Got to the office just before 8. Drop off went fairly smoothly. Sat here in the office for an hour before anyone else even showed up. Co-worker isn't speaking to me. She was trying to chit chat over text on Monday while she was "working from home" and when I wasn't responding immediately she got defensive and I said I was busy. Apparently that offended her.... *major eye roll* I'm over it. 3 of the attorneys are in Houston for a convention for the rest of the week so it should be pretty quiet.

Today was Evie's first day back to school. She was so nervous/excited, it was after 10 when she finally went to sleep last night, so she should be a hot mess today.
Our school board had an emergency meeting Monday night regarding masks. People were complaining about kids having to wear them, so they made a 'medical exemption' form that you can fill out if you choose to have your kid not wear theirs. But it isn't required to be signed by a doctor. I was pleasantly surprised that most kids were wearing their masks this morning. But like I told H, the people who disagree with the rules, are the ones who speak the loudest. Those that agree, go with the flow, because I don't require change, or a damn exemption for my child.
One of my friends sent me a text about it last night and I just told her I was done talking about it. People can't even behave like respectful humans to each other on this, what kind of lesson are we teaching our children.

I'm at the office and just ate a piece of cake for breakfast. Now I would like a nap.

SSDD here. I'm hoping to be more focused today because yesterday I was on the struggle bus.
Girls will likely help with horseback riding again today and have lessons this evening.

Hi all. Feeling a lot better than yesterday today. Quiet day today. The weather sucks and I hate that we’re not doing more fun things for the last days of the kid’s vacation, but the weather is not cooperating for outdoor things 😕.

Morning. Yesterday was busy so I didn’t get a chance to check in. My nephew spent the day with us so we went to a park for lunch and then to the zoo. Then last night H had her first soccer practice of the season. Sounds like it went well, I was at work.
As for today, we just found out teacher assignments for this year. H’s teacher is new to the school but I’m not sure if she’s a new grad, I guess I’ll find out when we meet her next week. S’s teacher has been there a while so that’s good. Mostly we will be hanging out at home today enjoying the rest of the lazy days before school starts next week.

Charlie is negative but he said if the fever still there by next week, he'd re-test (but the fever was gone this morning-- yay!) My mammo/US showed a pea sized lump. They said it is most likely (like 98% sure it's a Fibroadenoma) but they can't be sure because this is my first mammo/US. I can wait 6 months and have another US or I could biopsy now. I chose the biopsy and will go next week. Do not want that hanging over my head for 6 months.

Yay for the negative test. guster Sorry about the little lump, but hoping it’s nothing serious. I agree about doing the biopsy and not waiting 6 months. Hope E has a great day at school! mwhip

I’m just counting down the hours until I can go home…. I think this is my last full week of training and I’m looking forward to a few days a week to myself soon.

guster yaay for a negative test. And would’ve done the same regarding the biopsy, do not want that anxiety looming over me for so long. Hopefully it’s nothing.

The boys started today. J is half day kindergarten so he's home and eating lunch now. After lunch I'll put mj down for a nap. Girl is wild today. She was not happy the boys left.. she wanted on the bus and then wanted me to follow the bus. guster +12 on opting for the biopsy. No way I'd wait 6 months for answers.

I'm so tired. I overscheduled yesterday and am paying for it a bit. It didn't help that C woke the dog early by going to the basement because he forgot we had one. So my morning got all jumbled up.

My work has had major scheduling issues for ~ a decade. It's been a major source of irritation and unnecessary stress at work. For whatever reason, my boss has finally had an inclination to do his job and I'm cautiously optimistic we may have a better system when this is all done.

Okay all you vet very experienced moms, help me out. Baby girl will nap reasonably wel during the day, she sometimes needs to be rocks to sleep, but then can be transferred to her crib without much ado. Now evenings are a whole other ballpark. She hates the crib at night. As soon as she hits the matras (awake or asleep) she’ll cry and cry and cry. She will fall asleep in our arms without a fight. I’m not going to let her ‘cry it out’. We have a bedtime routine, bath, book, songs, nurse. It’s less calm then I would like, but I can’t make the other kids disappear. Willing to hear any advise or anecdotes about what worked for you.
ETA for now it takes us 2/3 hours each night before we can get her to sleep in her crib. All of us are very tired to say the least.

Can you do some of the holding her to fall asleep while helping the others fall asleep I remember doing that with B when he was a baby. And he'd fall asleep while I Was reading/tucking in etc.

nam2013 Are you trying to get her to fall asleep in your arms and then transfer her to the crib? Or are you laying her down awake and she just won't fall asleep?

jewels & tgrimes Both. I do the bath part with her alone, to give her some quiet time before bed. Then dh reads to her, while the other two are in the tub. Then I sing to all three of them, after which the ds/dd will go up stairs. I’ll nurse baby girl & cuddle with her for a bit at that point; sometime she’ll fall asleep while nursing and I’ll try and put her away, sometimes she’ll be awake when I’ll try to put her down. Neither works. ETA she’ll be 9mo (😳) tomorrow.

nam2013 First, remind me how old she is now? Second, when you put her in the crib and she cries, what do you do? Do you immediately pick her up or do you pat her back? do you have a sound machine in her room?

I’ve let her cry for a couple of minutes (10 min max). Doing this for a few times during the day worked, but at night not so much 🤷🏼♀️.

nam2013, possible 9 month sleep regression? Is she working on new skills? Crawling, pulling up on things, etc? Or possibly teething? How many naps is she taking? If more than 2 can you lose 1?

If more than 2 can you lose 1? - She usually takes two naps, if one of them is very short she’ll take an extra nap in the carrier wrap. - Regression is possible, only she has never napped in her crib up until 7mo (all her naps where on me…) so I wouldn’t recognise a regression 😂. - no teeth, would be very early for us (dd/ds were almost 1yo when they got their first teeth) - is starting to move around, but not really interested in crawling, pulling herself up etc.
