nam2013, could it be that she smells/senses you and thus wants to nurse or be held? Have you tried having yh put her down to see if he gets a different response?

It usually works, but only after 2/3 hours. I know she wants to be with me, I mean seriously she worms her way out of the co-sleeper to be next to me, because apparently a bed that is adjoined to ours and my head being 10 inch away from her is not close enough. I let her sleep in our bed last night, she just latched from time to time, best night’s sleep hands down in 9 months 😂, but I do like my space and it feels less safe, so there’s that.

nam2013 I know you don't want to hear this, but it sounds like you've tried everything else and you'll have to sleep train. I'd try laying her down awake but if you're not comfortable with that yet, then try to transfer her. If she wakes up, the longest I'd wait is 10 min. I usually started at every 5 min though. Will it suck? Yup. Will she cry? Probably. But going in every 5 min to pat her back or whatever until she falls asleep will work eventually, as long as she isn't sick/hungry etc. You know your baby enough to know when she needs to eat again so you set the time frame. If it's been 3 hours and she needs to eat, then feed her and do the same thing again. Again, you set the intervals that you go in. Will it work over night? Probably not. Do you have to be consistant? Yup! Otherwise, it won't work. Cry it out doesn't mean you just let them cry for hours on end. She needs to learn how to soothe herself to sleep, otherwise she'll still be waking up for the next year or so.

nam2013 CIO didn't work at our house, Evie got so upset she would make herself sick. We were co-sleepers from 4 months on. I can't remember at what age we started putting her in her bed asleep and her staying there. But I would rock her to sleep, put her in her crib, then when she woke, which was when I was *usually* already in bed, I'd bring her to bed with us because I can't be awake in the middle of the night and function the next day. But she was in our bed every night for a long time. She still occasionally gets into our bed. Not that there isn't a space in between what me and tgrimes are saying, but you have to do what you have to do to get some sleep. What works in our house, doesn't work in everyone's house, etc.

Our office door just got jammed and we couldn't get the latch to move. I successfully removed the doorknob and latch, installed a new doorknob, and re-keyed it.
I would like to charge locksmith prices to my firm.

Have you tried to put one of your shirts by her? nam2013 Like if you wear a shirt at night then change out it it and put it next to her to try to fool her. Or lay with a blanket of hers for a while, then put it next to her. I know babies these days are too smart for us, but may be worth a try?

I need sleep and co sleeping gave it to me. I know it's not for everyone though.

nam2013 try putting her to bed 30 minutes earlier. She might be overtired and having a hard time settling, especially if she can do it during the day. I have a baby that still wakes up multiple times a night so I’m probably not qualified to give sleep advice. We lay V down, sing to her and rub her back until she falls asleep. I need to do real sleep training but DH is not helpful.

Day 3 and they’re almost done sanding the deck. This has turned out to be quite the long process, I’m just glad I’m not the one doing it. guster I have had breast lump biopsies and it’s really not a big deal. Depending on the type they do you may have some steri strips for a week so that the incision can heal. Keep the ice packs on and take your ibuprofen. I hope they come back clear!

That's good to hear. The procedure sounds very easy. Lidocaine (or whatever that topical equivalent is called) and then they implant a little metal piece (it looks like the head of a pin), and then pull the needle to biopsy. The metal piece stays in in case it is something that has to be removed or they can track it during any further ultrasounds. I thought it was clever. She said I'd be fine but to avoid lifting anything heavy for 36 to 48 hours because I could cause some bleeding.

mamabear we have. We went during non busy times and hardly anyone was there. They wore masks and regularly sanitized. I'm guessing it was actually much less potential contact than school/dc.

nam2013 others have already given great advice and my kids didn't sleep for shit, so take this with a grain of salt, but another thing I'd try is scaling back the bedtime routine. It seems long and involved. If she gets more used to sleep cues, then put to bed instead of a lot more attention from the family it might help the process go more smoothly.

Informal poll: would you/have you take your kids to chuck e cheese with the current state of things? L has been BEGGING to go. Not somewhere we normally go anyway so it would be a special treat. I just haven't taken them anywhere high touch this whole time so it makes me nervous....maybe if we went during a non peak time?... I haven't taken them to chuck e cheese yet, but I totally would if I could go during the day when it's not crowded.

mamabear I may be the lone dissent here. I would not take them. If you had asked me last month, I would. But now I’d be too nervous. I have a week off with the kids before school starts and I had planned all these day trips but I had to scale them back. Now we’re just doing zoo and a dinosaur park (outside) and then local parks& pool But I have been on the conservative side all along so take that with a grain of salt

mamabear I wouldn't take evie during normal times because places like that drive me crazy. If she wanted to go, I'd be cool with her grandparents taking her. I've heard our local one is not doing well because of lack of business, so I think they're definitely a business that has suffered during this.

M2’s classmate had a party there 2 weekends ago and the only reason my kids went was because it was on Sunday from 9-11am. MH said they had the place to themselves. M2 was the only one from the class that went and it was a few family friends. They wore their masks and Mh said it was fine. I stayed in bed that morning while he took them. 😁 Not sure what time they open though. I think only the party guests were there at 9am, but if they open before noon on Sunday, I would attempt to take him then.

I'm all good with the beach, the zoos, the playgrounds (as long as they don't get too crowded) but all the indoor stuff definitely makes me nervous.

Good lord. I mostly gave up FB at the end of last year and my mental well being had been much better because there are so many loud-mouthed ignorant dumbasses on there spreading false information. I made the mistake of reading a friend's rational post about being a healthcare worker who is overwhelmed with the rise of covid and then read all of his dipshit friend's responses. I blocked more people and need to stay away.

trtlcrzy I was thinking that too, but I like to eat as a family too… we start bedtime for all kids around 6.30, baby girl usually starts nursing around 06.45/06.50. inthekitty it sounds long, but including bathtime and nursing it is max 30 minutes. mamabear we did that with the other two kids! They were always fine as long as they could see us. Baby girl will start screaming as soon as she hits the matras, but maybe I should give that another go. @ladeedah I was thinking about that, maybe let her have a small stuffy/small piece of cloth that’s been in my bra day .

Thanks for thinking with me girls and sorry for the late response. Baby girl and ds came down with my virus last night, so we’ve been up with both of them all night long. ‘luckily’ just vomit for now…dh feels like a time bomb and I’m watching dd1 like a hawk.
Tomorrow was going to be the first afternoon in two months or so that the kids were going to my parents for the afternoon 😫.

mamabear, I've only taken C to a couple of stores quickly and would be pretty uncomfortable with an indoor playspace. We took him to the movies actually before this most recent surge but no one was there and it was a controlled thing. nam2013, I hope the kids are feeling better!
