reading an article about how it basically is a commentary on the division of social classes and the exploitation of the lower classes. But set in a drama/horror

I’m helping with intern interviews. I have 5 (one canceled). I’m through 3.

I’m helping with intern interviews. I have 5 (one canceled). I’m through 3. That has been my life for the past few months. Either I'm trying to hire for a production position so I'm getting crickets, despite lots of active trying, or it was like when I was hiring for a new admin. I got 30 applicants (which is a lot for here), I emailed 9 to set up interviews and every single one replied. A handful rescheduled, so I only ended up meeting with 6 or so. But OMG so many interviews and people. I really wished that I could have moved some of those applicants over to the other jobs that I struggle to fill.

The 2 I had yesterday were ready to go, this mornings was definitely not prepared. And these are 30 minute interviews. Is thanking me still a thing? Cause only 1 of the 3 asked for my email and sent me a nice thank you.

sarenu that sounds exhausting! I hope you are going to have a drink this evening. I did not send thank you emails after interviews when job hunting recently. BUT I spent about 2 minutes at the end of each interview expressing my appreciation for their time and consideration.

First one was totally prepared, 2nd definitely did some prep work but was most likely nervous. 3rd was totally winging it, but is sad because they could have really shot this out of the park.

But boy it’s amazing how much someone showing just a tiny bit of interest goes such a long way. Like I am 110% more interested in the person who thanked me than those who didn’t (especially because of how rare it is in my industry).

I was watching YouTube with DH tonight and YT suggested a video that was a review of a hot sauce that we make for a client (that doesn’t mention my company in any way). It seemed fun to watch, so we did. And the lady mentioned me by name! That was a very weird moment in the world of entertainment.

It’s Sunday, I’m planning out my shopping list and headed to the store soon.
It’s kind of gloomy and I just want to cuddle up and drink my coffee.

We're doing Thanksgiving dinner tonight. It's raining and I'm feeling cozy.
My parents are roasting the turkey at their apartment and bringing it over later. I'm in charge of dessert. I made a chocolate Bourbon pecan pie square (like pecan pie but on a sugar cookie crust baked in a 9x13) and I've got dough chilling in the fridge for upside down Apple pie. I'll be making caramel sauce and chocolate whipped cream later this afternoon.

I just scored well over the diagnosed average threshold on an autism test. My entire childhood/young adult/social anxiety experience makes so much more sense in this context. I'm going to pursue formal diagnosis. My husband scored inbetween suspected and diagnosed averages. I feel like I should look into having the kids evaluated too. They haven't triggered enough things on the autism screenings at the pediatrician but I'm wondering if that's becuase my own perception of "normal" childhood behavior and experiences are not normal.

My 6.5 yo still sleeps with my old nursing pillow every night. He stole it out from under me before I was even done BF DS2. It IS a great pillow.

Our next door neighbors just listed their house for sale. We've never met them, it's a second home, and I'm a little nervous about who will move in. I kind of like having some neighbors who are rarely there!

Last night, my husband confused the terms “gas lighting” and “hot boxing.” And part of me was so proud of my part-Neanderthal husband for recognizing and calling out this abusive and unacceptable behavior in another man’s treatment of a woman. But the other part of me could not stop dying over the mixup and laughing at the idea of a dude hot-boxing his girlfriend at a sidewalk cafe in Turkey.
Obv abuse is no joke. And I hope this doesn’t hurt or trigger anyone. But I do think it’s a big thing that we are getting the word out there that treating people this way isn’t normal and it isn’t ok. So maybe more people will recognize it and less people will fall victim to it.
But hot-boxing?

Sewing machine died on me. Spent 2 hours trouble shooting the issue with no luck.
Broke out my mother in laws machine from the 70’s and spend an hour online trying to thread it. This thing is a beast.
Guess I’m going to get my old one serviced or get a new one so I have a backup.

I would be in a bind without mine - especially as I need to finish up T’s costume!

I would be in a bind without mine - especially as I need to finish up T’s costume! This was the main reason I grabbed my MILs machine. It’s a Singer Fashion Mate 257. And it weighs over 30 pounds. Threading it was a little more complicated.

Went out to dinner last night and this was our view. We kept saying how perfect the night was and how delicious the food was. How lucky we were to be experiencing such beauty. Cue to the middle of the night and we both have food poisoning. I have the worst of it. I don't think I'll be able to eat crab or tacos again for a very very long time 🤢.

I bought Halloween sugar cookies for the kids today and N just took a couple of small bites and said, "I'm done with my cookie, can I have some blue cheese on bread?" And now she's gobbling down the cheese and I'm eating the cookie.
